As I said: things come to Canada, they get mixed up with other things, they become Canadian things. To us, perogies are vaguely eastern european. You can find them at chinese-canadian restaurants. I think at that point they stop being a polish thing.

Yeah, you really can get perogies at chinese-canadian restaurants. Note: Chinese-Canadian restaurants are different from Chinese restaurants. One is "food just like you get in China", the other is "food my granddad cooked when he first came to Canada in the late 19th century", which includes chinese, faux-chinese, steak, burgers, perogies, and all kinds of other normal canadian foods.

There are something like seven thousand languages out there after all.

And besides, I'm also attempting to use what little other clues there are to guide me in my investigation.
