Re: Dominic Deegan, Mk. XLVII: A Flat World From Recycled Scrap
I can throw any pair of opposites here and it will make just as much sense:
I need to find the balance between love and hate, between war and peace.
Speaking of balance between opposites, Dominic was the balance between chaos and order years ago (didn't make much sense back then either).
So after all his development, the best thing Jacob can be is his brother.

I don't think I'll be able to take it if Jacob 'fixes' all Blight for ever.

Re: Dominic Deegan, Mk. XLVII: A Flat World From Recycled Scrap
Oh no no no, Dominic was the balance between EVERYTHING. Not just order and chaos, those were the last things he got truly exposed to. He got exposed to everything on his travels, both good and bad and it was only after absorbing acibek and a chunk of celestos chaos attack that he was able to evolve into his final form. Mecha Dom. He had armor, a fancy cloak, and apparently a 4th eye to make celesto SEE THE TRUTH as he never has before. So let jacob have his moment of blight/life balance, it still places him about 50 rungs below the guy currently having his brain snuggled out of his skull as he gives the king everything he wants.

Re: Dominic Deegan, Mk. XLVII: A Flat World From Recycled Scrap
In compliment to Mookie, if nothing else happens today then the comic that he linked to in today's newspost is what I consider one of the best moments from his genuinely best storyline to date.
So much so, that I spent 10 seconds staring vacantly at today's strip and then thoroughly enjoyed rereading all of Visions of Doom for half an hour.
Ah, better days in simpler times.~ CAUTION: May Contain Weasels ~

That's a lot of (probably?) meaningful esoteric stuff said about what comes down to Jacob depowering, at the cost of most of his body, one of the snugglear warheads, another one of which Luna got rid of by throwing a big zombie at it.

Re: Dominic Deegan, Mk. XLVII: A Flat World From Recycled Scrap
To be fair, there are very few problems that CANT be solved by hurling a giant zombie at it.

I remember when we were playing a Survival/.Horror campaign in 3.5, I was playing a L/N cleric who could Rebuke undead. I threw zombies at a lot of things. The DM was pretty mad :/

Re: Dominic Deegan, Mk. XLVII: A Flat World From Recycled Scrap
Oh no, Luna has moved to just in front of a country-destroying monster bomb and is pelting it with fire, there's no way she can survive thi-bwahahahahaha yeah right.
I wonder if Mookie knows even a little how unbelievably ridiculous all of this is.

Re: Dominic Deegan, Mk. XLVII: A Flat World From Recycled Scrap
That thing must be moving pretty slowly if, based on panel 5, she was right in front of it when she turned around, and still had three panels of time to waste. Or Mookie has no idea how to portray time accurately in comics. Either way, the tension would have been completely ruined if it were there to begin with.

Re: Dominic Deegan, Mk. XLVII: A Flat World From Recycled Scrap
Regardless of whether or not Luna is saving Maltak (from being pierced by tentacles to boot) you'd think raining pieces of Snuggly on a location will not be good for the environment... Or is it ok so long as the Orcs are saved? That would be glorious. The purified energy will heal Rilian who'll acknowledge Jacob as the Necromancer Supreme and he'll spend the remainder of his days bumming around with Dominic.

Re: Dominic Deegan, Mk. XLVII: A Flat World From Recycled Scrap
What is this bomb anyway?
The other ICBM things were a combination of the power of the beast and necromancy (at least I think they were).
This bomb is supposed to be special because it has super powered Rillian necromancy. Only this part was stripped away by Jacob, so why is it supposed to be a bigger threat than the bomb that just exploded on Luna?
Oh, I forgot, tentacles and pointy teeth.

Re: Dominic Deegan, Mk. XLVII: A Flat World From Recycled Scrap
No, the original shots were blight bombs. TIM added Snuggly juice to this one. If there was a combination it would be something like the inherent weaponry of the sanctum, infused with blight siphoned off by saving rillian dry. Im honestly unsure exactly what the snuggly juice is for, though we could just assume it was done to cause a different type of blight effect. Instead of rot, it is tentacles and such.
Hey, on this subject, can someone tell me why TIM did that in the first place? Its like, "Here I am, fighting these guys. I think I will take a break and super charge a random explosive that has nothing to do with any of us here." Unless rillian breaks free and starts attacking the deegan squad with blighted tentacles, it just seems like a wasted effort."Interdum feror cupidine partium magnarum Europae vincendarum"

Re: Dominic Deegan, Mk. XLVII: A Flat World From Recycled Scrap
Necromancy. Apparently it can be used in necromancy as jacob tore the blight he infected his baby brother with (through his good leg) and used that on his skeletal arm. Im not sure if it is generally considered like toxic waste, or an intentional thing necromancy does though.

Re: Dominic Deegan, Mk. XLVII: A Flat World From Recycled Scrap
Based on Jacob's babbling last Friday, I think Blight is supposed to be the equal and opposite reaction to White Magic. They cancel each other out but are at the same time two halves of the same whole, equivalent to Nakta and Akta.
I think.
And anyway, what's going on here is that Jacob neutralized the Blight component of the superbomb and now Luna's burninating the Snuggly part. I am at least mostly confident in that assessment.Last edited by Nerd-o-rama; 2013-01-15 at 02:24 PM.

So the next C-list character to be roped into this finale will be... whoever lives in the mountain now. Hansi?

Hansi, his orc girlfriend, maybe the other crone and Hukthak. I'd be willing to bet Stonewater has to be involved too, and somehow all the other orcs like Melna and Outrage Chief will be along for the ride.

If you look at the mountain, she's going to land precisely within the crone-cave. Not even going to hit her head on some mountain side and slide down there.
