Re: Heart of Gheddon
Lyrie looks up after a moment or two of inspecting the entrance to the manufacture hallway, looking to the others. "Well, there aren't any traps at the beginning of the tunnel, and that's usually the prime place to put them. I'd say we're in pretty good standing to just head down the path and see what happens.
Are any of you inclined to walking in front? I've got a touch of magic and I can handle myself in a close fray, but I'm first and foremost an archer. If any of you prefer to do things up close, should a fight break out, by all means lead the way."

Re: Heart of Gheddon
Lyrie touches an arrow in her quiver, pauses, and then draws another with red fletching and a large head, nocking it and laying it across her bow. You notice that the bow is of a fine, dark wood, and that it is patterned with faint blue markings. It is also considerably sturdier than a bow has any right being; you don't doubt for a moment that she could use it as a club just as well as a ranged weapon.
"Lead on, then, Ori. And what is this you're saying about breathing? I've had to avoid pockets of sulfurous gasses and worse since I've arrived, and if you've figured out a way to not need air I'd love to hear it. The Elemental Planes are not meant for mortal life, and even the most mild of them can kill in a heartbeat. We are not in the most mild of them, though the Plane of Fire would probably be worse."

Re: Heart of Gheddon
"Perhaps instead it would be prudent for us to let a summon of mine lead?" Axile pipes in. It was true, his elementals could easily be re-summoned if destroyed, and cost him no power!
Axile focuses the familiar storm energies in front of him, electricity sparking from a growing spark formed by him. Soon, the familiar rumbling of storms can be heard, and with a loud thunderclap, the storm elemental is in front of Axile.

Re: Heart of Gheddon
Lyrie looks from Axile to the elemental, appraising the summoning and filing the information away for later use. She looks between the three of you, clearly expectant. "Well, have it lead on, then. Seems that there is little point in sitting here and burning time."

Re: Heart of Gheddon
Axiles elemental takes the lead, guided by Ori's directions. The remainder of the group following along down into the hewn tunnel.
The tunnel itself seems almost entirely level and comes to four way intersections at regular intervals. The path Ori decides to follow takes many of these turns and it seems, due to the lack of markings of any kind, that it would be very easy to become lost within these tunnels.
Mariel and Lyrie:

Re: Heart of Gheddon
Lyrie holds up a hand, and she whispers for the group to pause for a moment. Her elven ears twitch once or twice, and she nods to herself. "Anyone else hear that? I'm not sure where exactly you're leading us, Ori, but we've got company. Are we supposed to assume that they're hostile, or should we attempt diplomacy before shooting?"

Re: Heart of Gheddon
"I do. We can try to go unnoticed, which might help. Assume hostile until proven otherwise, but give them the chance to show their intentions. Ori and Axile should be able to be a fairly good distraction."
Mariel shifts to a more alert status, moving carefully, seeking to keep to the shadows.

Re: Heart of Gheddon
The party proceeds to round a corner finding two dwarves in heavy armor with tower shields blocking the entire width of the tunnel. They wear green goggles in addition to strange masks over their nose and mouth. In front of them is a strange lizard seemingly crusted over with stone. It has a pair of rose tinted goggles strapped over its own eyes. a faint humming can be heard. The left dwarf shouts something, his voice fairly muffled under the mask.
"Arcanist! End him!"

Re: Heart of Gheddon
Fort save, with Inspiration: (1d20+12)[13]
Lyrie doesn't bother pausing to think, instead firing a flurry of arrows as soon as the three come into sight. A basilisk of any variety was a lethal threat, and this one was completely unfamiliar to her, which meant that is was nothing if not worse than a normal one.
She used the strange arrows with the red fletching and large arrowheads, and as soon as she fired her first one it becomes clear why she uses them; the fast air moving across the first arrow causes it to burst into flames. Already crackling with a burst of electricity imparted by her bow, it strikes the first dwarf with a sizzle; two more arrows follow, targeting the second dwarf and the basilisk.
Attacks:
SpoilerShe is using Rapid Shot. If she misses any of her shots her subsequent shots get a +4 bonus due to her Woodland Archer feat. She spends inspiration to add a bonus to hit for the arrows at the dwarves and to hit and damage on the basilisk. They should all be flatfooted.
Attack 1, vs Dwarf 1: (1d20+20)[21]
Damage: (1d6+3)[7] + (1d6)[3] shock + 1 acid
Attack 2, vs Dwarf 2: (1d20+20)[32]

Attack 3, vs Basilisk: (1d20+15)[31]
Damage: (1d6+9)[11] + (1d6)[1] shock + 1 acid
All targets must make a DC 15 Reflex save or they will catch on fire, dealing 1d6 fire damage immediately; more information is in that srd link.

Re: Heart of Gheddon
Lyrie freezes into a statue as she draws to fire her first arrow. The left Dwarf hurls a small object into the space behind Axile. A tree springs into existence, piercing up into the ceiling and pushing Mariel back from the corner. The dwarf moves to adjacency with Axile.
Axile:
Spoiler
You are aware casting defensively will be impossible next to this dwarf.
Ori tumbles forth into flanking with Axile and strikes at the second dwarf. The strike hits home and knocks the dwarf off balance (stunned)

Re: Heart of Gheddon
The greased foes fall down, although the lizard doesn't have far to fall.
Axiles elemental shocks one dwarf and then misses with a slam.
Axile backs up and then drops a glitterdust on the entire group, leaving them all sparkly.*
one dwarf rises and narrowly is protected from a swing by ori which glances off his pauldron.
Ori strikes the downed dwarf she struck before, leaving it bloodied. It doesn't do much of anything (dazed)
the lizard bites at the elemental
