Hello world! I've been reading the comic and lurking on the forum for several years now, but I recently made an account on the off-chance that I'd want to say something here. I've played D&D (4e) for nearly half my life so far, but other RPGs are interesting to me as well.

Hi, total noob to d&d although i grew up watching my uncles play for years when i was a kid.

Picked up the books for 5e so i can play some duets with my husband. He used to play 3e in highschool.... not sure he's going to like 5e and idk if I'd like to dm 3e lol

Hoping to compromise with homebrews. Figured I'll probably have some questions down the road so might as well make an account here as most of my googling has brought me here anyways.

Possibility for future Skype campaigns i think would be fun. Looking forward to being dm.... i have a pretty decent list of fantasy/scifi books I've read imcluding all the core books from the dragonlance series of books. (Taking a netflix break before delving into the supplementals)

I'm also into medieval history and theology including (read as prefer) ancient relgions. In my free time i make leather goods and bookbind (along with lots of other stuff but this is getting long enough) and just recently joined the sca after a long hiatus from renfaires

I'm a new/old member, signed up a while ago but forgot about it and only started posting recently. I'm a player of DWAITAS (Doctor Who Adventures…), Mutant City Blues (Gumshoe), and most recently 5e.

I actually got into roleplaying through Doctor Who fan friends who wanted to try it out. We ran a campaign with one of my friends as the 10th Doctor and the rest of us as rotating companions. When the characters got darker and the Doctor became more shady and attached to his mortally, we just retconned that he had been the Valyard all along.

So, who else here entered RPGs or D&D from a weird angle?

I haven't played D&D in some years but did mess around with 3.5 for a while. I am now looking to get back into the fight but in 5E. I have the core books and play around in creating random characters but I am completely new to online play, especially pbp. I am unfamiliar with mythweavers as I have noticed it is the primary go-to site for character sheets (I assume that's due to the d&d sheets being copyright).

I am trying to understand applying to games, it seems that you just toss your proposed character into the hat, come up with a quick backstory which you will further develop in the ooc thread, submit a character sheet via MW, and learn some code for rolling. (Im sure there is much more that goes into it, but as I mentioned... I am just learning).

Anyway, I'm glad to be here, hope to learn more, and will eventually fight along side of your characters.
