I thought we all knew it was this, to the point where I thought it was already mentioned in the comic. If not, I'm pretty sure there were a few mentions to smuggling in Donovan and a few jokes about smuggling in her porn stash. It's how Mookie always writes Miranda.

No, I would really like to be there with you on the stupidity of building a secret entrance to the magical pentagon, really, I would like to care, but all my WTF?!! GARGH!!! emotions are tied up in how the frigging hell donovan stunt and quilt, three distinctly nonspellcaster type people, were able to even so much as reach this supposed secret entrance. Then I have some spillover into how the *&^$&^%$*&% that even works. Since as far as we can tell, the sanctum was floating in some magical demiplane or something, so its not like its built to be a house on a hill you can tunnel into. And even if it WAS, DJ MOVED THE ENTIRE GORRAM BUILDING AND ITS NOW WALKING THE&^%$&^%$ AROUND!!!"

The sanctum was never on earth, and it was always floating in bland background.
So I guess it's not really a tunnel, but just another pocket dimension or something like that.

I love Miranda' excuse for making this thing:

Yeah, it worked out in the end, but I would be more understanding if she, while studying divination magic and as a vision, saw this as necessary, and using it to sneak Donovan in for kinky time was just an added bonus.

Come to think of it, I would imagine the place not being a very good place given it's meant for wildly different lifeforms. Then again, it's probably one of the greatest repositories of magical lore out there, so I could imagine Miranda getting steamy about doing it in there.

Because DJ Callan isn't the single greatest human mage in existence. He only became the first Human Archmage because he was capable of mind-controlling all of the existing Archmagi without them even suspecting that was the case. He cheated.

Obviously this makes him inferior to his chosen successor, particularly because he presumably chose her as a figurehead while he carried out his Evil Plan.

Also, I am amused that the Mutilis Defense is applicable here. That said, I'm not even sure Mookie knows how this "tunnel" was both capable of crossing planes without any Archmage ever noticing, much less how it is still functional now that DJ has remade the damn place into some sort of Tentacle Fortress
