Ehv'amhyr an Duulah is caught unawares as the people revolt against what they see as his greedy nature. His own guards turn upon him, even as he notices that they are wearing new armbands; purple armbands with a white shield. The symbol for the Pale Devouts. Raa'ndo Maa'muustan acts as though he did not sanction this revolt, but with Ehv'amhyr in chains from his own guards and staff, the previous leader doesn't believe it. He tries to attack "Reverance" Raa'ndo - as the people are calling him - and fails. An over zealous guard stabs an Duulah and the wound is fatal. The guard is himself placed in a confined room; not a prison, for the room has a bed, cushions, and priests of the faith bring the man food and discuss the Pale Lady's teachings with him, but the man cannot leave. Raa'ndo accepts governance of the country for the moment, though he awaits confirmation from the Pale Lady herself, and missives regarding the matter have been sent to the Dei Empyrus and other world leaders whom follow the Pale Lady's teachings.
1.) Continue to send lawgivers to bring justice and peace to the people of region 227 ([Archaeo-Historical-Linguistics] Press Claim [Importance of Lineage CI]: 17) [Diplomacy]
2.) "Reverance" Raa'ndo makes his first act one of peace. He continue to preach defense, and states that so long as he is in charge, the armies of Aardrosil will only be used against those who would dare to attack the lands belonging to the Pale Lady.
3.) Inspired by Raa'ndo's words, many youths volunteer to join the Pale Devouts. A thousand eager hands become a new complement of defenders (Raise a Land Unit) [Military]

The Spring Court
Rose Courts Member
(Federation, Curiosity Specialization)
Actions:
- <Curiosity> Continue to investigate the individual or individuals whom wanted Aleuta Kellianth dead, attempting next to rule out far away discontents, such as the Pale Empyrium ([Spy Network, Woodblock Printing, Illumination Crystals] - Roll: 21)
- <Curiosity> Go looking for signs of the Green Man, the Spring Girls whom were on his isle, or even artifacts ([Spy Network, Woodblock Printing] - Roll: 16)
- <Secret> (roll: 9)
- <Military> With the war continuing for too many years, volunteers among the Aeldir to join the war effort are becoming less and less. However, those of Tir Xungla are still eager. The Salvax Ri - a Summer Aeldir himself, long ago - offers a full complement of his fully trained Tiger Salvax (and their Aeldir interpreters) to the war effort. (Raise a Land Unit)
- <Military> With the war continuing for too many years, volunteers among the Aeldir to join the war effort are becoming less and less. However, those of Tir Xungla are still eager. The Salvax Ri - a Summer Aeldir himself, long ago - offers a full complement of his fully trained Elephant Salvax (and their Aeldir interpreters) to the war effort (Raise a Land Unit)
- <Military> Lady Spring cannot officially accept Salvax as warriors into the army. However, she can approve vacations.
Spoiler: WAR-ERRR, VACATION!!!
Two Hundred Spring Aeldir and 1,800 Salvax go on 'Vacation' to Xeroas, aboard a full complement of ships. They arrive at a bad time. It seems that the place is under attack by Undead. Being helpful citizens, the Spring Aeldir follow the commands of Ranger Evander, and in this time of crisis, will help direct the Salvax to protect the citizens, and help take down the Undead.
[+2 Land Units to assist with the defense of Xeroas Citizens, under the orders of Ranger Evander (Rando)]
[Does not add to the defense roll, per Zayuz]
Non-Action:
The attendance of the Vine Festival is actioned by Lord Summer. As it is late in the round, this is a sub-action of that action.
- As reward for their safe return of Lord Summer, and with the blessing of Lord Winter and support of Lady Spring, officially transfer control of 801 to the governance of the Wandering Clans.
Links to Rolls: Link
Spoiler: News and Rumors
- Best Friend Madlen continues to work hard at uncovering more mysteries of the Arandi Runes. Rumor has it, she's taken a keen interest in the Warven Coal and Fantastigorian Steel.
- The Salvax Ri offering not one, but two, full legions of trained Salvax fighters is... troublesome. For decades, the Salvax have been keen to assist in the armed forces of the Aeldir; something that many previous Lords of Summer have found reason to deny. The war continues longer than the Spring Court expected, though, so when the Salvax Ri makes his offer, Lady Spring - officially - cannot accept them as warriors. But does suggest both of the legions to visit Xeroas on vacation. After all, the Salvax are not confined to their jungle, and are within their rights to holiday in any land owned by the Demesne.
- Lady Blayne is very gracious to the Wandering Clans, and supports the peaceful transfer of the island region nearby Anceris lands to the governance of the Master Architect.
- Lady Spring regrets that she herself is unable to attend the Vine Festival. She purchases and sends Nemeria a case of fine spirits from Luska, in the hopes of adding to the festivities in some way. Because of the massive storm in the Sea of Coin, it sadly arrives too late for the party. The very bedraggled Gold Stem merchant, Turius of Gullinbursti, still makes it his duty to deliver the single remaining bottle personally to Kaiser Andarious Brynjolf I, in the hopes that the leader of Nemeria will find some enjoyment from it; and the tale of what it took to arrive.
- Turius and the Vine becomes a comically tragic play in Fantastigoria, a few months later. Even Autumn Court thespians attempt to re-tell the tale, but the 'storm' in the play becomes an overly pompous adjudicator that refuses to allow any import or export of non-approved alcoholic liquids without proper signed consent based on previous diplomatic treaties. Turius and the Vine is much better received in Fantastigoria.

The Clan Holds
Linna Coalthumb, The Master Architect, Lord Paramount of the East
Spoiler: Actions
- < Faith > The Fist of the Pale Lady is invited to return to his homeland to oversee it's restoration. Though the land itself must remain under the auspices of the Clan Holds to uphold their agreement with the Aeldir Courts, the Master Architect promises to support their desire to remain in isolated contemplation and prayer.
- < Faith > Linna Coalthumb begins a pilgrimage to the House of the Pale Lady, following the road laid down by the faithful. There is some concern among her supporters that she intends to follow the path of the previous Master Architect, as she is seen bearing the Hammer of the First Architect.
- < Curiosity 10 > New Technology:
Standardized Weights and Measures (req: Minted Coinage): Increase bonus to Hostile Takeover rolls granted by Minted Coinage to +2. - < Diplomacy > Though the damage to the Ancerin coast was heavily mitigated by their Empresses' prompt action, the Clan Holds offer whatever material support might be needed to complete repairs, as well as the hands of skilled architects and builders to hasten to work.
- < Military > Raise 1 Land Unit.
- < Military 5 > New Military Specialization: Shield of the Empyrium (increased die size when defending lands owned by a member of the Pale Empyrium).
Spoiler: News and Rumour
- Though she is disturbed by the coup within Aardrosil, the Master Architect has no wish to see a recurrence of the unrest that previously tore the northern power apart, and so withholds any condemnation or blessing until the character of it's new ruler becomes apparent.

Re: [EMPIRE 2] IC Thread
Round Twenty Nine: Begin!
Years 156-157 of the Aenic Calendar
Don’t forget to link to any rolls you make for ANY Attribute checks, plus rolls for rulers you will start using at the start of next round. If you want a new ruler in the next round, you must state so in your action post for this round and link to their rolls. Any increases from actions for this round are counted for the ruler you start your next round with (because it’s handier to account for by the co-GM), which may or may not be your current ruler.
Good luck!
Rules Changes!
This is the final round of Empire 2! If you have a score of 8 or higher at the start of this round, you may take a [10] action. At the end of the round the epilogue page will be linked, where players may decide the eventual fate of their government and characters.
Trade!
None! What a useful new tab I’ve created. Good thinking, me.
Growth!
The Kingdom of Ambrose forms the Eroton Empire!
The Grey Drieduch forms the Grey Empire!
Region 176 Stabilizes under the Nihoni Dominion!
Region 445 Stabilizes under Avonlea!
Investigate!
[155] The Spring Courts continue to look into the case of who may have worked alongside the iron gauntlet in more far away lands, or even had a reason to do so. No new leads show up pertaining to who murdered Lady Aleuta. Any who had a motive to do so seem to have few traces to the Iron Gauntlet, and any who had exchanges with the iron gauntlet had little reason to do so. It would be safe to rule out anyone in the Pale Empyrium, as they had nothing to gain from it. (Though the possibility does arise that they could have done it to clean up for the Crystal Union, and thus gain some friends. Such a possibility applies everywhere, though it seems unlikely with the amount of allies the southern federation has in their war.) Later in the year however, a rumor reaches the Spring Court that Aleuta herself had been spotted recently as far north as region 255 - Alive and well.
[156] Whilst investigating the collapse of the Green Man’s Island, the Spring courts find a pendant among the wreckage. It has a blue crystal on the end that glows a faint blue and exerts a soft humming noise. Those who touch it say that they feel cold, but nobody knows precisely what it’s effects are.. Assuming there are any at all. It is taken to Lady Spring to do with it as she sees fit.
[156] Lord Winter’s investigation of the actions of Besina depict a population that has been very peaceful throughout its existence be thrust into a war many times greater than their own size or scope. Though the success of their warriors is undeniable, the thought of sending their people against supernatural forces like demons or undead are a bit too much for them. They seem to take those kinds of figures very seriously, as per religious reasons.
Colonize!
None! The world may ache of war and death, but no new lands have been settled.
Claim!
[156] Aardrosil concludes the diplomatic procedures to bring region 227 into the kingdom. [2/2]
[155] The Suzerainty of Kalamahar claims regions 205 and 206 with the news of their recent victory on the fields of battle. Faith in the northern faction begins to return, and it’s subjects along with it.

Terror!
[156] The wraith summoned as captain of the undead forces to the south mysteriously disappears just before the battle! The undead fight without a commander as a result of this, but some civilians report hearing pained ghostly wails in the night.
[157] The assassination of Queen Yidiz is already known by the time the lonely killer finally arrives. Checked by the guards at the palace before he can even get in, he is subsequently detained and executed as an example of what happens when people cross paths with the dark queen. It turns out that not all contacts are loyal - Especially when a great deal of money is involved.

[155] Great roars can be heard from the north after the hurricane to the south takes it’s toll on the peoples around it. A second expedition is sent north to encounter Flyv’nir, dragon of ice, who they suspect to be the cause of this roar. The explorers find him after many days of travel, locked in combat with a great wyrm of ice. While the draogn is the size of a large house, the wyrm is the size of a small town, and thus this battle is by no means a fair one. Blood covers the snow for miles, and it seems that the two have been locked in combat for days. The expedition sees the end of this battle, where the wyrm coils around the dragon and tears off one of its wings with it’s jaws of terrible power; Leaving it there to die as it returns into the earth, leaving a cavern of ice in it’s wake that could likely be explored and eventually used to tunnel between polar regions if cleared. The expedition approaches and speaks to the dragon, who warns them to leave him and return to their settlements at once in his dying breath. The monster they witnessed is known as the great wyrm, and that because he himself has failed in besting this monster, that the whole world may be in danger. For this wyrm is linked to the planet itself, and it’s awakening means nothing less than the breach of the realm of spirits and the mortal plane, which has already been weakened through acts of magic across the years he has lay dormant. He tells them that they should prepare for the worst, and do all in their power to find the three brothers before closing his eyes for the last time.
[155] The curse of Onyx raises the dead in region 144 (Lignummus). A new wraith (M5) appears leading a host of 8 000 undead, seeking to purge the land of all those yet living.
[156] Over the next few months, people start to claim sightings of long dead friends and family across arandi.
[155] A cavern in Carrag Dun collapses in the midst of the summer, revealing an ancient temple from long ago. Within it, there is depicted a legend in old text that tells of four dragons who slumber across the planet - One in the mountains, one in the oceans, one in the snow, and the last in the deserts. These dragons are suspected to be linked to what had founded the order of the eternal soul, and questions are raised as to whether these dragons might have been what their gods were based on - And if these beings even represent gods at all.
[155] An ambitious treasure hunter claims to have possession of a ring of dark magic, and is willing to sell it to the highest bidder. He chooses to remain anonymous, and does this sale through the elemental brigade; Who offer to protect him from being robbed so long as he pays.Last edited by Zayuz; 2016-10-30 at 03:38 PM.

The Salvax Ri - a Summer Aeldir himself, long ago - offers a full complement of his fully trained Tiger Salvax (and their Aeldir interpreters) to the war effort (Raise a Land Unit)
- <Military> Lady Spring cannot officially accept Salvax as warriors into the army. However, she can approve vacations.
Spoiler: WAR-ERRR, VACATION!!!
With their last vacation turning into a disaster zone, Lady Spring feels it only right to send the same troops elsewhere. To enjoy themselves. Two Hundred Spring Aeldir and 1,800 Salvax go on 'Vacation' to Lignummus, aboard a full complement of ships. They - again - arrive at a bad time. It seems that the place is also under attack by Undead. Being helpful citizens, the Spring Aeldir once more follow the commands of Ranger Evander, and in this time of crisis, will help direct the Salvax to protect the citizens, and help take down the Undead.

With this in mind, Lady Spring cannot ignore the rumors; she sends not only investigators, but also a... protection detail, in the form of Eoghan and several other Spring Boys, to escort whomever this 'Aleuta' is back to Glaw Novo.

Re: [EMPIRE 2] IC Thread
News
-Queen Paige, fed up with being treated as an equal to the Niran and Queen Zellevera, had rallied her remaining supporters and claimed leadership over all of the Crystal Union!
-This idea was not well received by her former counterparts. As such she was herself booted from the Union, taking only a few regions with her as she and her supporters could not have hoped to fight off the entire Crystal Union. This was her fatal mistake. Her forces now too weak were easily defeated by the true King Leonard the Hero, his mentor, Lady Kisu and their small band of Lignummese Blue Knights. King Simon was freed and returned to Arenhal along with regions 127 and 136 as they were originally belonging to Arenhal. The new King offers peace to the Rose Courts hoping that Paige the Bloody and Fire Heart will serve as compensation for the many Aeldir lives lost in the great war.Last edited by woolli264; 2016-10-31 at 05:49 AM.

[Military 10 - New Technology - Luck 10]
Custodian Gambit
Fluff: "Every now and again in the annals of war there is a tale of a madwoman, who sees certain defeat coming her way and chooses to fight. It is a desperate, dangerous game that she plays, and most times she does not survive. But every now and again, she achieves a victory that turns even the heads of the gods. And her name becomes legend." -Eldice, of the Custodia Alta
Slot: Tactic
Effect: +6 to battles when only 1000 units are used (on your own side)
Requires: Weaponry, Ranged Weapons, Armor, Scouts
[Faith 5 - Holy Order of the Old Gods in Quintas (197) - Heniaith]
The Satsujin clans (though not all people in Quintas) have devoted themselves fully to the Old Gods of the Aeldir, and the study of the Arandi Runes. This is clearly the first step towards the language of the gods, the very words of Creation. The True Name of reality itself lies within these runes, if only the Satsujin can find it. Those who have thrown themselves fully into the study of this language to the exclusion of all else take on the name 'Heniaith' - roughly translating to 'old language' or 'old tongue'.
((Okay I'm cheating on this one, but I figure if 8 is okay for a 10, 3 is okay for a 5. Last round, comoooooon! ))
[Faith - Convert - Quintas (197) - Roll (11)]
[Curiosity - Modify Trade Route - Add Octavius (180) to Coalition Circuit]: House Murus requires immediate access to mounts in order to facilitate proper management of the Imperium's latest conquest; the Coalition Circuit's horses should do nicely. (Long Haul Caravans should allow this)
[Diplomacy - Restructuring]
- Admiral Pronoe is named High Queen of the Queenlands, and is granted the territories 488, 456, 457 and 458 as her own personal Queendom. She is also granted rights to the entirety of the Imperium's navy (though this would obviously take time to properly transfer).
The Queenlands are now their own realm, a vassal of the greater Primus Imperium and through them the Duoviri of the Blade. - The Silver Horde is gifted the lands 428, 427, and P29. P18 will be granted to them once negotiations with the Crystal Union are complete, and the land's exact fate decided. Tamurjin is also gifted the Crown of Ice, to serve as the mark of the Great Khan's royalty.
[Secret (Sort of) - Roll (18)]: The news that old friends and loved ones are returning to the world would normally be cause to think the tellers crazy. However, such a massive number of sightings across all the planet can be no mere coincidence; Scarface sends the Satsujin out to investigate. ((I have this as a secret action for the bonuses, and would normally just send Zayuz the text above, but as we're on the last round there's no real point in keeping it hidden.))
[Military - Holy War - Remove OotES from P18 - Roll (19)]: Temples to the Onyx dragon are burned en masse with their worshippers locked inside. The religion's holy texts are destroyed, and their towns laid to ruin. Werewolves are allowed to run rampant across the territory, bringing the people one by one into the Hordes. Priests unfortunate enough to survive the church burnings are hanged and crucified before the capital and along the roads.
Whether it takes one year or one hundred, no one escapes Primal vengeance.
The slaughter stops when word reaches Crudice of the Union's surrender, but by then the damage is done.
News and Rumors
-Final round shenanigans!
Spoiler: NotesSpoiler: Future actionsThese are actions I've discarded but am saving for later just in case.
[Diplomacy 5 - Cultural Identity - Many Faces, Many Names - Bonus to Secret Actions]: "The Satsujin are fond of cover stories and names; so much so that adopting a new name for everything you do (from a job to walking to the market) is common amongst not only them, but the region they protect. Only the Satsujin truly know what the Satsujin do, but perhaps that is for the best."
[Curiosity - Investigate - Find the Artifact - Roll]: Rumor has reached the Vr'kx of the artifact the Imperium is after! No, the Imperium could stand to lose to the Spring Court, but the f#@$ing squid-ogres?! HELL. NO. As the Primal invasion commences, the Satsujin infiltrate deep into 428, taking advantage of the fact that the locals are mostly human to blend in as they search. Forget the fact that they couldn't use it - this time they'd get to the artifact first.
Phelnia is worried by one other possibility - if Tamurjin was one of the fated Queens, perhaps the Vr'kx would use her as the sacrifice to unlock the artifact... She goes to lead the battle personally.
[Curiosity - Investigate - Find the previous Hive Queen - Roll]: The Satsujin networks in the Queenlands range out and begin to look for the Hive Queen. Admiral Pronoe considers finding the Hive Queen high priority, and in fact begins long before the orders come from the Heartlands. Speaking of the Admiral...
[Military - Raise 1000 land troops]: The legions from Quartus quickly gain a reputation as being utterly terrifying in close quarters, while also having excellent marksmen and scouts. Aima are quickly proving to be both effective shock troops and medics, a strange combination, but a highly useful one.
[Curiosity - Explore - Southwest of 181 - Roll]: Rumors of Phelnia's attempts to give the Silver Horde a similar offer to the Izele's prompt greater exploration of the lands beyond the Imperium. Such a strong push for exploration has not been pushed for since the expansionist days of Roethye and Breydice, and many of the Imperium's finest feel their spirit for conquest rekindled.
[Curiosity - Great Project - The Queen's Harbor 1/5]: Phelnia draws up plans for a grand harbor in the Queenlands within Cochragio. It will serve as a hub for all merchant and military shipping within the Queenlands, perhaps even within the entire Dawnsea. It will require both a massive rectangular docking area for merchant ships, and a circular dock for a military harbor.
[Curiosity - Great Project - The Queen's Harbor 2/5]: Work on the harbor continues. Contractors are found throughout the queenlands, and massive amounts of lumber (wonderwood and otherwise) are shipped to Cochragio.
[Curiosity - Hostile Takeover - Trade Route Secondaris - Subtertius 58B]: The Alevear of the lands beneath Primus and Tertius are absolutely hostile towards one another, but Primus' traders seem to snap them out of their rage. The humans act as mediators between the two groups and manage to set up some minor trading.
[Curiosity - Investigate - 193]: Commissariat investigators are sent to region 193 to see what state it is in. Little has been heard from the area since the collapse of the Jade Coalition, and the Circuit remains a valuable option for trade. The region is considered a natural location for expansion given its proximity to Septimus.
[Curiosity - Investigate - Tomb of Palindor - Roll]: The Satsujin are sent to study the Tomb of Palindor in more depth. Specifically, they're looking for any information on the old empire that Palindor was once a hero for. Perhaps if they find more information, they can learn where to search for more of these strange and powerful artifacts.
[Diplomacy - Destabilize Truserchen Capital - 300 - Roll]: In retaliation for the Truserchen's transgression on Berrium's soverignty and a deal previously made with Avonlea, the Satsujin steal as many clothes as they can from as many people as they can and proceed to burn them.
The Satsujin are weird.
[Curiosity 5 - Change Resource (Quintas, 197) - Elephants [Minor] ]: House Eventus has attempted to wrangle and capture the elephants of their region, using them as their territory's export in place of what little peyote remains in the territory.
[Curiosity - Satsujin Spy Network 0/5]:
[Military - The Grand Harbor 0/5]
[Curiosity - The Queen's Harbor 3/5]
[Curiosity - The Queen's Harbor 4/5]
[Curiosity - The Queen's Harbor 5/5]
[Diplomacy - Ember City 0/5]
[Curiosity 5 - Change Resource - Quartus (47) - Aima Bloodseers [Minor]]: The Aima's ability to see blood is incredibly useful for many applications. They have begun offering their services in exchange for gold and other precious materials.
[Military - Invade 47B - 1000 troops]: The mysterious creatures beneath the earth known only as Archivists are, according to the workers, too horrifying to go near without an escort. Genuinely concerned that Quartus' workers are THAT pathetic, House Bestius provides them with a small escort. The act angers the mysterious creatures, but the situation appears to be relatively non-volatile at the moment.
[Military - Invade 57B - 1000 troops]:

[Military Specialization - Primal Barbarians]:
"Make them pay for every step!"
Sometimes sheer ferocity will succeed where tactics and numbers have failed. And if there's one thing the Primal are known for... it's rampant sex and a matriarchy, but RIGHT BEHIND THAT they're best known for ferocity. (Increase die size when outnumbered and using solely land units)
Spoiler: DiplomacyLAP - Mutual Defense Agreement - 133-143
Rose Courts - Non-aggression pact - Crudice's lifespan, to be revisited upon her death
[Permanent Cultural Identity 1: Imperial Order]: Fluff: The Primus Imperium - through guile and military might - is very adept at bringing new peoples into the fold. Their rapid expansion has made them extremely adept at making local populations see the benefits of being brought into the imperium, and the direct management of noble houses makes it an attractive proposition. After all, who better to manage one's lands than one who lives there?
And if you don't like your new overlords, you can always depose them.
Mechanics: Bonus to stabilization rolls.
[Cultural Identity - War From Afar - Destabilization]: If the war with the Pavosi taught the Primal anything, it was how to wage war when you can't send troops. Namely, sabotage, sabotage and more sabotage. Eat up the enemy's resources and they will be unable to recover their losses or fight back. Destabilize their lands and hope a rebellion rises against their rulers.
Primus knows first hand how problematic a local rebellion or two can be.

The Crown of Swords
The Crown of Swords is a heavy, large crown who's appearance is that of thick iron daggers each with blades four to five inches long having been welded together along their edges to form a heavy circlet. The crown bears no gems, silver, or gold and weighs heavily in one's hands and upon the head. Yet in this weight there exists an innate power and to rest it upon one's head is to imbue oneself with a great power. (Effects: +2 to Raids, Sacks, Tactical Maneuvering, and Military Holy War)
The Crown of Ice
Allows the user to calm the storms and travel across the poles.

Re: [EMPIRE 2] IC Thread
Besina's round 29 actions
- [L10] Stabilize all regions that need it
- Claim 98B
- Claim 83B
- After some inner debate (motivated by a surge of pride for his son, abomination as he may be), Phnalus has a revelation that he cannot continue working for the Onyx Dragon if the world it to survive.
- [F10] Purge Oshenvar and Vinariun from the Mahana de Rukha (their big tree), cleansing the sacrficial conduit to the onyx dragon and allowing a more peaceful ritual.
- Phnalus sends an apology to Lord Winter* explaining all and asking for forgiveness in this regard shortly before taking his own life. People begin to take his title of king too seriously and a patrilinial selection is put into place, putting his abomination of a son onto the throne with his grandfather, Lord Krandar, taking over as regent and his mother, Axsal, leading religious matters as patron of the the pure resurrection ritual.
Spoiler: *Here's a copy of the PMAt whichever point in his time is most convenient, a letter is delivered to Lord Winter:
Lord Winter,
I must confess that I have been deceptive in my motivations for a very long time. I was put on the throne not because I was the best person for the position, but because I held faith in the Onyx Dragon. Where this misguided attitude came from I cannot say, but Oshenvar and Vinariun stoked this belief to unfathomable levels, revealing to me a plot to bring the God of Evil and Darkness back into the waking world. I was a fool and pursued this goal blindly, although thank the earth that none of our machinations came into being.
The resurrection ritual was meant to funnel the sacrifices' souls to the Onyx Dragon, where they would be devoured to fuel his strength. I don't know where Oshenvar and Vinariun found it, but they clearly intended to be the only victims before the ritual was buried within the depths of Lonerock Barrow. But then their acolytes brought them back, and their brief minutes in the realm of the Onyx Dragon must have warped their minds. They grew into fanatics, abandoning their previous faith and abusing their power within the tree to give others access to that ritual, including the former Lady Autumn. This does mean that your former consort suffered a fate worse than death that she did not deserve. I apologize for this grievance and implore you to read all the way through before launching your fleets onto our meager shores.
Our objective in finding the ex-prophetess and her companion were not to grant justice for Avonlea, but to give us an immediate method of resurrecting Aris should the Izele succeed in their assassination attempts so that we could hide these nefarious goals from the Demesne under layers of gratitude. We were willing to go so far as to kill Aris ourself and divert the blame to some other party.
In this war we were planning to side with the maniacs from the south, but you can thank the Larimps for preventing our support. Our people loathe Daen (I am not sure why, but I suppose that Pralkemiri targeted them due to their proximity and relative ease to eliminate before Avonlea entered the picture) and have never been subtle about it, therefore we would end up as the prime suspect. We could not afford this, so I had to join the Demesne in order to keep suspicion away from us.
And now, the 'peace conference.' How did I ever consider killing so many for such a cruel goal? Everyone who came would have been slaughtered, including the half a million people that resided within our capital. I couldn't. Our god was evil, I knew that then. I could not allow this to continue. But there was one last ritual that I had to complete. I took two sap-rich branches and broke them over a circle. The sap of Oshenvar and Vinariun served as the necessary blood, and so their souls are now banished. I can only hope that with them the last hopes of an Onyx resurgence are gone from this world.
I will not excuse my actions or that of my former superiors. They were wrong and I can see that now. Your armies are welcome to have Besina, as I have issued orders to all my armies to stand down. My last request is that you allow the Children of the Earth to survive. The Old Gods may have all our lands for their own, but allow the faith to survive to whatever small extent that you deem worthy. The faith (and a purified version of the resurrection ritual) has been placed in the care of my wife Axsal and regentship of Besina has passed to her father Lord Krandar. I shall not be leading anything any longer, as my shame at what I had planned to do is too great. Farewell, Lord Winter. May your reign be long and prosperous.
~Phnalus, former king of Besina

News & Rumors
Spoiler
- With no universally recognized Lady Autumn to handle diplomatic affairs conflicting responses come from the Summer and Winter Court when news arrives of the Crystal Union's offer of surrender. While Egan moved to swear his sword arm to Lord Winter and holds the Words of the Old Gods near to his heart he also holds a mortal compassion imparted by his mother and childhood among Avonlea. The Union's rightful leaders recognize the dangers of the Onyx Cult and can hardly be held accountable for the actions of rebels and schismatics. While Egan does not seek to challenge Lord Winter openly privately he is said to wish the eldest Aeldir might have a change of heart.
- Ranger Evander is commended and decorated for his valiant defense of Xeroas against the tides of undead. Every abomination was slaughtered by hails of coldblood arrows shot with precision from expert vantages. The escape of the unearthly wraith is said to disturb the Summer Aeldir and when news comes from the east of another rising legion of the dead and their spectral leader Evander insists he oversee the defense.
- Ultan Qendemir and Egan attend Hallowmas at Starcaster Keep...

The Winter Court
Actions
At the request of Lord Summer, the offensive against the Crystal Union is delayed. Across the various fronts of the great war, Aeldir stand ill at ease while the redoubtable people of the Eternal Soul rise up against their oppressors. And yet even as the war enters a lull, there is little time to rest in the Demesne. Relief supplies are dispatched to Koya and the Stormlands, so bitterly wracked by the depredations of the Onyx Dragon, while Lord Winter attends to the faiths of both Besina and Daen in their hours of need.

Re: [EMPIRE 2] IC Thread
End of EMPIRE 2!
After over a year of play, the story of Arandi is finally over. The fires of war both north and south have died out, the federations have divided, and new powers rise from all corners of the map to make their mark on the world around them.. But what kind of mark have they left? Even with the wars finished, the struggle to stay on top is far from over. The world is still full of strife and danger; And the only ones who ultimately decide the legacy of Arandi are the ones who inhabit it and keep it alive. The players.
The epilogue is the final step.
The recording in which the fate and legacy of your peoples is written.
Go fourth, and end the tale we've all worked together for so long to maintain.
Thanks for playing.
To each one that helped to make EMPIRE 2 into the unique experience that it is by adding their own ideas to the mix, big or small, thank you.
May we all see eachother again in EMPIRE 3, which is expected to start on the new year of 2017."What is to give light must endure burning."
