Greetings everyone! Long time fan, and first time poster! Glad to finally be a part of this wonderful site.

Hey all,

I'm a 19 year old from Canada who escapes to RPGs as a way to remove myself from life's stressors. Currently that means avoiding the job hunt and a horrible love-hate relationship that I developed with a girl..

Anyway, my friends and I have a gaming group, and though we used to exclusively play D&D 4e, we've gotten involved with the playtest of Next and also broadened our horizons to other games as well; Ticket to Ride is a favourite, as is Catan and Smallworld . I'm mostly here to feel like I belong somewhere, and to find inspiration for my current campaign. Umm.. If you want to know more feel free to message me!

I have been following OOTS for years, and lurking in this forum for a while. With all my gaming pals far from my city, a very respectable job and a very responsible life to live, you are my last hope before I definitely abandon childhood.
(I could get Peter Pan syndrome and pretend to be a playa, but that sounds lame).

Anyway, see you around, and possibly in some Play by Post game. Or maybe you'll find me asking n 0 0 b questions around... yeah, more likely. Feel free to RTFM me as soon as I become annoying.

I finally decided to join. There were just too many threads I wanted to post on.

For anyone curious about the name, it's based on the most enjoyable character I ever played. Some less than stellar rolls during character creation left me with a strength based ranger That's great for melee, but I wanted a ranger for ranged capability. Then I remembered that thrown weapons use strength modifier instead of dexterity, so I set out down the avalanche hurler paragon path. People said I was nuts using throwing axes instead of a longbow, but it ended up being a lot of fun, and the backstory I invented to explain his unusual fighting style led to some of the best roleplaying I've ever experienced.

I've been playing D&D for about 6 years and following the comic for a while too, but joined recently, played mostly 4ed and AD&D 2ed (and i loved it).

I've recently took the role of DM with a group of new players, so any DM tips are appreciated.
