Those panels of Sinestro at the end are pretty much the perfect introduction to the character. I'm impressed by Yale on a regular basis.

The first... twelve or so?... issues of Karen's solo, with Conner and Palmiotti writing and Atlee as sidekick, were really pretty good when I read them, IIRC.

One of the best renditions of the Green Lantern oath I have seen. Most of the time I think it is done poorly, but I actually like how Yale did it. Another good job!

Heh. I'm not very familiar with DC, so I had to look it up, but this comic marks the first time I Googled a JL8 reference. Rather clever hat-tip.

Debatable. She had a lot of enjoyable runs there after before the series got scrapped and she go re-invented.

Also, as an Aside, while there totally different characters now, I like the current Powergirl and Huntress run in as far as what I've read of it.

Another great update! I don't know what I like more- Adam Scott calling Sinestro "Thaal," Sinestro's temper tantrum, or Barry's candy ring.

    None, really.

The Black Lantern Corps are basically zombified heroes and villains that happened in a big event. Since J'onn was dead at the moment he was one of the Black Lanterns, hence the reference.

Sinestro instead went on to found the Yellow Lanters, or Sinestro Corps (yes, Thaal has never been much for modesty), based on the emotion of fear.

Can't J'onn just see in the dark? So the only person who'd need it would be Barry? Except can't he move fast enough to give off light himself as well?

Um, giving off light would probably risk lighting the forest on fire. It would also require them to think of it.

J'onn is just not inclined to that kind of thought pattern, neither is John in all probability.

Sinestro won't mention it cause humor/doesn't wanna risk being blamed if things go badly.

Hal and Guy and Barry are probably not sharp enough to think of it.

Exactly what I was thinking. Yale once again does a great job of presenting DC characters and their personalities.

Also shows that he's smarter than he acts - he zeroed right in on the exact bait that would make Thaal want to come along, and delivered the hook.

I'm not trying to say Yale is a bad writer (because he is a very talented one), but Blue Lantern Barry first appeared in Blackest Night (2009-2010)

I think that is the point. We know Adult Barry becomes a Blue Lantern in the main continuity. Elros is saying that Yale is demonstrating this facet of Adult Barry's personality in 8-year old Barry very effectively.

I like how JL8 is actively pushing me to read the more obscure parts of the DC mythos.
