A Pleasant Cul-de-Sac

"The rest of my life after I moved," says the woman, unwilling to reveal her actual age. She puts a sparkling clean plate with the other plates. One point! Now she moves onto a cup.

"I just played in the park, though, while my husband was off fighting fires." She played a lot! So she's pretty good. And her husband (who was unfortunate enough to be in a building when it exploded...but fortunate enough to save several lives in the process) was a firefighter! How cool!


Near a windmill where 30 vampires were recently slain 4 months ago and a small stream in the middle of the city

A man who looks like he hasn't slept in a couple of days walks down a small road that passes by a windmill. He also looks like he hasn't shaved in a couple of days.

He has a cape fluttering in the wind in a really dramatic kind of way, and he has a sword hilt sticking up over his shoulder. (Man, I really like those swords on their backs.)

He stops by the small stream, and kneels down to get a drink, and cool off his face by splashing water on it.

Maeve smiles, and takes the card, though she shakes her head again.

"Thank you, then, I suppose. Though don't worry about paying him for me for a while... There are other problems that I don't really want to go into; I was trying to put you off without having to get into them. Nothing against you or your friend, just... Personal stuff that would make it unlikely I'd be able to watch them without causing other issues."

That's still a bit strange for him. Other problems she don't want him in? What is she talking about? They just know each other a few minutes? And there is only one thing that might cause her to say such things. Something with a non human person. Not hard to guess since this is the only thing Zefir talked about. Zefir is well aware that nothing against you means its only against him.

Kareem, the man sitting near Zefir, turns to Maeve. "Miss, I'd like to order my dessert. Crème brulee and coffee please." He looks at Zefir. "Would you like some as well? The desserts here are very good."

"Praise be!" Eric says over-dramatically, "I suppose that means you can finally work the hormones out of my female body, huh? Though I suppose if it comes down to- No, I probably shouldn't finish that sentence. You might actually make me do it." Eric continues to blush, before sighing a bit.

Julie looks at him owlishly, not really believing what he's implying there, "Eric, there's no indication that I'd even want more children to take care of, as unstable as everything has been I don't know if it's safe to think about it. Even if I did, there's no way I would put you through that. I can't imagine putting myself through it again willingly without a lot of consideration." More than a lot, but she's unwilling to tell Eric that she'll never be ready for more children, and she doesn't even know how true that will be. She's gone through so many changes already, she couldn't say for herself what she might do in the future.

"But yes, I'll put you back to normal now. Well, maybe not here in the restaurant, but as soon as we get a moment to ourselves, I promise." Come to think of it, she wouldn't be surprised if this place catered to dual-gendered welfs that look like tieflings with shapechanging succubus girlfriends. Still, drawing out Eric's prize appeals to her still-present mischievous side.

"It'll be a while before you stop actually producing milk, but what I do will be the beginning of the end."

Whoever is nearby might notice that a rather scruffy looking Lee is walking in the greenhouse's general direction though it seems that he hasn't noticed her.

The greenhouse used to be pretty opulent, a pretty botanical garden. The building itself is round with a low cone top, and there are cracks and breaks in some of the dirty windows.
Inside, it's sort of like a wedding cake structure, with concentric circular tiers that once held different displays of plants. Now everything is mixed in and unkempt.
He won't see anyone inside, but there's that old crappy truck parked by the entrance...

The truck draws Lee's curiosity. He walks towards the truck, eventually trying to see if anyone is in the truck.

The doors are unlocked to the large greenhouse, so he can indeed get in if he tries.

The waitress will re-appear with their drinks. She will place them on the table, and then ask, "Are you ready to order, or would you like a bit more time?"

"Good enough for me," He says in response to Julie. Then the waitress arrives once more! "Hmm. Ah, I know, why don't you order for me, Julie? I imagine you have much better taste than I do."

"An expert now, am I? Well flatterer, I'll have you know I don't know thing one about fancy food, but let's see what I can come up with." Julie finally finds the section she'd been half-looking for, and skims it for a few moments before declaring, "We'll have two orders of stuffed grape leaves, and a large greek pizza to share. Green olives, not black."

She half-turns to Eric, looking for approval, "Anything special you want on your half of it? It's mostly feta and goat cheese and lots of spice for seasoning, with more veggies than anything else for substance."

Lee almost jumps, though his training takes over less than a second later as he begins moving towards the voice.

Eric scratches his chin, "I have no idea what I'd get that wouldn't ruin the flavor, so I'll just have the same as what you're having, alright?" He's never been a big one for vegetables, but being technically an elf has made them a lot more appealing recently. Must be the type of elf he is.

"Nothing unusual that might account for the disappearances. I assume you're looking into them, too?" Then, a hiss. Mrs. Bloodplunder gets her flail out of her handbag surprisingly fast, and holds it like she knows how to use it as she looks around. "I was hoping for slavers or a group against the human-supremacists, but that didn't sound like slavers or anti-human-supremacists."

the waitress will gather up the menus and then disappear again. She is very good at the "non-intrusive" aspect of her job.

"A minute? Well, at least the service is prompt. I don't think I'll time them on that one though." Julie remarks as she leans a bit more heavily into Eric's shoulder, sighing in a mix of contentment and contemplation.

"You know, we should figure out where we're going to send Prism and Scylla to school. I don't know if the GLoG daycare will start offering schooling anytime soon, and with how fast they're growing, they'll need a lot of knowledge crammed into their heads before long if we want them to be up to speed with others their age." Even though they're only a bit over five months old, they're already almost as advanced as their apparent ages, and she's worried that if she doesn't start finding ways to teach them soon, she'll miss the window where they could learn the most in the blink of an eye.

The bulb begins to open.
Mm... haven' found any dead people to eat yet... you can bring some?

I can't give you dead people. The people in the city tend to dislike things that eat people. Dead or otherwise.
