In defence, some people get pretty pedantic going the other way about rules, and levels and what characters doing one thing or another is possible or means about thier levels. Just because he's doing it the other way, not in support of the comic, isn't a reason to jump all over him.

I don't think Elan dinged and got a new level. I think the increase in his bluff skill is a temporary one brought about by the wearing of a Goatee of Charisma +2.

Nale didn't need the enhancement versus Halee because she was already hopeful that Nale-disguised-as-Elan felt the same way about her.

Great, now he'll be conjuring hot female green chicks all the time - even less chance it'll work. Except I guess against goblins and orcs. And makes the issue of how he got rid of Nale's goatee even more of a puzzler - he'd be powerless against it!

(note: I don't actually think it's much of a puzzler; I'm sure he just shaved, even with Sovereign Glue)

It did occur to me, for a second. But we knew there'd be a team-up special, so I was keeping both options in mind.

You know, I actually kind of wished Elan had kept Nale's Goatee on; I kind of like that look better.

Then again, it screams "Look at me, I've EEEEVIL!" and Julia comments in the comic where she's being kidnapped that the goatee doesn't look good.

Unless he somehow took a level in the 1st edition Green Lantern class. Then he'd be okay with the goatee, but powerless against a common quarterstaff or club.

On the other hand, maybe the change was so profound that he managed to take a level in the otherwise unreleased 4th edition Green Lantern class! We can only imagine how jealous Vaarsuvius would be at Elan's--nay, Elanicalicus'--unparallaxed level of power!

No, Tura, it was a hamster and his name was Boo I assume, the reference is just the fact that in the very beginning of BG2 you needed to make Minsc mad, to make him rage and bend the bars of his cell "Ah, the bars! They bend and twist with my berserker strenght! Minsc and Boo are free!! ..." (c) Minsc

Even though, as a ranger, Minsc shouldn't have a rage. My thought is that Minsc was always really intended to be a barbarian, but there was no barbarian class in BG1, so they went with ranger with an additional rage ability. When BG2 came around, they retained Minsc's unique raging ranger class instead of rewriting him.

Bravo Rich, you made my day! One of the best strips ever. Anyway, I've got a question. At the end of the strip, says:

"Hilarity ensues when two adventurers from different ends of the alignment spectrum must work together in the feel-good comedy of the year."

I know, that this is the tag line frome a movie, but I don't remember, which movie it is. Can you help my?

Yep, quad-length, and the last Crayons of Time strip was also triple-length.

Just because we haven't seen him pull off any uber-Bluffs before doesn't mean he hasn't had the skill. And why wouldn't he? Pretty much every bard in the history of D&D has maxed Bluff.

Except, you know, the bards from before 3rd edition, when Bluff didn't exist yet. (Though one could make an argument about the "Fast Talking" nonweapon proficiency from The Complete Thief's Handbook.)

If you mean a tetrahedron with Law/Chaos/Evil/Good on the vertices, and the edges as the "secondary" alignments (with True Neutral in the centre), then that would give you the same as the regular aligment grid, except with two new secondaries: Evil Good and Chaotic Lawful. Which I suppose would keep Bor happy.

So is True Neutral a d4 that refuses to roll to a stop?
