THe kobold gets a little worried

"Ok then, judging from the tone of yapping, that kobold is pretty pissed at me, so I'll just shut up now."

Kriosten turns to the group.
He says that only those who speak the tongue of dragons may come and meet the chief, and that we must bind our weapons. Well, I intend to go one step further.
He walk over to Serea, pulling a dagger and a brace of 10 darts from his waist, as well as his morningstar.
Fellow Mystran, would you please watch these for me?

Guess I had better go with you then, and get an honest count of this colony of vermin.

With that he will submit his bow and club to the bindings offered by the kobold.

I hope this isn't all a trap.

Precisely that. This is their home, we abide by their laws.
Kriosten smirks.
And I would hardly call the tongue of one of the most ancient and powerful races in the Realms "gibberish".

"I would hardly call kobolds one of the most pwerful races ever. Or is that gibberish also poken by dragons or titans? Whatver the case, I'll take your word for it. I wold rather stay here with people I can understand, not surrounded by possibly aggresive reatures, with my weapons." Saying this, Simbed sits down and starts playing another tune.

As you guys talk the kobold starts to walk over to bind your weapons. "They can come and take care of work if they don't want to be alone here. It is a dangerous place to be here alone without help of locals.

Kriosten looks at the rest of the group.
He says that you can come along, but you'll be put to work. Apparently it's dangerous without a local.
Turning back to the kobold.
<Draconic> My name is Kriosten. What should we call you?

The Kobold speaks in common. "All without the tongue of the dragon shall work at my house. Not safe alone out here. Now hurry IT is getting dark."

Serea smiles. "Yes, I'll hold on to them. I'll keep them safe as I realize how important they are to you."

"I do not believe the gods would put us here to immediately start a battle under these conditions. There must be something more going on. Patience and diplomacy seems to be prudent. Now I wish I focused more on my father's language lessons. A few words here and there won't help at this point."

Serea accepts Kriosten's weapons. While the kobold binds the array of weapons on her person, she studies the little one.

"They come out of the Endless Cave, we don't know what it will be tonight. Random every night."

Liam accepts the weapon bindings, uses them to secure his weapons, with a slightly bored expression on his face and stands closer to the group who would go meet the kobold chief. 'It would be interesting if the chief was an actual dragon.' he thinks, but doesn't see it as a real possibility.
"You lead, we will follow." he says only. (Draconic)

okay as you guys follow the little kobold to his village, it takes about a 20 minute walk to get back. You all can make the assumption that this kobold was sent on a scouting mission, perhaps so see what has landed near their village. As you get to his village, all magic users get this magical sensation about this place. Like it is radiating magical power of some sort. He shows you to the guard posting and he shows you too Black Scale. She is taller than Night Fire and is more built then any other kobold here and she carry's a bastard sword that is being dragged across the ground when she walks. They start talking and then she walks up to you guys and surprisingly speaks perfect common.

She has this serious looking facial expression on her, "Night Fire informed me that you were the disturbance on the area and you are here to see the chief. Well The ones who speak the tongue of the Dragon anyways. So who ever is not going to see him follow Night Fire. The rest, well, hope you make it through the night.

Night Fire speaks up at that last sentance, "If we were about to lose village, Chief would step in. No worries about death tonight. Black Scale good fighter, she protect you. Now follow me."

Kriosten nods.
Honored to meet you, Black Scale. That's quite a weapon you're carrying.
He looks back to Night Fire.

Liam and Kriosten are granted audience with the chief and he is not a kobold, he is in fact a Prismatic Dragon hence the name Multi-scale. He changes into his Human form and speaks to you guys. "You have entered the Forest with no permission, normally I would punish you but you have been placed here by powers far beyond my own. What Is your purpose here?"

As you all follow Black Scale to the armory, You notice flags of a multi colored dragon's head as their symbol. The armor and weapons are made for small kobold hands. Then she leads you to your posts at where you will be watching (all next to each other as where all the kobold guards are). "There hasn't been a steady amount or one creature coming through the Endless Cave. Last time it was 30 Giant moths that we ate for dinner, and the time before that 3 Giants came out. So we don't know what to expect tonight. They should be showing within 3 hours. So be ready and help set the traps for air assault's and traps for ground assault's got it?"

Serea nods in agreement. She'll actively and quickly help prep for battle while noting the layout of the area, the number and quality of the kobolds and traps, and fallback positions. If she sees possible weaknesses she'll point them out respectfully to Black Scale.

'I knew it!' thinks Liam, more resigned than happy that he guessed the true nature of the kobold chief.
"Well, I think we would like to know this purpose ourselves. It seems our respective gods send all of us on the mission... but the exact nature of this quest is still unknown to us."
Liam paused and continues in a bit tired tone.
"Tyr usually is more straightforward when setting goals, but I suppose it isn't for me to try to understand his ways..."
