Nice! First with the Ewocs and now aboard the Peace Moon II, the cross-talk improv of the NPC's shows the GM really upping his game.

Re: Darths and Droids V: Thread IV Was Eaten By Dogs
It's quite interesting how different Palpatine seems to be here from the original... I wonder if the final confrontation will also take a very different path? It would seem like they play up to such a thing but it seems like it would be hard to do that.
Also: I wish I could do NPC crosstalk like that but talking to yourself as a GM is just weird.

Re: Darths and Droids V: Thread IV Was Eaten By Dogs
New comic
Okay... I guess Vader isn't that much saner than Palpatine.
But I'm not entirely sure what her little song is trying to tell us.
Is she rejecting the redemption Luke offers? Does she think she isn't redeemable?
And why has the world always hated her? (Okay, she was Jim’s character previously, but it wasn't that bad."If it lives it can be killed.
If it is dead it can be eaten."

Annie's filking again. This time, it's a song Valjean sings in Les Mis.

Re: Darths and Droids V: Thread IV Was Eaten By Dogs
Specifically the song is "Epiphany," wherein Valjean deals with the fact that someone has, completely against his expectations, offered him kindness and redemption.
It ends well enough for Valjean, although not before an awful lot more of Les Mis (at least the stage and film versions left out the elaborate musical number about the Bishop's household accounts). Although another character gives us a reprise of the song later on, and that ends less well...Avatar courtesy of Kaariane!

After reading the comic, I felt bad because I didn't get the tune until the third speech bubble and because it's one of my favorite musicals.
Now I want to listen to Les Mis again. Haven't they already done another song from that musical, or am I misremembering? Great, now I need to go back through the entire archive to find all the musical pages they've done.Favorite sports:

There've been two other songs. One an original by Annie she sang at her father's funeral, and then she did a bit of Let It Go during the speeder bike chase.

I read an unabridged translation of Les Miserables. I've seen snippets of a movie. Beyond "Can You Hear the People Sing?", I don't think I could pick out a tune in the musical. I could give you a plot summary if I had to, but I would probably forget something.

Re: Darths and Droids V: Thread IV Was Eaten By Dogs
Annie sang a bit of "At the End of the Day" as part of a medley she did with Jim (also includes some Doors and Peter Gabriel/Kate Bush).
EDIT: Reading it again, it's not clear if they're actually singing, or just quoting the lyrics.

It has been noted that Annie has a good singing voice.
Okay, so Corey's future campaign involves 'Big Guns'. My first guess is Guns of Navarone.

Re: Darths and Droids V: Thread IV Was Eaten By Dogs
I kinda agree with Pete. „Big guns” is a great concept for a campaign.
Although I hope, like Sally, that there will be more to it.
Speaking of campaigns and Sally, did we evere work out what her robot-utopia-campaign was?"If it lives it can be killed.
If it is dead it can be eaten."

New comic
I love the expression on the faces of Princess, 3PO and Chewie.
So full of expectation... that inevitably will be shattered by Han.
And of course R2/Pete finishes it in the traditional way."If it lives it can be killed.
If it is dead it can be eaten."

Last I'd heard from sending them an email asking whether they want to have someone do the "Episode VII challenge" (which is experience the movie via the webcomic first with little to no knowledge of the movie) was that they were thinking of waiting for Episodes 8 and 9 to come out first.

Re: Darths and Droids V: Thread IV Was Eaten By Dogs
As of now, they've decided to do Rogue One next, which I think is an excellent idea. And one, incidentially, I've been thinking about for a little while since screencapping TCW would probably be... impractical due to its length.
Their rationale is that they want to wait till they see Ep 8 before they start a meta-plot for THEIR version of Ep 7/8/9 (scroll down about halfway down the thread), which makes sense. RO should be screencappable by March/April of next year, which should be more or less OK for RotJ to finish.
And if they run a filler set of strips? Well, won't be the first time.Concluded: The Stick Awards II: Second Edition

Re: Darths and Droids V: Thread IV Was Eaten By Dogs
A group of Pilots from Naboo? Sand people driven from their homes after they got too violent? The actual last remnants of the Trade Federation who brought the Ewoks their religion? Surviving jedi? Some vague elite home guard regiment of wookies mentioned by Sally ones just before the giant battle scene that got hold of some really good razors?
