    Default Genasi Pyromancer

Quick little backstory...our entire parfty is made up of various townspeople who got fed up with the wizard in the giant mystic tower thing that torments us with weather, monsters, etc. and decided to take up arms to end his terror so were all taking classes related to our jobs, hobbies or w/e

So Far the party looks like this

    Pixie Artificer - Apothecary
    Dwarven Fighter - Bartender
Changeling Vampire - Butcher (nobody questions blood on his shirt :P)
Elven Bow-User (no idea of actual class) - Hunter
    Fire Genasi Pyromancer/Enchanter - Blacksmith

The fire mage has always used his magical abilities to manipulate fire to assist his forging and other arcane energies to enchant them (mostly for sharpness, self-cleaning,etc. for the city and wandering adventurers)

I'm open to any suggestions but I want to maximize fire damage (and would like an easy way to make other spells fire-based) and if I have the extra space anything to boost my enchantments...also I know Tieflings are better but I want to keep him Genasi

Anyways here's the build (We start a Lvl 1 but I like to plan to 11 to get a general Idea)

Ah yes, the classic build that makes the sorcerer cry.

Well, the good thing about a Genasi is that you can use the occasional non-fire spell (e.g. cold or thunder) at levels where no good fire spell is available. Because until you have a means of switching elements on your spell, some levels only have sucky fire spells. Switching is usually done with a Sun Weapon or pre-errata Flaming Weapon (staff).

Fireball is a good example. It's one of the worst wizard spells in 4E, and I would recommend not using it (Summon Magma Beast is a good alternative). I would recommend a good defense spell over the much-overrated Emerald Eye; e.g. Wizard's Escape or Warp in the Weave. Likewise, how could you do without the awesomeness of Wall of Fire? Finally, Scorching Burst is okay but Thunderwave or Freezing Burst are better, if you're ok with using a non-fire spell (for genasi, Beguiling Strands is generally worse than TW).

Melf's is a bit of an odd spell. It's good if your DM allows you to cast a spell before the encounter starts (so you can start the fight with it running); but if the DM requires you to spend a standard action on it in combat, it's really bad. Either way, it overlaps with Wizard's Fury, and I don't think you need both. So I would recommend Wall of Fire.

At lower levels, Implement Focus is actually better than Dual Implement Spellcaster. I'm guessing you've got Blade Initiate and WW Exp for flavor reasons? Because they're not particularly good. And I would recommend Improved Defense over Unarmored Agility.

I namely took WW is because of the -5 to allies, trust me as much as it try not to i always seem to either end up targeting an ally or have to hit 2 enemies instead of 10...Blade Initiate is for Malec-Janissary since flaming weapons don't work anymore otherwise I'd be using a staff. Oh and sunblade adds radiant damage not fire

Oooo....I like the magma beast...but..but it's fireball...why does it suck :( In general though I want to try to stick to fire or enchantment spells...wall of fire looks nice...I really only took melf's cause it sounded cool

That's War Wizardry; War Wizard's Expertise is a different feat.

War Wizard's Expertise also gives -5 to hit allies.

Whoops, so it does. I missed that last line.

Yeah, that's good to have, although you're missing out on some good staff and orb implements. I find that with party tactics and cooperation (and Fire Shroud), you can do without this, but that takes practice.

I heartily second the Magma Beast. I just DM'd a game this past weekend where a Pyromancer joined the group and had that spell. He summoned it amidst an encounter and, working with his group, made incredible use of it without ever giving it a single command.

Not giving the beast commands means your character is essentially slowed the entire time this thing is out, but as long as your allies manage to steer monsters into it and keep out of it's way, you've got another ally on the field which smashes enemies and, more importantly, if placed well enough it'll keep enemies off the rest of the party.

Never underestimate the value of a new target for your enemies to gnaw on.
