Re: Pokémon Thread XIII: Our Ponies are ON FIRE!
Do female chlorophyll Bulbasaur even exist? I know that some males were given out as promotions in Japan early on in Gen V...
Also! We've hit 50 pages, we need a new thread and ergo a new title!
As suggested earlier, I'm thinking a Pokéstar Studios title would be good, but I don't have much. Other than possibly Lucario Thread vs Brycen-Man, or Pokémon Thread Strikes Back Harder.

Re: Pokémon Thread XIII: Our Ponies are ON FIRE!
I just fought the most irritating pokemon ever.
Hidden Ability Liepard with Substitute, Swagger, Foul Play, and Assist. Why Assist, you might ask? Well, the other members of the party knew only one valid move for Assist to copy. You wanna know what it was? SPORE.
****ING SPORE. SPORE WITH FREAKING +1 PRIORITY BECAUSE PRANKSTER.Last edited by Derjuin; 2012-11-08 at 12:04 PM.

Pokemon Thread 14: Keep Calm and Catch Them All?
In other news, I:
SpoilerBeat the Black Tower and got my Shiny Gible. I stupidly forgot to save before hand so I could get a good nature, but luckily I at least got Quirky. Yes, it's male, shiny, and, to my surprise, came with an Exp. Share!Busy with Life

Re: Pokémon Thread XIII: Our Ponies are ON FIRE!
That's amusing, I guess, but what happens when they wake up? How many Swaggers are you using? What if they are a physical-based attacker that resists Steel? The turn they wake up they get to attack, and then you actually just don't have any Pokemon with attacking moves anymore.

Re: Pokémon Thread XIII: Our Ponies are ON FIRE!
Substitute. Spore guarantees you'll have at least one free turn to set it up. If they switch, you can hit them with spore at priority. When they wake up, they can't status you and can't deal any damage unless they've got a multi hit move. Then you put them back to sleep, get up a substitute and start hitting them again.

Re: Pokémon Thread XIII: Our Ponies are ON FIRE!
They could also phaze you, which would mess things up. I assume you have Leftovers on, otherwise Substituting over and over could go badly for you since you need a turn of setup on every Pokemon, which gives them a window to wake up. Also, if they have Own Tempo or Simple, you have to kill them with bonusless Foul Plays, which might take a while (and killing them with boosted ones might also take a while). There are many ways for this strategy to go wrong.
You also have to be playing without Sleep Clause for this to work. It does exist for a reason.

Re: Pokémon Thread XIII: Our Ponies are ON FIRE!
Sure. The actual losing might take a while, too, since all the non-Liepard Pokemon will only have Spore and Protect. And maybe some other less-than-useful moves that make matches take longer.
Although even without Liepard you could theoretically win with Spore-Punchers. Breloom can learn both, and any Pokemon that can learn Assist has Spore, so if it can also learn Focus Punch you can make them into Spore-Punchers. Infernape is a viable one, for example.

Re: Pokémon Thread XIII: Our Ponies are ON FIRE!
The fact that all of your Pokemon can be Spore-Punchers is actually just hilarious.
Edit: Nevermind, I forgot that Assist can copy Fainted Pokemon's moves, so all your other Pokemon with Assist can also hit Swagger, Foul Play, and Substitute. Perhaps not just a team of Spore-Punch Trolls.

Re: Pokémon Thread XIII: Our Ponies are ON FIRE!
No, I was using Assist to be Spore, since the only thing Assist can hit on Liepard is Spore so I thought the same would be true for your other Pokemon after your Liepard faints and your strategy fails. But I forgot that Assist can work on moves your fainted Pokemon have, which means that once Liepard goes down, Assists on other Pokemon don't actually work. So if you try the Spore Punch route, you're going to be stuck with just Breloom and Smeargle as actual Spore-Punchers.

Re: Pokémon Thread XIII: Our Ponies are ON FIRE!
New thread.
Had a hard time deciding on a good thread title, so I came up with a goofy one.
