Re: Civ V Multiplayer 7: Civ and Let Die
Just to be clear, I wasn't targeting that at anyone. It's just that the other game I'm in is moving almost ten times as fast. I wouldn't be opposed to a turn timer if people do want to do that though.

I second the motion for an establishment of a turn timer.

Re: Civ V Multiplayer 7: Civ and Let Die
Be aware that when you add a timer, it'll count the hours from the current player got the turn. So if the current player hasn't taken his turn for 25 hours and you set a timer for 24 hours, it's an instant skip for the player in question.

Re: Civ V Multiplayer 7: Civ and Let Die
Turn Timer's in, although I had to revert the turn to get to it to stick properly (it was initially giving a time limit of over 3,000 years), so banthesun will need to take his turn again within the next 24 hours.

Done. Judging from my email notifications, you had a bit of trouble with that, so I'm glad you managed to sort it out.

Evidently I'm so bad at paying attention my turn got skipped 3 times.
Perhaps I am not the person to be playing these sort of Civ games. Could you, ah, make me an AI or something?

Have you tried using email notifications? Getting them sent to your phone or an address you use a lot can really help remind you.
Alternatively, if stuff's going on that's making it hard for you to play right now, you could use vacation mode until things clear up a bit.Awesome Iron Chef avatars by Neoseph7! Murkrow avatar of coolness by Introbulus!Spoiler

Re: Civ V Multiplayer 7: Civ and Let Die
Our scouts have sent back word of other humans in the area; a village called Almaty, to the south, and people of unfamiliar visage to the east. Unfortunately, some of these people introduced themselves with axes; hopefully, contact with the rest is more fruitful.

Re: Civ V Multiplayer 7: Civ and Let Die
OOC: Wow, with everyone this tightly packed this early, the World Congress is going to be MESSY.
Also, as an FYI to people, you will probably want deals that are "enforced by game engine" if you want actual alliances. This game has the potential to be a serious bloodbath. So Much for the Glory of Rome, a Crusader Kings 2 Let's Play

Hello, Civ Fans! We've only gotten to turn 16, so not much has happened. Still, I figure some content is better than no content.
I did meet the Aztecs, however.
That mess of resources makes me burn green with envy.

Re: Civ V Multiplayer 7: Civ and Let Die
Askia's War Journal - 2980 BCE
Gao's borders remain secure. So far the city states have not proved hostile, although I remain distrustful of their current regimes. I must set aside some time to plan for what to do if their citizenry requires liberation, as Gao's did. The hostile tribes of raiders are however a more pressing concern. Once they have been dealt with, and their stolen property reclaimed, we can look to other pastures.

You know how Orcus was saying everyone's packed tightly together?
Yeah...
Pretty sure that's an island start.
I'm beginning to think going with the Honour opening might not have been best. The question now is whether to transition into Tradition instead of Piety, as was the original RP plan. Although with two Maritime city states that close and uncontested, I may be able to leverage enough food where it doesn't matter.

Re: Civ V Multiplayer 7: Civ and Let Die
I think it's possible to set the game to kick players after a certain number of missed turns. Otherwise, we could try and contact them to get them to surrender on the GMR site.
