[Nexus] The Black Dragon's Den XI

[Devixer]

"Oh, I will. It was nice to meet you, Max," Shark says, offering a hand to shake.

[Murkus]

"Nice to meet you, too. Talk soon," Maxwell promises, shaking the soldier's hand firmly and brushing the other on Shark's back before he retreats toward the exit.

[Devixer]

Shark smiles and turns back to the bar as Maxwell leaves.

[In which a person sits in the BDD]

As the lightsaber appears to be over another person walks into the Den. The signs of fighting didn't bother her much either, as long as she was a safe distance from them people could fight wherever they wanted.

Dena (as seen in my signature) scans the room. At the moment she's dressed in a pair of rather tight jeans and a low-cut yellow top. Suddenly she notices Akira, well isn't this lucky day. She never figured him for a person that'll come to the Den of all places. He did look rather out of place even now.

Sauntering over she puts her hand on the seat on the opposite side of the table he's sitting at. "Excuse me, is this seat taken?" She asks with a sweet smile.

That's funny, neither did Akira.
As Dena comes over, Akira glances over, frowning slightly.
"No, you might as well take it." Says Akira dismissively.
"The person who should be sitting there isn't here. He's late. He complains.

Shark smiles and turns back to the bar as Maxwell leaves.

John shudders and blinks, shaking off the remnants of his deadtime, "Woah, that was weird. Everything just jumped around..."
He sees that Shark is still at the bar, and continues their previous conversation as if nothing had actually happened between now and then.
"Well, it's been nice, Shark, but I must be off. Have to meet someone, you see. Good luck with that getting drunk business, I suppose."
He glances at his now quite flat drink in puzzlement, wondering why it now has a thin layer of dust floating on top.

Well then, he seemed more pleasant at the party. Or maybe she had just imagined things in relation to her bet. "Perhaps I can keep you company until your associate arrives then eh? I'm Dena by the way, we saw each other at the Skyside introduction party." She introduces herself.

[In which a person sits in the BDD]

"Huh? Oh, we did!" Says Akira, seeming surprised, and noticing Dena properly for the first time. He suddenly seems really nervous, fidgeting with his cuffs and looking around. "Right. Yeah, uhm, sure."

[Shadowcaller]

Dena chuckles softly. "Come on, I won't bite. I was just curious about you, won't you satisfy an young woman's curiosity?" Her eyelids flutters dramatically. "I myself am working for MERC, they have a office in skyside now. You live there?"

Dena's so good at calming a nervous young man down.

No wait, that's a lie. Of course her words and seductive behavior do absolutely nothing to assuage Akira's nervousness, and in fact, do quite a bit to make it worse. But at least he's producing more conversation, so that's a plus?
"Yes. I have design consultancy firm in the city..."
Name.
"Oh right, my name is Akira. Nice to meet you."

[In which a person sits in the BDD]

"Nice to meet you too Akira." The drow replies but notices his hesitation. Time to switch tactics. "So what sort of design is you company consulting? I'm a sucker for design myself." She claims, it was kinda of a part of her old job after all.

[McBish]

Ken leads Spako into Den. It does indeed look like they are the first of the group to arrive. Ken will make a quick stop at the bar dropping of a few coins before heading over to claim a table big enough to seat seven. One of the goblin servers comes over bringing over a pitcher of dark ale.

[Deathkeeper]

Spako looks around and sits down with Ken.
"Trog's is a bit more lively in its own way, but places like this remind me of home." he says fondly, but not taking any alcohol yet.

[McBish]

"Glad you like it. We like this place, it tends to offer a bit better privacy then a lot of places. When it gets warmer there is another place we like to go to, has a patio up on it's roof. A little chilly for that though." Ken says pouring himself a glass of the ale and taking a sip.

[Deathkeeper]

Spako nods.
"I'll say. You don't have to be a reptile to think the chill nowadays is uncomfortable. Yeesh."
Spako doesn't like the cold.

[McBish]

That is pretty understandable, I don't imagine there are many cold blooded creatures who really enjoy the cold. "So what is home like for you if you don't mind me asking?" Ken asks peering over the rim of his cup.

[Deathkeeper]

"My first was a hole in the ground. My second was nowhere. My third was also nowhere, but technically on a ship which stopped in plenty of places like this throughout Wildspace. Technically all three apply here." he says with a bit of a chuckle.

[McBish]

"I have lived here my whole life. At least as far back as I can remember. When you say nowhere, the second home, were you wandering or something?"

[Deathkeeper]

"Yep. You'd be surprised how hard it is to find permanent residence that doesn't stink worse than a normal kobold-hole in human cities when most of them dislike you on sight. Wildspace and Inside are so much nicer about that." he says simply.

[McBish]

"I don't think I have ever heard of Wildspace before. But if it is anything like Inside it couldn't have been a very bad home." Ken's eyes can't stop scanning the room. In a place like this he keeps his guard up. Especially just two people, a crowd of six or seven will rarely get jumped, but two are at risk.

[Deathkeeper]

Spako notices his vigilance.
"Gee Ken, you didn't take me to one of those shady bars, did you?" he jokes.

[McBish]

"It isn't that bad. I just tend to be a bit paranoid, and it certainly is rougher then Trog's. Not that I am too worried, I know I can count on you in a fight."

[Deathkeeper]

"Sounds like we'll be fine, then. Relax, Ken. I'm sure everyone will be here soon."
He folds his claws behind his head and leans back. He really feels like putting his feet up, but that'd probably be considered bad table manners, especially since he's barefoot.

[McBish]

"Yeah sure. I'm not really the relaxing type. Or I should say this is about as relaxed as I get. This place is pretty much home turf, no signs of a fight. Still I keep an eye on things, it's what I do. I mean I'm drinking aren't I, that is relaxed." He takes another drink of ale to illustrate his point.

[Deathkeeper]

Spako shrugs, and settles for crossing one leg over the other.
"Hey, most worlds without tech or magic can't purify water, so booze is the only drink around, really. So no, it's not always a sign of relaxation."
He folds his wings over his chest, forming a natural cloak. At least he's comfortable.

[McBish]

"Well it is for me. If I thought there really was going to be trouble I wouldn't drink. Just because there I don't think there isn't going to be trouble is on reason to stop paying attention." Ken says with a smile. He is the kind of kid that loves to gather information. He scan's the room not just looking for danger, but checking out who else is in the room. Maybe trying to pick up a little of what they are talking about, reading lips is just one of Ken's skills.

[Deathkeeper]

"Say, don't plenty of humans not let kids your age drink anyway?" Spako asks suddenly, only just remembering how to judge a human's age.

[McBish]

"Nope, you must be thinking about elves." Ken lies easily. Truth be told Ken drinks fairly often, and has for a few years now. He hadn't really had to keep sneaking it after he turned 15 though.

[Deathkeeper]

"Well, a teenage elf is a toddler, so they probably don't. But then, it's probably more because they're too pure for ale and just draw their perfect water from the trees or some crap. Feh. Pothoc elves."
To be fair, an extremely badass elf and his half-elf sister taught him his sword-dance style of fighting, but as much as he does exempt them from his irritation, he still found them a bit snooty.
And for the record, if an elf ever walks up and was polite to Spako, he would get a decent response. Spako only gets annoyed at snooty elves and snooty elves in hindsight. Being actually racist would be incredibly hypocritical, no matter how badly that race ruined his life.

[McBish]

"Pothoc elves indeed." Ken says turning it into a little toast. Just in time for Jim, Gordon and Meg to come into the tavern. They make their way over to join Ken and Spako.

"Hey starting toasting without us? We are not that late." Jim says as he takes the pitcher and starts to pour out three cups.

"Glad you could make it Spako." Meg says claiming a seat next to the kobold.

[Deathkeeper]

For the record, I just realized that I'm not sure how several of my characters drink things, because I don't know if there are cups shaped for people with snouts, and I don't know if kobolds, kitsune, minotaurs, etc have enough of developed lips to use a straw. I'll assume they do, especially given mammal's method of feeding young, but no clue if it goes for kobolds. I mean, they still can use a mug, it's probably just a bit messy.
"I highly doubt you know what that word means, but I'm sure you get the idea.

No late at all, fellows. Sit down, nice to see you."
he says, putting his leg down so he doesn't jab Meg with his toes. He's already enjoying being in a group.
