Re: Mr.Silver has brought your fix: Random Banter #206
Happy Earth Day! In honour of this auspicious equation, I encourage everyone to go out and read Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer, a series about a princess destined to save the Earth from the horrific weapon known as the Biscuit Hammer, that'll crack the world in two! The only problem is, her motivation for saving the world is so she can destroy it herself!

Re: Mr.Silver has brought your fix: Random Banter #206
Although tummy is in pain, I couldn't stop laughing on my way home.
I've basically not eaten a thing since morning because every single time I eat something, my stomach goes on crazymode. I finally got to the stage where I had to choose if I want to ruin my sleep schedule or hunt for food to gather energy - I went for the food. On my way to the shop it was very nice and sunny so I put my cardigan in my backpack and enjoyed the sunshine.
When I had gathered some simple food items to consume later (I'd be stopping by at Subway to get my dinner), I went to the cashier and behind me were these two girls from the States who rather obviously were buying alcohol for the first time in Scotland. They also chatted how they were going to the park to drink. When I got out there was some light rain but still full on sunshine so I thought it'll be soon over. Got my chicken avocado, started walking a bit along the street, and...
WHOOOOM RAAAAIN LOTS OF RAAAAAIN FALLING FROM THE SKYYYYYY LORD HAVE MERCY ON OUR SOULS
Needless to say I started walking home as quick as I could, chuckling to myself about the poor girls who thought they'd have a lovely time in the park. It also started hailing. Hehehe...
Well ok, now it's all sunny again, but I'm evil so I'll just laugh at the image of those two girls.Originally Posted by LaZodiac

Oh that reminds me of watching foreigners clean their cars with the water hose. In the middle of winter. Because, after all, in AMERICAN winters, you can still wash your car. Gotta make it look all pristine and not dirty. "Now, all clean, time for a nap while it dries."
And then they wake up to a car-sicle.

i just had to reread the story of old man henderson at 3 in the morning, while trying to think of ideas for a dnd character.. not smart
in other news, houses are eerily quiet with pretty much no-one else in them for a week

I guess I don't technically live alone for weeks on end because I occasionally see or hear my flatmate or landlord. But eh, close enough.
I'm now most of the way down the 1d4chan page on Old Man Henderson and my ribs hurt. Thanks a lot.Jude P.

Re: Mr.Silver has brought your fix: Random Banter #206
Most days tea makes things better. Not today. I just wish I knew what the difference was so I could stop it.
We are expensive rich people. We can let those kinds of stories go now.
People still wash their cars? But that is a waste of water! Silly people.
I hope your tummy does well with the subway sandwich. While things are this way I will not make any tea. A cup of hot sugar is not a lot of calories in return for the pain.I have found a RL gaming group but I'm willing to meet other GitP people nearby.

I found a mostly-intact opossum on the side of the road today on the bike ride home from class. Hasn't been there more than a day, tops. I'm gonna cut it up tomorrow after lab.

Hehehe...
Not that a little rain is going to stop a dedicated drinker, though...
And this is how you learn about cold!

I feel we might be missing a step here in the middle...
ION:
Today was a day. My muscle fever is finally (almost) over. I had a panic attack during a mentor talk for our project, but got asked about it and thus could describe my problem, which was a great step for me, and for solving some of the administrative problems this project has been facing. Then gaming club, where I won a game of Dominion and came in second in the second. And the driving to and from provided just a sufficiently great challenge for me to feel good at what I was doing...
IOON:
With the fibre now safely installed in our house, dad is now changing our Internet provider (the old one is a competitor to the fibre providers, and thus won't provide their service through it). This has the unfortunate consequence that now I'll have to change my main email adress which I've held for years, as it's been provided by our current Internet provider, and thus will be revoked. I see a monumental task ahead, migrating all my connected mail addresses to the new one...Clouddreamer Teddy by me, high above the world, far beyond its matters...

Here in the New England/New York area it tends to stay below freezing for a while during the winter. I don't know how well the pipes are insulated but it might not be possible to get running water from a hose during the winter.

I am in awe of your scientific spirit. I hope that the corpse survives the night Ok and is useful to you.
Cuthalion probably missed a step too. Nobody can just let a teapot whistle! It is like a phone ringing! You have to answer it quick.
I do not get it either. I like snow better when it melts back into water. I can wait for spring for that.I have found a RL gaming group but I'm willing to meet other GitP people nearby.

Re: Mr.Silver has brought your fix: Random Banter #206
Heh, I'm pre-veterinary and we've been dissecting minks all semester (plus sheep brains and hearts and cow eyes, because minks have tiny brains and hearts and eyes). I left it by the back door inside the fence so hopefully no foxes run off with it. I kind of wonder what my roommate will think when he gets home, though.

Re: Mr.Silver has brought your fix: Random Banter #206
For as long as the hose stays completely empty of water between usage, there'll be no problem at all. It takes a lot to freeze running water (which is why you should stay away from straits and other places where the water might run faster when walking across a frozen lake or river), and for as long as there's no water within, it'll stay safe for some quite obvious reasons...
Whistling teapot...? I know it must be a thing somewhere, but for me, that's one of those things you only ever see in American cartoons...
Also, I've yet to encounter someone steeping their tea in water still on the stove...Last edited by Teddy; 2014-04-24 at 06:51 PM.
