Keo, of course, does not realize the implications of saying this kind of thing to people like these two.

Both look at her with shock. "You hunted a what, lass?" Thelonius asks, half sure she was either joking, or didn't quite know what she means.

"Eh, yee be a little small to have hunted a squirrel aren't yee? Oi'd be more worried bout a squirrel huntin' yee."

Justin grasps the technical of what Jefferies is saying. Computers in the Nexus must be more capable than they are now to facilitate games. It's plausible. The fancy terms like cutscenes and Npcs fly right over his head though.

"I'm Justin Mine," he introduces himself, "and I'm a little to young to be sir."

Why are they surprised? It's not like squirrels are six feet tall with incisors big enough to cut her arm clean off.

Of course not, they're six feet tall and experts at guerilla tactics and archery.

Now they're just confused. Squirrels are tall. Taller than the mole-maid at least. "Maybe she means a different sort of squirrel? She didn't know what a Hare or a mole were, so it's possible."

Lume puts his large, glowing hand on Brand's shoulder. "Thank you for helping me," he says, and begins to glow a little brighter. "I know my tale frightened you, and I wouldn't blame you if you wanted to get yourself and your family as far away from me as possible. But you should know that your advice and assistance has meant a lot to me."

Maggie sighs in relief while Thelonius laughs out loud. "Ha-ha! Here we were worried she'd eaten some poor squirrel bucko and she'd only eaten some small critter!"

"'At nuffin to laugh at Thel. She is a wildcat affer all." Maggie says shoving Thelonius. "Sorry fer suspeccin somefin 'orrible of yee, little Keo."

Seems she doesn't get it. "Eh," Maggie says awkwardly, "See, Keo, Squirrels is woodlanders loik Oi and Thel where we come from. We thought yee had eaten a someone loik us, rather than some little critter."

It doesn't seem that Rein's needed for anything further, so after a bit he'll slip out quietly, give one more look over the sky, then head towards the exit, barring any interruptions or interceptions.

"Burr, Yee arn't runnin' this here camp outter 'ouse and 'ome without innerducin' yonself!"

Quinn nods, and sets about doing more intensive medically-paladin-stuff.

Keo will go over to the door of the main cabin, jump up to the handle, and open it, permitting the people already in the cabin to get a good look at the newcomers, and vice-versa.

A full psychic scan reveals... not a lot unfortunately. There doesn't seem to be anything influencing her mind at the moment, nor anything wrong with it.

Lucy looks after the onion that had been a fully grown humanoid just moments before. At first, Lucy seems far too shocked to respond. Eyes wide and pupils glowing a faint yellow, shadow growing and seeking any crack in the undead nurse's control.

"She-I, how-Impossible. The strain, delusions c-could occur. Page 61 in the Guide."

Taking a deep breath, more for calmness than a need for Oxygen, Lucy looks at Bill. Smiling, Lucy continues in a more calm tone. The shadow returning to normal, glaring eyelessly at the nurse.

"M-my apologies, looking around sounds splendid."

By his side is a shorter, younger and stockier woman with bushy hair that covers her eyes and large mole claws for hands and feet.

The hare-man knocks on the door frame. "Knock-knock all. A little kitten shaped birdy told us this is where we could pick up a nice a hot plate of rations. Any truth to the rumor?"

"Roight fer the tuck, eh Thel? Sorry fer moi fren's manners. He lost 'em seasons ago and hasn't found 'em since." The mole-maid bows in apology.

"There are, but they don't look like you. And they don't live there, just visit," Brinika explains.

In the other part of Main Cabin, Reelshka, Brinika's aunt and the goblin lady in her player's signature, approaches the two newcomers.

Having looked around the place he'll be staying in, Lume heads to the infirmary to see if he can lend a hand around there. Unless he meets someone along the way, that's where he should end up.

Missy gets an internal ping, and starts to stand up. "Come along, Jefferies. Your Daddy will be getting off work soon, and I know you'll want to tell him all about your day."

Jefferies hops to her feet at once. "I hope Daddy can come too next time! Bye Justin! Bye Tito! Bye Brinika! I come back anudder day!"

And after all the goodbyes are said, the pair will head off to the Riftline station.

Tito will address the newcomers. "Yes, ma'am, sir, we have lots of food here. What kind do you eat? We have bread about to come out of the oven." The smell is heavenly!

Good byes are said to the little orc and her guardian.

"Oi'm Maggie an' this here is Thelonerous, we'm was traveling an' came outta the forest," Maggie says to Reelshka. "We met Keo an' she brought us here. You still around?"

Thelonius is distracted by the offer of food and the smell of bread. "Lead the way laddie! I'm down right starved, been walking fer days now. Also it's imperative you let me know where the larder is. Tactical reasons."

"Don' believe him, young'n. You'll be outta food by week's end," Maggie says to Tito. "Thel zagerates, but we'm been walkin a powerful long time. May we rest our paws here awhile?"

Keo looks at the people in the cabin. She doesn't recognize them all... oh!

"Hi Brinka! Hi Tito!"

"Hi Keo!" Brinika says enthusiastically to the catgirl before peering curiously at the two new people.

Reelshka steps back and lets the two people handle themselves for now.

"Yee've never seen a hare eat, have yee?" Maggie says.

"Oh tosh, they can feed us just fine," Thel says, practically skipping his way to the kitchen. "What's your name lad? Never been so uncouth as to not learn who's feeding me."

Before entering the kitchen Maggie apologizes to Reelshka one more time. "Sorry to impose."

Keo will watch the pair go into the kitchen, but not follow. Instead, she'll go over to Brinka. "Is there anything going on in here? There's not much going on out there."
