At the college I attended, the library had little privacy booths that were soundproofed so that students who wanted to avoid even the minimal distractions that were usually present in the library had a study place where they could do so. They were tiny--basically just big enough for a desk and a chair--but that was still big enough that people sometimes made use of them for, shall we say, other purposes. :)

And there was no requirement to take any books into a booth with you, so no reason any fluids involved would ever be anywhere near a book.

I get very sweaty at times, and would not want to be in a position where I might sweat all over books. Sheets dampen on contact, books might be permanently wrinkled like that time my favorite novel was caught in the rain with me and dried all squiggly! Except presumably less so. But still. Still, there's a lot of places most libraries would have which would make for better rave rooms than the stacks themselves anyway. Or at least have them segregated off from the drinking area. So there's ways it could be less terrible, but, well, this is Tai we're talking about, so who knows.

Not to dispute Pintsize having actually some good in him, but the "I drink with you so you have less to drink" is really only applicable in the "immediate alcohol poisoning" thing and not in the "treating your problems with alcohol regard".

Anthro-PC form factors (the outer casing) seems interchangeable, right down to the amount of compute power they possess, military-grade lasers notwithstanding.

As far as the AI operating systems, because of the gestalt nature of the true AI in this universe (we put pieces together and they made AI, we don't know why) I doubt there's a lot of variety there, either. The factors that make different AI personalities aren't well-defined yet, but sure seem like they would be as complex as the factors for human personality variance (i.e.: a mix of environment and starting conditions).
