Re: What Books Are You Reading Right Now?
I just read Soldier of an Empire Unacquainted with Defeat by Glen Cook. Not only is it really quite good, I was also amazed of the many similarities it has with the Witcher stories The Lesser Evil and The Edge of the World. Sapkowskis stories develop into quite different direction, but many of the locations and the cast of characters are remarkably similar. And I would even bet that Cooks character Tain was one of the big inspirations for Geralt.
SpoilerTraveling longer who is really good with his two swords and also has some basic magic spells, can sense nearby sources of magic and dabbles in medicine? We are not standing on the shoulders of giants, but on very tall tower of other dwarves.

Re: What Books Are You Reading Right Now?
For what 1984 was I really liked it. Depressing, sure, but I really did like the book. We had to read it in my senior year in high school and most of the class hated it. I finished it two weeks early. I reread it before the rest of the class was done.
I suppose I really like an Immutable Crapsack world when it comes down to it, they tend to be some of my favorite type of novels, even when characters try to do good and it goes horribly wrong.
Good book, I recommend it to people who havent read it.My opinion and a dollar will get you a cup of coffee at the 7/11, most others want the dollar too :P

Where did you start yours?
At an observation deck at Port Wander, seeing his ship for the first time and being introduced to the bridge crew/away team that he hired before arriving.

Re: What Books Are You Reading Right Now?
Well, last year after the last season of Game Of Thrones ended I finally got myself to read the books, since I got way into the series and needed more.
So, 6 months later I'm currently halfway through the fourth book (I got stuck a long time with the second one, I found it a bit boring and dull for my taste).
I've also read (in between the A Song Of ice And Fire books) some H.P. Lovecraft novels and a few AD&D books (I don't know if the D&D ones count in this case )

Re: What Books Are You Reading Right Now?
As already said, now we have a new thread.
BTW, if you're reading ASOIAF, SaintRidley has a thread on it. He's currently at the end of A Clash of Kings.Do I contradict myself?
Very well then I contradict myself. I am large, I contain multitudes. (W.Whitman)
