Re: The CHALLENGE chugs on!
Here's what I've got for this week:
The only piece that really fits the theme I chose:
The Keeper of Mirrors and Windows
Some sketches of holy symbols and sacred weapons of some deities for a new campaign:
The Holy Symbols
The Deific Weapons
Two Index Cards:
A Tiny Dragon
A Quarter-Orc and a Quarter-Elf
Finally, something I did before, but a little different:

Re: The CHALLENGE chugs on!
I've been trying to put it off but I don't want to just disappear without any news, so I might as well let you guys know... I'm being evicted and so I have a lot on my mind right now, and while I realise using it as inspiration would be a healthy thing to do, I haven't really been able to do that.
So I'm going to withdraw from the challenge for a little while until I can finish sorting things out, find a new place and so on. My health isn't in danger and I have support so don't worry about me, it's just a matter of figuring out where to go and what to take along :)

Re: The CHALLENGE chugs on!
Did a lot of digital drawing this week. I'm not great at it, but I'm using it to illustrate a PBP game I'm running on here, so I decided to practice. As such, there's a lot this week.
Three maps:
One of different terrains
And one of countries
Plus the starting town
Two goblins:
Pointy-nose head-and-shoulders
Bat-nose full-body
An elf:
Elf
A forest scene:
With a Dire Boar!
Three of a cave filled with magical gems:
The cavern before it
The shiny cavern
A Pebble from the caveLast edited by 'Neath the Moon; 2014-06-01 at 11:53 PM.

Re: The CHALLENGE chugs on!
I have my 1500 done, but I don't have it on this computer. (I have it on a word doc on a different computer, went on a surprise visit to family)
EDIT: Going to try to have someone email me the file with the written text tomorrow morning, so if I can I'll PM that to Glass Mouse tomorrow, otherwise I'll take the hit on my week streak.Last edited by TFT; 2014-06-02 at 04:20 AM.

Re: The CHALLENGE chugs on!
Didn't have quite enough last week, I'm afraid. Work and family time kind of put a crimp on things. Going to put those scraps to work, though, because the ground I broke is pretty interesting, to me at least.
Aiming for Wed-Thurs with the documentation. Catch ya'll then.
Also, a bit behind but heart goes out, Lissou. Keep yourself in one piece, godspeed, and may the new place bring better fortune.Last edited by redfeatherraven; 2014-06-02 at 05:22 PM.

Re: The CHALLENGE chugs on!
I have lost so much sleep this week you wouldn't believe. It was not a good week for work.
So somehow I managed to not come up with anything new at all this week, and damn me for it. I've got the night off and will try desperately to catch up on sleep and have something in early for this week later tonight, but I'm a write-off this round.
Sorry, all. I feel like I've been letting you, and myself, down a lot lately.

Geez, I almost forgot doing this status. I have this semester’s worst exam tomorrow, so my mind has been a little occupied (hopefully-not-failing is surprisingly hard work, heh). That’s also why I’m barely scraping by this week.
Wish me luck. And good luck to anyone else entering their exam gauntlets these days!Last edited by Glass Mouse; 2014-06-10 at 02:49 PM.

Re: The CHALLENGE chugs on!
High again!
After a long hiatus, I think I'm getting back on horse. So I'll be participating again, starting from this week (if you'll have me). Reminder: for photography which doesn't veer off to photo-manipulation, we've agreed to 9 photos/week. Weird as it may be, I'll be posting some pictures that I've shot a long time ago, but just now got to look at, select, edit, crop, etc. If any of the above doesn't apply any more, please let me know.
I hope you're all well. And good luck with your exams. :)"We need the excuse of fiction to stage what we truly are." ~ Slavoj Žižek, The Pervert’s Guide to Cinema

Oh, that's very good. And hey, I see you picked up photography too, that's great! I'd love to see your work,
if you don't mind sharing a link. (No pressure.)

Re: The CHALLENGE chugs on!
Most of my photos aren't on deviantart, though I want to upload more, it just takes more time. I'm glad you like them! I usually use my Fuji Finepix F200EXR, but I just borrowed my sister's old Olympus pen e-pl1, so any new pics will probably be made with that. (Also, deviantart shows which camera is used (under the 'stats" section of a photo is a 'camera data' section).

Re: The CHALLENGE chugs on!
Yay, welcome back Headless!
You're both right! The old deal was six photos for new photos, nine if you're picking out and polishing old photos (because that's significantly less work than going out there and snapping them). I know we don't have any ways of checking when anything was taken, but we're operating on the honor system, so...

Re: The CHALLENGE chugs on!
OK, cool, that's very fair. You can check when it was taken, actually! If you download a picture, right-click and press "Properties>Details" (in Windows), there's a "Date taken" field. The only thing you can't check is when it was modified, Properties will only tell you that the file was created and last modified today (because you just downloaded it).
Now, as always when I make a comeback, I get excited and pour out volume (though not necessarily quality). Since the rest of the week is expected to be hectic, I'm submitting early: I got 5 new photos (+1 variation which doesn't count), 1 old which doesn't count at all (the CD cover, because it was made a long time ago, I just uploaded it today), and 6 old (+2 variations which don't count).
@ Lycunadari: At some later point, I may bother you with questions about the Olympus camera, if you don't mind. (I was very interested in the Micro Four Thirds system, and I may have skipped it and gone straight to a standard DSLR, but I'm still curious.)

Re: The CHALLENGE chugs on!
So... I went to France for my brother's wedding and got my wallet stolen on the way to the airport to get back home.
That was a stressful two weeks as I was running to the prefecture, the embassy, etc. Got my new passport, flew back to the US, got my new bank card (over 2k was spent, more than I even had on that account, but since I reported the theft within an hour they refunded it all, which is a relief), and waiting on my new green card.
I've started working on more projects to get my mind off of everything (still being evicted, sadly :() so now I'm knitting bottle covers. They take between half an hour and an hour on average (some complicated ones take several hours). Not sure how many "pieces" they're worth, but I'll post pictures of them every week.
In other words, I'm back in the game. Not up to writing yet, but going to keep creating. Grats to everyone who kept going the whole time :)
