Stanley = QUACK
Wanda = PLOIP
Parson = EEP?
Sizemore = CHOO

It could be they don't have the tech. Such artifacts are probably created by some particular variety of technomancer, and they had the hats!

well we know that the eyebooks use all of eyemancy, which consists of lookamancy, foolamancy and thinkamancy. We already know that Ansom has no lookamancers but Stanley does, which is why they are using different magic items to communicate.
