Best WIS for LA 1

Short story: wildshape-based build which also needs high wisdom: I need as many wildshape uses as possible per day, but I also have a spare level. Give me a good LA 1 race and ways of getting more wild shape.

EDIT: Wait, there's a feat for that. Just the wisdom, please.

Buomman, from Planar Handbook (pg. 8–10), have a racial adjustment of +2 Wis, -2 Cha and no LA. Lesser Aasimar (Player's Guide to Faerûn, pg. 191) have +2 Wisdom for no LA, as well. I'm not sure about what templates you could use, though.


EDIT: If, as Chronos mentions below, this isn't the sort of game where you need to optimize out the gills, then you might consider Quasilycanthrope for the +1 LA template. No Wisdom adjustment, but you get DR 10/silver and a quirky variant of disguise self at-will.

I don't know what template to stack on top of it, but anthropomorphic bat and jermalaine are both +6 at 0 LA.

And just to confirm, this is going to be for an extreme high-op campaign, right? Because druids are powerful enough even on a Wis +0 race, and if your teammates aren't optimized to the gills, you're going to overshadow them without even trying.

My sources suggest:

• Zenythri

All of which have +2 wis. Your best bet may be to combine Buomman (the only one with +0 LA) with a wis-granting LA+1 template, such as Feral.

Jermaline have +6 WIS if my memory is correct, as do Anthropomorphic Bats. I know the jermaline is +0, can't remember the LA for the bat.

Anthropormorphic bat (SS). No question. +6 Wis. plus blindsense. -2Cha and -4 strength. Plus flight (20 feet). small size.

Plus you are a monstrous humanoid, so can use fangshields ACFs (CV) , which include spontaneous conversion of spells to CLW, getting hands in wildshape if you want them, and humanoid form in wildshape at 7th level.

All for 0LA.

So if you have a spare level (I'm not sure how, but whatever), I guess you could add a template to that. Feral (also SS) might work, but I don't know if it's compatible. +6 Natural Armor, +4 Str, -2 Dex, +2 Con, -4 Int, and +2 Wis, and fast healing. plus d10 hit die. (The -4 int might hurt, but the rest can be interesting or advantageous.)

Edit: I looked it up. Feral can be applied as an inherited template to a monstrous humanoid.
They often (doesn't say always) take a level of barbarian. But maybe you could bypass that.
So for 1LA you get +6 from Anthropomorphic Bat and another +2 Wis from Feral template. +8 wis in total. Too cheesy?

Jermalaine are Fey, so Feral can't be applied to them. Feral Anthropbat is still legit, though.

Buomman can be made lesser as well, if I am not mistaken. Then, add a simple race template from Dragon Magazine.

Actually, vampires are LA +10...
If we speaking about undead, then Ghoulish, Ghastly, Scion of Kyuss, Favored Spawn of Kyuss, Huecuva, and Nether Hound are have no LA adjustment and bonus to Wis
Say, Nether Hound Ghoulish Anthrobat will get +12 Wis

Shadow Vampire and Terror Vampire are both +10

Anthropomorphic Crows are better than bats, blindsense may or may not be kept in the bat depending on the reading. A crow gets -6 Str, +2 Dex, +6 Wis plus the same flight as the bat.

Edit: Also an anthro crow would generally look better than a bat.

divine minion? No increase in WIS but wildshape at will as a 11th level druid. Perhaps switching hawk for crow and being an anthrophomorfic crow divine minion?
