To me, it seems as if what Sally says in the final panel should be quote, too, but I can't find it if it is. It just seems familiar somehow.

Sally seems to be forgetting her accent. I would have expected, "Fring your boras!" Will the EWOKs figure out that C-3PO isn't Nute?

Doubt it. There aren't any clips of the Ewoks attacking the rebels or anything. Most likely theres just an assumption that her character is keeping up the act. Its not the first time NPCs don't react to the literal statements being made.

It's a game rules jibe, which you've probably heard at your own table at least twice a session all your life. It's no different that Elan blasting off a tourist pamphlet's worth of trivia about Azure City and Roy's sarcastic aside about a successful Bardic Knowledge check.

Wait, are they? Weren't they doing it in in-story chronological order? In that case, the opportunity to do Rogue One is gone. Might as well fit it after their Episode VII comic anyway, if they're going to stick it in off-sequence. Unless of course they manage to completely change the story to fit a post-ep-VI chronology, which wouldn't be the craziest change they've done.

edit: dang, I checked the FAQ, and indeed they're planning on doing Rogue One first. At any rate, if they're waiting for ep. VIII, they've gotta stall. Well, they were probably already aware of the R1 chronology when they wrote that FAQ entry, so I can't wait to see what they'll cook up...

It kinda makes sense to do Rogue One first. A few characters appear, and are still relatively the same age, and the movie can easily be set after Ep 6. Well... Ok, Except for the Deathstar and Tarkin I guess, and Vader. Ok, maybe I was a bit too quick to say it makes sense. I guess they'd still have to put it in as a prequell sort of thing? I dunno.

Agreed. We know they had some sessions where they retrieved the Death Star plans and Jim lost like three characters. The opportunity exists in the timeline.

I'm still holding out to experience the new star wars movies in comic form first, so I'd emailed the irregulars about what they'd planned to do before rogue one came out. The reply was that they want to wait for episodes 8 and 9 to be finished before starting episode 7, so the plan was to do rogue one in the meantime.

It's a bit troubling that they want to wait for ep. 9 to launch though. When will that be, late 2019? Seems like way too long a wait for me

Yeah, bit troubling, but they want to make sure all the movies will fit into the universe they've made, so I can't really blame them. That said, maybe they'll see episode 8 and change their mind about waiting for all three.

It makes sense that they'd want to know where the movies are going before deciding how their characters fit into the story.

IDK. I think you would have had a stronger argument if the reveal had occurred in Episode VI. The thing is that the last movie will probably be much more predictable than the previous ones. You can shake things up in the penultimate episode, but for commercial reasons it's necessary to use the final one to resolve the major plot threads in ways the fanbase likes. That limits the writer's options and tends to make the last movie of a series at least somewhat predictable.

Maybe someone would like to figure out what the Irregulars would have done differently if they had been forced to begin without seeing Episode VI. (I can't think of anything off hand, but that may say more about my memory than anything else.) I think that they would probably feel much more comfortable knowing exactly what happened in Episode IX and that would probably make it easier to think of ideas, but I could conceive of them becoming eager enough to give it a shot before they knew.
