The Incomplete Domain [Ravenloft]

[old, kept for reference] Deep within the swirling, poisonous mists of Ravenloft, an new domain stands. Not yet directly connected to the rest of the demiplane, it appears suddenly and incongruously from the mist as a japanese temple. Shadowy armies mill about in the mist outside the temple, but seem completely oblivious to what is going on... everything outside of the temple is unfinished, as if the creation of the place had been interrupted at a critical stage..

As you approach the building, a large symbol to either side of the gate in the main wall catches your attention: a grey circle, bordered in royal blue, bearing a stylized fox head. [/old]


The domain of Balnaroth, ancestral home of the shadow werefoxes and location of the NorZilliar family manor.

Krystal wakes up. The first thing she notices is that sanctuary is shockingly intact considering all that went on. As she looks around, she sees people from the temple everywhere. Some sleeping, others sitting quietly in groups.

Her father and her uncle are off in a corner, discussing something quietly while Myobi bustles around seeing to everyone's comfort. She looks at the still sleeping Exachix and walks to the garden door in bafflement...

There, she sees the reason for the strangeness: where the garden ought to be is a swirling formless void of shadows and mist. Realization comes to her then: they have been caught.

[AmberVael]

Earin pulls himself awake, rubbing his head where it had hit the wall earlier.
"Ow."
He looks around vaguely, then pulls himself together.
"What is this place?"

[Kyrian]

((Wait, so does this mean there is no sanctuary at Inari's?))

[Deadly]

mIlias opens his eyes and looks around cautiously while slowly getting up in a sitting position.

[AmberVael]

Earin glances around, and he notices Vael.
"That bastard..."
He walks over to him, drawing his rapier.

Vael remains unconcious.

(( Everything back in Town is "normal": the Dark Powers were interrupted. This is merely a shadow of the temple, although the defenders very nearly lost. As I warned several of you: I didn't hold back - your actions mattered. If Inari had been killed, or if the hands of darkness had just a little more time, then this would be a lot more inconvenient... ))

*Myobi looks at Earin*

No fighting, Earin. If you want to know why, look out the door

mIlias searches for his sword but finds nothing. He seems quite displeased by this.

[AmberVael]

"We'll all be safer without him."
Earin's eyes are cold and hateful as he stares at Vael.

[DarkHunter]

mKrystal and mlKyrian stare out the door with a mixture of fear and annoyance

They betrayed us...

Loki sits in a corner with a stunned expression, mumbling endlessly that he can't feel something.

[Deadly]

After a short while mIlias shrugs and stops looking for his sword. He looks up and grins to himself.

[AmberVael]

Earin trembles with supressed rage and puts his rapier away.
"If he so much as looks at any of us wrong..."
He gives Vael one last glare and walks over to the door and looks out.

Vael mentally relaxes, glad that he wouldn't have to defend himself. He appears to remain unconcious.

(( Shadows and mists, and the vague form of armies gathered to attack [they never will, but Earin doesn't know that] ))

Earin looks over to Myobi.
"What is going on?"

[DarkHunter]

*Fenric looks up from his conversation*

We are in Ravenloft, Earin. Everyone who "died" or was unconscious at the end of the battle was captured. As you can see by looking around, the summoned things are all gone, but everyone else is sitting around waiting to see what happens next.

We have to put our faith in Inari, and our friends back home, to rescue us. Fortunately, our side appears to have prevailed - the transferance did not occur, or we'd be repeating yesterday's battle every day forever.

[AmberVael]

Earin glares at Vael again.
"And what is this filth doing here?"

Vael mentally flinches at the term.

[Deadly]

mIlias stand up and walks over to look out the door. He raises an eyebrow at the sight, and leans against the doorframe.

[DarkHunter]

*Fenric shrugs, having been in blood rage at the time. Krystal looks over at Vael*

He came in with a small wave of folk. I suspect someone escaped through the mirror and alerted Trog's... He was Fenix for most of the fight, though. He fought mirror-Myobu and made him explode again. The explosion seems to have turned him back to Vael.

[AmberVael]

Earin looks confused.
"Fenix? Is this another persona that he made?"

[DarkHunter]

*Fenric goes "ah"*

To the best of my understanding, Fenix is a celestial of some sort that has posessed Vael in an attempt to redeem him. By his account, though, Fenix seems to have annoyed half the Town in trying.

[Deadly]

mIlias continues to look out the door, idly juggling a small ball of fire. He seems strangely unaffected by the situation, a mad grin on his face.

[AmberVael]

Earin scowls.
"Vael will use that to his advantage, if I know him."

[DarkHunter]

Kyrstal looks at Vael distrustfully, Fenric just shrugs.

[AmberVael]

Earin sighs.
"So how do we get out of here?"

Vael wonders how long he will have to wait before he can 'wake up' without looking suspicious.

[Deadly]

mIlias throws his ball of fire into the air and grabs it again before turning around A drink would be great now. Any drinks in this place?

[DarkHunter]

Myobi tries to use her "sushi bar" power, but it fizzles. mKrystal rolls her eyes and creates a bottle of Vodka for mIlias.

Knock yourself out. Please.

*Fenric shakes his head*

We cannot: if we venture into the mists, it will kill us. We have to be rescued from the outside.

[Exachix]

Exachix stirrs himself awake.

"Oh by the gods..."

[Deadly]

mIlias takes the bottle, looks at it and grins Wish I could do that. he says and leans back against the doorframe, drinking while watching the army outside.

[AmberVael]

"Are you certain of that? There is no way out? Surely there is something..."
A thought comes to him and he glances over to where the mirrors normally are.
