Once in the courtyard, Ovelia tapped each pokeball on her belt, one by one, until she had all the pokemon out. Once they were all released, she greeted them.

"Hello, I am Ovelia a ranger and a friend." She said to the new pokemon (Lickitung, Luxio, Shinx, Karrablast). "I hope we can work together and I wanted to get to know some of your skill sets." She explained before nodding at her existing pokemon (Nidorina, Gallade, Ponyta, Growlithe), "These are other friends of mine and friends of yours." She said before introducing them.

The pokemon have differing reactions to this. The Lickitung seems alright with the situation; he just wants food. The luxio pulled its child in closer to itself and seemed rather wary. And the Karrablast seemed ok with the whole situation.

The pokemon nearly fainted from the blow, but managed to keep its footing somehow. The three spit acid: two at Zephyr and one at you. Zephyr took 24 and 19 special poison, and you took 23 special poison damage.

Luckily talking wasn't that big a deal for Oscar, but the blindness wasn't helping any. He lays down on the ground and shields his eyes, trying to spot any movement coming from the farmhouse. Part of him wanted to rush down and slay the Oddishes, but he knew he was outnumbered. If someone came out, he'd see about capturing them. If not, he'd leave and head to the nearest town as fast as possible and inform the church.

Perception despite being blinded by the blast (1d20)[15]

The house showed no signs of movement of life. No lights came on, not guard pokemon barked alarms, and nobody exited the building. However, you did see a small group of the oddish - about 10 to 15 of them - racing towards where you were. You could probably outrun them, or you could stay and fight.

"I have no intentions of harming your child." Ovelia promised, "Food, protection, friendship, training, it will all be there." Ovelia listed. "However, I do have a mission coming up soon so I was hoping we could make sure everyone was in the best shape." Ovelia explained before trying to coax the new team into training, working out, and practicing combat though she was careful to make sure nobody was hurt in the process.

The oddish faints from the flying type assault, and the other two continue to attack, this time at the more menacing murkrow. Shadow takes 20 special poison damage and 20 special grass damage.

One by one, Ovelia went through each pokemon.

She started with the Karrablast since he seemed the most ok with it. She quickly grabbed some broken branches, sticks, and logs that were used to practice cutting and set them in front of him and worked with him on cutting practice. (Fury cutter :P ) Once he was cutting things in single quick swipes, she moved on.

Next on her list was the Lickitung. It seemed to enjoy food so she made sure to bribe it with food throughout training. With him, she did a mix of practicing the accuracy and speed of his tongue strikes with her ability to dodge. She tasked him with trying to tap her while she did her best to duck, dodge, weave, and avoid the attacks. Once she was confident that her Lickitung could move fast and accurately, striking fast before the enemy realized what hit them, she moved on.

Next Ovelia tried to encourage the Shinx and Luxio to partake in the training she tried to encourage the mother that if her son was stronger and having fun that he'd be both safer and happy. For the first training session she tried to keep the training light. She set up a small little obstacle course and encouraged the Shinx to 'race' and try to be the fastest ever! At the end she set up a small training dummy to practice his 'ferocious tackles' on. The entire time she encouraged the Shinx and offered him praise in order to boost his confidence and show the mother she wasn't going to hurt him.

Finally, she moved on to her own pokemon. Nidorina practiced accuracy by firing at an archery target with her poison stings, Maximus ran his own obstacle course that Ovelia was used to doing with him, and Sir Hector and Ovelia ran through their sword exercises as they did most days.

While it lacked seasoning, it wasn't too bland and left your stomach feeling satisfyingly full. By the time all the food had been caught, cooked, and consumed, it was early evening.

When the dragon closed the gap, Happiness let out a cry of glee and gentily flapped her wings, bringing her higher in the air. Fury spat fire into the water in frustration, before flapping hard to gain altitude. Janan smirked as the dragon strived hard for the direct approach. The game continued like this for a minute, Happiness creating a gap and then enjoying her self as Fury flapped wildly after her futile. Try to out maneuver her Fury.

Fury shot an angry glare at Janan, before belching fire at the Togetic. She squeaked in surprise, but the flames never met her. Taking her surpise, Fury flapped upwards, spitting more fire, trying to keep her pinned against the water. Happiness looked sorrowfully at Janan. This is fire! You said no fire! was clear on her face, but Janan didn't intervene. Her pleading for a referee was enough time for Fury, who shot into a dive bomb. Happiness was fast, but the dragon had momentum, coliding into her and latching on, wicked toothy grin stuck on his face.

Good job Fury.

The training seemed to be useful for two pokemon. Hapiness seemed disgruntled at the use of fire, while Fury was simply gloating his victory happily by flying overhead and spouting bits of fire out of his nostrils.

Happiness, quite contrary to her name, turned her back to you and sulked. It seemed that she was a bit of a sore loser. No doubt though, after a bit of time, she'd revert to her bubbly self.

Theo left the creatures where they fell, not particularly worried about his own appetites. The dirty monsters hit me with that weird acid... I should see a healer, he thought to himself as he returned both his flyers. With his remaining time, Theo would go to a healer's stand and patch himself up to full. He'd also shop around for more of those healing gourds that he used on his previous job. He'd buy as many as he could afford, relying on this job and his stash of pokeballs at home to replenish his pockets. When all was done, he'd await Siren at the usual spot.
