Generally after the age of 15 or so, most people have grown past the point of hugging people for ****s and giggles and will generally only actually do it if they have some interest in doing so.

I love hugging people for no reason. But I am a hugger and a touchy person....so I guess I am not of the norm.

It was a slightly spur-of-the-moment joke about your self-proclaimed non-quietness. Don't worry, I don't really get it either.

My favorite color is probably grey, and my favorite shade for colors in general is probably "dull". I'm a boring person.

My favorite colors are really, really bright/saturated red and green on their own, any really bright saturated color alongside black, and grey. Grey's the go-to color for everything I do.

My discomfort with this is based on the fact she raised her daughter. It immediately makes me think of the way child abusers "groom" their victims to treat abuse as something normal. Statutory rape is still rape, and the parent/child relationship is one with tremendous power and influence.

That said, they're both adults at this point, they're not having kids who would be put at genetic risk, and if they're legitimately in love my discomfort with a situation is not a valid reason to condemn it if nobody is being hurt/abused. If the daughter feels sufficiently empowered to walk away from the situation without coercion due to the nature of the relationship... I'll swallow my opinions.

Pretty sure that's a satire website, but that's not necessarily relevant to the discussion of whether or not incest is okay.
I'm uncomfortable with incest because of the aforementioned power dynamics involved, not because of any genetic issues. We let people with stuff like Huntington's disease breed and that's a 50% shot at passing it on to your kids. And that one's significantly debilitating. Incest isn't particularly likely to cause any significant problems within one generation; it's generations of inbreeding that causes serious problems.

Generally speaking, I think it's fair to not approve of something, even something that has nothing to do with you and doesn't hurt people, as long as you don't make life harder for people as a result and don't claim that old privileged whine of "my special privileges are going away because of equality, I'm being oppressed."

As said, I'm not comfortable with the relationship described. It cuts close to some real abuse I've seen, where parents took sexual advantage of their children and where people did get hurt, and my knee jerk response is to look for and defend a victim. I don't think I'd want to go to a dinner party with that family, I think I would be too uncomfortable with their circumstances. But if nobody's getting hurt, I'm not going to condemn it or say it should be illegal or anything, and I'm not going to hurl slurs at them, I'd rather just keep my head down and let them do their own thing.

Because the idea of a dog that's actually a cat is merely a novel concept with no bearing in reality. While a man who is actually a woman is very much real, and very controversial, even though it shouldn't be.

Heliomance, it's an allegory. I'm pretty sure the author thought about trans people when making the cartoon - and most viewers think about them, too. But there's more to it; many cis people also easily identify with the character. This short film is about inner... duality? ambivalence? dichotomy? (not sure which English word is right) in general. Such generality is the strength of allegories.

Don't know if she actually left, but her last post was in August.

No not left just been busy sleeping 14 hours a day and being tired and depressed when I'm up (and got a bit tired of some of the fedora-y types around here and didn't have much to say rather than actively leaving). Seems I've not got schizophrenia as was thought but some form of OCD which is why I get all the self-harm impulses, hopefully start seeing a psych on the regular in a few weeks which will also be a year since I was hospitalised. Other than that not much has happened so yeah sorry to worry you Lentrax *boops ur nose*

Also think I'm maybe possibly on the asexual spectrum more than I thought after reading some stuff and going "yeah that fits" but idk. Been drawing lots and that sort of thing.
