Craft the World
I just thought I'd share with you guys a really entertaining indie game I've been playing. If, like me, you've been steering clear of Dwarf Fortress because of the intimidating scope and non-existent graphics, check out Craft the World. Self-described as a combination of Dungeon Keeper, Terraria, and Dwarf Fortress, you start with a single Dwarf, and gradually build your shelter, craft stone tools, delving for raw materials, crafting and unlocking recipes, and fighting off waves of goblins and zombies. It's a nice, approachable game, and lots of fun.

Re: Craft the World
There's a Steam review for the game which counts off how much fun you're having per hour, which I found very accurate.
Initially very fun, the length of the tech trees and the time to complete a level just drag things out and moving to the next world just makes you repeat everything from scratch again.
