Re: JL8 - Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman in Grade School
Those panels of Sinestro at the end are pretty much the perfect introduction to the character. I'm impressed by Yale on a regular basis.

Re: JL8 - Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman in Grade School
One of the best renditions of the Green Lantern oath I have seen. Most of the time I think it is done poorly, but I actually like how Yale did it. Another good job!

Re: JL8 - Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman in Grade School
Heh. I'm not very familiar with DC, so I had to look it up, but this comic marks the first time I Googled a JL8 reference. Rather clever hat-tip.

Another great update! I don't know what I like more- Adam Scott calling Sinestro "Thaal," Sinestro's temper tantrum, or Barry's candy ring.

Re: JL8 - Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman in Grade School
None, really.
The Black Lantern Corps are basically zombified heroes and villains that happened in a big event. Since J'onn was dead at the moment he was one of the Black Lanterns, hence the reference.
Sinestro instead went on to found the Yellow Lanters, or Sinestro Corps (yes, Thaal has never been much for modesty), based on the emotion of fear.

Awww, poor J'onn. He's trying to fit in but Hal unknowingly dissed him for bringing a flashlight. Let's hope they end up needing it.

Re: JL8 - Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman in Grade School
Um, giving off light would probably risk lighting the forest on fire. It would also require them to think of it.
J'onn is just not inclined to that kind of thought pattern, neither is John in all probability.
Sinestro won't mention it cause humor/doesn't wanna risk being blamed if things go badly.
Hal and Guy and Barry are probably not sharp enough to think of it."I Burn!"

Barry's a blue lantern alright, because that is the most hopeful thing I've ever read.

Re: JL8 - Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman in Grade School
Also shows that he's smarter than he acts - he zeroed right in on the exact bait that would make Thaal want to come along, and delivered the hook.

Re: JL8 - Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman in Grade School
I like how JL8 is actively pushing me to read the more obscure parts of the DC mythos.
