Yes I really enjoyed Alice Grove, but yes, agreed, the ending didn't really do anything for me...

Yeah. There wasn't enough development of the setting beyond "its rural" for me to get invested in it, and the ending didn't really affect the characters themselves too much.

I think it was mostly because Alice wasn't what I would call likable. If anything, I considered Jesper to be far more likable.

Might have something to do with me strongly agreeing with what he wanted to do for Humanity, and really, really hating that Alice was going out of her way to hold Humanity back.

I think it was a concept that suffered from not having nearly enough world building. We know there was a war, and Alice wasn't a good guy during it, and that's about the extent of our knowledge of it. What was with that nanotech cloud thing? That never went anywhere. Where did the AIs go? how are they messing with alternate realities if theyre all gone?

too many unanswered questions.

Hannelore doesn't look right with it...this is the wrong kind of progress. Answered my question from awhile back, but not the way I wanted it to. Friend therapy from the power couple that is Marten and Claire, though. Should be interesting.
