Favourite Character Tournament

Ooooh, I was hoping it wouldn't come to this exact matchup. Two favorites for totally different reasons. But... it's gotta be Tarquin. Don't worry, Kazumi, you'll go on taking and making lives in my heart.

Tarquin. I love how Tarquin's is reflected in Elan, even though they're completely different people. Also, you've probably noticed that every time Tarquin shows up, he chokes the page with dialogue balloons. I get the sense that the Giant just adores writing this guy, and all of that playful energy is hard to ignore.

(Yeah, I do feel a twinge about going for Captain Casually Misogynist over the Badass Pregnant Woman, but, you know, villains are cool.)

Greysky Priest. I adore this guy. The Giant did such a good job of painting him as self-interested party with his own agenda, and then letting that agenda interact with the Guild and the Order. There's something awesome about his look, too -- the grey hair and tired eyes suggest a lifetime of playing the edge, crosses, near-crosses and secrets. Far more than most minor characters, it's easy to imagine him have an interesting life of his own that's completely independent of the main plot.

Kinda surprised Kazumi is keeping it somewhat interesting; she's great, but no match for Tarquin.

Kazumi is one of my favorite minor characters, so it sucks to see her go out so early, but Tarquin is one of my favorite characters in the comic.

And I wasn't so much a fan of the Greysky arc, but the Greysky Priest was my favorite character introduced there, so I'll take him fairly easily over the Archon (who I also like).

Kazumi is just so awesome. "Why should I care how many people I have to kill? I can just make more in my TUMMY!" was such a cool idea. But against the unique, enchanting Tarquin she cannot win.

Wow, these are difficult. Tarquin is awesome, and he`s had a lot more character defining screentime, but Kazumi Kato is so much more likable... He`s Evil, and she`s Good... Ok, so Kazumi Kato after all.

Losers` cup is difficult too. Once again, archon is Good and priest is at best Neutral. But the priest managed to get so much interesting characterisation in so fewer strips that I vote for him. Greyski priest.

My sympathy for recuring minor NPCs makes me vote for Kazumi Kato. Tarquin is fleshed out a lot more, but I suffer from a mild allergic reaction from his recent over-exposure. I'm sure it'll go away with time (maybe he'll get my vote next round).

No real opinion for this round in the LC, so an abstention.
