    Round 1

    Fardus dodders in the back, thinking and pawing through a tome about bugs or somesuch as Cyrius attacks the swarm with a flask, sizzling and zapping several bugs. Casper moves forward and attempts to strike the larger beetle, but misses coming woefully short, Rose stumbles, but manages to keep some situational awareness, manuervering herself to better aid her companions.

    Round 2

    Seramal blasts the insects with more steam, frying several where they stood, while Narl throws another flask, but it goes wide! It lands just behind Rose, splashing Rose, Narl and some of the bugs too! Tobul manages to step to through time and space, and makes the larger beetle pay for its attack by slicing it with a vicious gauge down it's back, orange bug guts potrude from underneath it's carapace.

    The swarm undulates and moves to cover more people while the bombardier beetle blasts yet more of you with it's sticky spray!

    Seeing Rose fall helps Seramal focus despite the little buggers crawling all over her.

    With a word and gesture, she sends the invisible servant holding her coin of light to swap places with Rose before the bugs consume her prone body.

    She then tries to get out of the beetle swarm, stepping out of the aisle.

    Reeling from the twin assaults of the giant beetle's caustic spray and the biting swarm, Narl still manages to notice Rose falling and Tobul's phenomenal strike. "Mistress Seramal, I think the Captain can deal with the giant bug! I'm all out of alchemist's fire, and my flail is useless against the swarm! You must get back and unleash your magic against them!" He then retreats into the larger room behind him, taking cover behind the southern corner. There, he pauses to drink a healing potion, then raises his flail to attack the giant beetle if it should follow him.

    Rose's eyes flutter open, disoriented. Last thing she remembers was getting a face full of beetle excrescence. Now she's far away with Fardus over her while the battle continues to rage in the corridor. "Thank you," she says, picking herself back up. She takes out an oil flask she had prepared and sets it to light.

    Cyrius curses as the swarm flows forwards covering the ground in a dense carpet of bugs. Holding the longsword loosely he pulls the hammer from his belt and steps out of the swarm laying about with the hammer seeking tio squash as many possible. He looks at Rose, breathing a sign or relief as she vanishes to be replaced with an unseen servant before suffering a chilling and horrible end devoured by the bugs. Healing energy flowing from the hammer in a shimmering blue arc to engulf the downed Rose

    As Rose tumbles to the floor in the sweet, sweet embrace of unconsciousness, the group spurs into motion, all semblance of conflict and animosity for each other gone at the site of one of their own falling to the monsters. In an instant, she is replaced with a glowing, bobbing coin, the holder of which accepts its new position with a resigned nod which no one could see. As she appeared, Cyrius and Fardus both healed her, Cryius slamming his hammer into the bugs, smooshing a few but being very effective at hurting the swarm, however his spiritual strike proved effective and as Fardus layed his hands on her to heal, she received a double dose of positive energy, bringing her back to life!

    As Casper retreats, Tobul steps up and slices the beetle in half, separating the abdomen from it's thorax, leaving it's eyes a glassy vacancy.

    Meanwhile, Narl, the ever creative member of the group, moves into the next room, where there is another giant beetle!

    The swarm continues to seethe towards you all, climbing, biting, and distracting those nearby as well as the unseen servant, which doesn't move at all as they climb it and then it vanishes, sending the illuminated coin dropping to the floor with the myriad of beetles, while the new beetle moves, though sluggishly, towards Narl and lets fly another spray of acid!

    Narl senses more than he hears the giant beetle approaching, just managing to drop into a crouch while raising an arm to protect his face when the beetle unleashes its caustic spray! Through some miracle, only a pitiful spatter falls on his armoured forearm. "AAAH...HAHAHAHAAA!" Narl laughs out loud with hysterical glee, even as tears stream from his eyes. "Missed me, you dung-eating cockroach!" Whirling his flail above his head, he steps forward to deliver a downward strike with all his might.

    The new beetle collapses as Narl explodes its head, as Casper throws a another flask at the mass of bugs, which promptly explodes, incinerating them. The remainder beetles disperse and scuttle off, no longer a threat.

    The priest looks at the others and moves forward to look into the nest. Using booted feet to push through the mass of rubbish and filth. He glances around the rest of the party. "Hopefully there will be fewer bugs now we seem to have destroyed the nest." He glances back at the rest again - "Are any of you in need of healing? My God does not need to see any of you quite yet" he tries to grin to lift the mood with his joke.

    The heavily bearded dwarf shakes his head at the half-orc's foolishness. "My dear, I"m certain you know what is best for you, but if I might be so bold such immediate methods of healing might be best kept for the needs of the moment, rather than the space between such moments. Meaning, I could heal you just as easily, and with less waste." That said, Fardus hangs back in the group, realizing that neither his knowledge nor his magic will serve him well leading the way.

    Cyrius looks around before he plunges into the room where the bugs came from and starts searching around for any loot as he listens to the interplay going on behind him. He grins slightly, the merry interplay a stark contrast to the silent and quiet temple he normally stays in. Focusing back on the room he prods through the debris and sludge with his sword and hammer as crude tools

    After defeating the bugs, and kicking your way through acid burned beetle dung, you manage to reveal the presence of three oblong lumps completely covered with the orange sludge. With some easy testing, you see this is not like the other sludge and does not move, multiply, or suck the cold from you. Uncovering the three lumps reveals three skeletonized remains still clad in ruined leather armor. An eight-pointed star symbol marks the left breast of each moldy suit of armor.

    The corpse on the slab also wears armor with the eight-pointed star, but this armor (masterwork) has not been destroyed, as well as a silver ring (non magical)

    You find nothing else in these rooms, nor does anything else happen.
