Yes, I'm aware of that. I was curious about before Man of Steel, because I believe that was a fundamental point of debate on the movie. Has he been forced to deal with kill-or-let-die decisions before? Has he ever not found a third option?

1 Jammy Dodger (I was promised tea)

He once killed alternate universe versions of Zod and friends (when they were depowered by gold kryponite no less) because of their promise to never stop trying to escape and kill everyone. This caused a bit of a breakdown for him and prompted him to take a "never kill" rule after that.

Do you consider the DCAU to be cannon? He leaves Darkseid on Brainiac's exploding moon-base at one point; that might count for a twofer. Neither one stays dead, but they are down and out for a while, and Supes doesn't usually rely on comic-book-logic meta-knowledge.

The whole Justice League agrees to dump Doomsday in the phantom-zone, too, after he says much the same thing as the General Zod example above. But that also might just be a case of being unable to kill him.

Well, technically, he tried, twice, to kill Doomsday before this. The first time was there first battle where they beat each other to "death.". The second was were he and Waverider transported Doomsday to seconds before the big squish and left him there.

I take it the guy in the newest comic is supposed to be Booster Gold, but who is 'Ted'? Is that supposed to be Skeets or is it a different character?

Edit: Looked it up. Ted is Blue Beetle. I don't know anything about him, hence why I couldn't figure it out.

Yeah, Ted Kord, Blue Beetle. Booster and Ted are probably one of the most iconic bromances in the history of DC comics.

Ah. Yea 80% of my DC knowledge stems from the old Justice League/Justice League unlimited cartoons. I don't remember seeing blue beetle in that (or at least don't remember an episode about him) but the Booster Gold episode is one of my favorites.

Of course it has been a while, so I am not even sure if Blue Beetle was in that one.

In the panel with Booster Gold and Blue Beetle, in the background, I think I also see Longshadow AKA Apache Chief and Vibe.

Coidzor turned me on to this recently, and oh my God, it is adorable! That's all I have to say for now.

EDIT: I take that back. Shouldn't Blue Beetle be in kindergarten or something?

This is old school Blue Beetle. The one without freaky extraterrestrial powers.

The three of them are still all adults at the same point in some incarnation. That's my point on that.

Ah, I see. I'm just use to the new cartoon I guess. Though I have no clue what that things status is anymore.

Everyone here should be the Silver Aged versions, hence Barry instead of Wally, Hal instead of Kyle.

You... do realize that JL8's Green Lantern is Hal, right?

Although I would kind of like to see JL8 Kyle. I imagine he'd be the artistic, spacey sort.

    No love for John?

I admit that my main exposure to GL is through the DCAU, so I'm probably fairly biased. My first exposure was in an ensemble story that I don't remember the name of, where it was Guy annoying the hell out of Batman.

Usually thats swiftly followed by Batman knocking Guy out cold with a punch... a trait they abused when Hal came back from being dead but thats a story for another day...
