The reversed "l"'s and "r"'s has already been established earlier in the comic in Bespin (too lazy to find the first instance <EDITED: At least as far back as here where "Robot" became "Lobot" - I noticed it at the time, but I wasn't sure exactly what was up>). My bet it's something like a computer virus. The more outlandish theory is that this isn't R2, but a droid that looks like him (as vaguely vaguely hinted at in the annotation).

I thought about that, but on two separate occasions (possibly three depending on how one wants to count), he reacted very badly to intra-party conflict. Him against the DM is right and proper. Him against the players? Jokes notwithstanding, not so much. Then there's the whole "I control my character" undercurrent he has. But perhaps you're right. He doesn't seem to mind duplicitous actions quite as much (see his reaction to Anakin going to the Dark Side) as he does out and out betrayal. It would also put his protestations about the traitorous Jim in an amusing light.

Eh, as it doesn't affect his power gaming I don't think Pete would have a problem with such a minor joke... probably they have some deal that allows him to ignore his usual penalties for being a droid that's a) slower than his comrades and b) a bit troubled by stairs.

It's funny, but I actually thought about Nute Gunray making some sort of a comeback before his reveal. But I never posted it, so no points for me on that score.

I never really gave it much great thought, which is why I didn't post it. However, when I was going through the archives on the Card Hunt I found the update where Nute Gunray died to be VERY interesting, especially as it hadn't been followed up at the time.

But in retrospect, it WAS a pretty big dangling plot hook.
