No. A binding check is not a skill check and it does not specify that you can take 10.

Q 1544
Several creatures in the various monster manuals have Alignment: Any [Alignment Component]. Does such an alignment group come with a qualifier for the frequency as per MM I p. 305?
Does this mean that such creatures are for example always Any Evil, or merely usually or often?

Re: Simple Q&A D&D 3.5 (by RAW) XXII
Q 1545
A Ranger gains a "+2 bonus on weapon damage rolls against" his favored enemies, which can be increased every 5 levels.
Does this applies too to unarmed strikes and natural attacks (for example with the Wild Shape Ranger variant) or only to weapons?Spoiler
DM: At the end of the meal, the innkeeper is bringing you the cheese plate. Roll for initiative.
PC: Excuse me, what?
DM: I said, roll for initiative. They like their cheese really ripe in these parts. They have the ooze type.
"Excuse me, but... is it a GOOD or a BAD thing when the DM can't help bursting into laughter every time he hears the phrase 'level-appropriate encounter'? No, just curious..."

A 1545 Yes.
Nothing in the Ranger Favored Enemy description excludes natural weapons from the weapon damage bonus. For categorization purposes, even weaponless attacks have "weapon damage rolls".An unarmed strike is always considered a light weapon.

Re: Simple Q&A D&D 3.5 (by RAW) XXII
Q 1548: Does Body Outside Body (Complete Arcane, page 100) also duplicate the spells currently in effect on you onto your duplicates because they are "indistinguishable duplicates of you," or does it *not* duplicate the spells currently in effect on your duplicated because they are not on the list of things it specifically duplicates?
Of course, by the time I finish this post, it will already be obsolete. C'est la vie.

Q 1549
A. Activating a wand or ring requires a standard action even if the spell being cast is a swift action spell correct?
B. If yes, is there any feat, class feature, or item that will allow you to activate a wand or ring as a swift action (assuming you are already holding said wand or wearing said ring)?

Re: Simple Q&A D&D 3.5 (by RAW) XXII
Q 1550
The Ghostwalker PRC (from Sword and Fist) gains the ability to Shadow Walk (as per the spell). The character travels at a rate of 1 mile in (11- number of Ghostwalker levels) minutes. Therefore, at the 10th Ghostwalker level the time is 1 mile in 1 minute. However, the Legacy Champion can advance it to 1 mile in (negative number) minutes. My question is: what happens?
Q 1551
Can you track by scent while using the Shadow Walk spell?

Re: Simple Q&A D&D 3.5 (by RAW) XXII
A 1549 A No.
Activating a ring requires the activation activity described for it. Some rings work continually once you put them on. Some rings activate instead for only a specified duration when you put it on, which takes a move action. If it's already on but not active, it will require another move action to take it off first. Rings which have no other specification require a command word (a standard action that does not provoke attacks of opportunity).
For wands, the answer depends on whether your campaign uses Rules Compendium, because that book also introduced a change wherein a spell trigger item (wand) takes the same amount of time to activate as the spell it contains would to cast. If your campaign does not use Rules Compendium, it's instead always a standard action or the casting time of the spell, whichever is longer.
A 1549 B No.
Not to my knowledge.
A 1551 No.Because of the blurring of reality between the Plane of Shadow and the Material Plane, you can’t make out details of the terrain or areas you pass over during transit, nor can you predict perfectly where your travel will end.Last edited by Curmudgeon; 2013-05-04 at 06:16 PM.

A1550 provisional: No idea. I doubt there is any RAW that covers what happens when you get negative numbers from Legacy Champion; assume the universe has divided by zero and work from there.
Projects: Homebrew, Gentlemen's Agreement, DMPCs, Forbidden Knowledge safety, and Top Ten Worst. Also, Quotes and RACSD are good.

I actually think this is wrong. The full text says "can’t make out details of the terrain or areas you pass over during transit". Odor and sound waves aren't part of the terrain or area, they float in the air.
I've started a new thread to hash this out (as per thread rules).Last edited by 123456789blaaa; 2013-05-04 at 08:26 PM.

A 1552
There's no "(typically) considered" issue where it comes to Humanoid; that's a specific D&D creature type. "Humanoid-shaped" would require consideration, but "Humanoid" does not.

Re: Simple Q&A D&D 3.5 (by RAW) XXII
Q 1552 Clarification
So a humanoid with extra appendages (e.g. human with Dragon Wings and/or Dragon Tail) pays normal price but an Aaasimar/Tiefling (Outsider with humanoid shape) pays extra? Funny.
A 1553
Yes, the total stats would be:
STR -2, DEX +4, CON -4, INT +4, CHA -2
Q 1554
Besides barring Rebuilding (PHB II) in general is there a rule against a fallen paladin rebuilding his character?
Q 1555
Can a cleric cast atonement on himself?Last edited by Andezzar; 2013-05-05 at 02:18 AM.

Re: Simple Q&A D&D 3.5 (by RAW) XXII
A 1553 [correction] Ask your DM.
While there's nothing wrong with Andezzar's arithmetic, the issue is whether this combination is permitted by the RAW. From page 104 of Monster Manual:Gray Elf Traits (Ex)
These traits are in addition to the high elf traits.
- +2 Intelligence, -2 Strength.
Fire Elves
Fire elves are identical with elves as described in Chapter 2 of the Player’s Handbook, except for some differences in racial traits.

is there a wondrous item like eberron's infinite scrollcase that is, in fact, infinite? (i.e. can hold infinite scrolls)

Re: Simple Q&A D&D 3.5 (by RAW) XXII
Q1557: Is there any way to gain Light Sensitivity or a similar trait? Spells, feats, templates, any of that is fine. I am looking for a mechanical way to add a sensitivity to daylight/bright lights to a race that doesn't have it naturally, as silly as that sounds.

Unless you find a template that adds it, you would have to fiat it. I only know of one such template the Katane form DR 313, and that one is an acquired template and gives lots of other stuff.
