Cadence is a princess. She marries Shining Armor. Would this not technically mean Shining Armor is now royalty through marriage and, by extension, Twilight Sparkle?

It doesn't generally work that way, though might serve as grounds for something lesser grade to satisfy certain expectations. (Eg: Twi's parents were elevated to lower nobility so Cadence "didn't marry a commoner" with possible extension to Twi via her parents. Which isn't likely IMHO)

And by shenanigans I meant a nominal change happens followed by a reset button of some kind, allowing for both title and status quo. And that's assuming the title is accurate and reflects the material include somewhere.

depends on how their system works. i doubt it would be this way given the general warm fuzziness of the rulers, but it wouldnt be unheard of for such a marriage to terminate his status as a member of twilight's family.

In The Ticketmaster, Rarity remarks that if she should marry Prince Blue Blood, she would become a princess. This means the one getting married will get a royal title. We can at least be certain then that Shining Armor should be a Prince now.

So, from there? Well, it's true that it could go either way. It could be that siblings and immediate family get nothing. Or maybe the do get some kind of honorary royal title so as to fit into the scheme of "Not marrying into the common rabble".
Personally, the latter isn't too bad a stretch.

The second part is not.

That's the meaningful difference. Sure the show could, but possiblity means little. That kinda of weird after-the-fact technicality after the fact would be I think pretty unique, and therefore unlikely since it runs the high risk of weirding out the viewer.

The closest I can think to normal expectations would maybe run...
