What happened to Chugworth Academy?
The updates got slower and slower and sloppier. But now there's something wrong with the page. There's not even a notice about moving, or hosting trouble.
Does anyone know anything about what happens with this webcomic?
Seems like the webcomics I like the most are all slowing and/or in trouble. Lately similar things happened with Alien Loves Predator... :S

Re: What happened to Chugworth Academy?
No idea. Haven't been following it for years and had forgotten about it.

Re: What happened to Chugworth Academy?
Chuggy's been going downhill for a while.
I think the remaining fans have been abandoned!Last edited by Jieze; 2007-05-15 at 06:48 AM.

Re: What happened to Chugworth Academy?
Yes it has...And if what you say is true, then it's a quite sad thing to do, because some people like me have endured really bad material lately waiting for the plot to advance...There was a plot somewhere probably, but my guess is that the author doesn't really know what to do.
It's so frustrating when a webcomic dies...Yesterday I found two webcomics I enjoyed and read them in their entirety...because I found out they had been long abandoned. A pity, because there's so many mediocre stuff that keeps going.

Re: What happened to Chugworth Academy?
One of them made a post last week that the web site went down the same time the admin went on vacation for two weeks. But it was only up for a couple of days before it went down again, and it's not like they had any content to add.
I like the strip for reasons I find myself unable to explain.

Re: What happened to Chugworth Academy?
It probably has something to do with the cartoon boobs.
I mean, they're really the only reason it lasted this long.

Re: What happened to Chugworth Academy?
Boobs are always good, but I also happen to think the strip is funny.

Re: What happened to Chugworth Academy?
Not necessarily. It wasn't Cheung's idea to close it; the host went off-line, taking at least one other web comic with it.
It may be too much trouble to look for a new host at the moment, or he may be taking a break or something, but he did not give the impression that he was quitting during that last brief message before the host died entirely.Illimir orc monk avatar by yours, truly. Re: What happened to Chugworth Academy?
He seems to be active on DA, making a new comic, Boss Noodle I believe. Can't link due to nipples and general NSFWness. No sign of a Chugworth Restart as far as I can see though.

Re: What happened to Chugworth Academy?

in adition thier web host was having server problems while on vacation and has only semi-recently returned to maintenance the servers

Re: What happened to Chugworth Academy?
This was posted on Jamal's own site.
http://www.networkjay.com/chugworth.htm
Chugworth Academy: The Explanation.
As many people might have noticed www.scribblekid.org has gone down, taking several other websites with it. The one I get questioned about the most is naturally; Chugworth Academy. So here is how I've come to understand events.
Three months ago technical issues took down our web host, and unfortunately the web administrator was absence at the time. He fixed the problem as soon as he came back, when a few days later the servers suffered what appeared to be a DDoS attack.
Dave Cheung and I have been waiting on repairs to the servers. We've also been unable to move the site because of personal issues, mostly dealing with work and sickness.
We didn't go all John Lennon and the Beatles, Chugworth hasn't ended in the official sense, just give us some time and we'll do our best.
Peace,
J amal Joseph Jr

Re: What happened to Chugworth Academy?
Somebody should compile all the comic pictures in a big zipfile and put it on Emule or BitTorrent.
Assuming the author doesn't mind, of course, but if he was hosting them for free on the web he probably won't object to someone sending them for free over P2P.
