Does someone have an estimte of how much mythril we'll get between now and the next FFT event? I'm a sucker for FFT, so I want to save up, which is why I'm reluctant to pull on the half-price draw even.

We get about 1 event per week. (10 mythril + 3 in MP fights)
Log in bonuses: 1/day+ 3/10 days
    Chocobo store: 1/week.

So a bit more than 20/week. The current event is almost over and there is 1 before FFT+that event itself (so ~46mythril by the end of FFT not counting current event, DU, or promotions).

    Edited for adding elemental teams

outside of those archetypes, my generic physical ATeam is basically just Vaan, OK, (TANK), Tyro, Eiko. There's room to switch things around, but that setup is pretty stronk.

Ooh, elemental squads. What I've got so far:

    Spoiler: Earth!
    Show

Maria BSB, Tifa BSB. Agrias for cleansing strike/Gaia cross, perhaps, or just the usual Vaan for breaking. For magicite, Maria, Tifa, Alph (boost, healing, and radiant shield), Relm (healing), and slot 5 can be a flex- if we get Dr. Mog select 3 anytime, the choices are BSBs, and Sephiroth's BSB1 with piercing command is on the list.

    Spoiler: Fire!
    Show

Papalymo BSB, Terra En-Fire/OSB, Vincent BSB for radiant shield, Vanille to heal, and a support (Setzer most likely due to pris. flash). Magicite: Alphinaud comes in place of Setzer

    Spoiler: Wind!
    Show

Freya w/en-wind & sky high, Fang w/BSB for imperil, Faris w/imperil SSB, Eiko for crit boost heals, Vaan w/Dash and Slash for extra breaks and exploits. Magicite? I don't want to use this team, as Golem uses protect and sets up two physical barriers that you need to deal 25K to pop.

    Spoiler: Water!
    Show

    I got nothin.

    Spoiler: Holy!
    Show

Agrias BSB, Raines BSB, and does it matter after that? Fine, Vanille for BSB, P. Cecil to spam Saint Cross, and Ramza to shout.

    Spoiler: Lightning
    Show

Kain BSB and R3 lightning dive, Lightning OSB, Shantotto BSB, Fran w/Imperil SSB, Eiko for crit-boosted heals. This could work for magicite too, but Fran leaves for a second healer, probably Alphinaud again.

    Spoiler: Ice
    Show

I've got Laguna's imperil and nothing else. This one needs work too.

    Spoiler: Dark
    Show

Kuja BSB to imperil, Raines for pain, then I've got options! Vayne for pure damage, Seifer for an atk/mag party boost, or Sephiroth for en-elemented SSB spamming. Healer's probably Relm for survival, support Setzer for breaks.

    Spoiler: Non-elemental
    Show

For when it's quicker to beatdown without imperiling. Zell BSB, Gilgamesh OSB, Vaan BSB, Ramza support, Relm BSB. Crit more, hit attack softcap, remove enemy armor, goodnight.

    Spoiler: Mage
    Show

Papalymo BSB, Maria BSB, Raines BSB, Vanille BSB, Setzer w/Prismatic flash. RW a magic boost, Raines bursts, then all three can self-buff as well for 3 layers of stacking. Vanille drops the occasional resist break on the enemy. If things get too hairy, she leaves and Relm comes in for last stand and those wonderful instant curajas.

I am looking forward to busting this team out on torments when they return.

Looking at my needs, I could use a good support burst for additional mitigation when Vaan and Agrias can't form team siege tank. Squall's BSB2 would be nice, as would something water-related. All in all, I can't complain, though.

Well, my attempt at Valimwhatever did not go as well as my battle with Neo Bahamut did. I apparently just totally lack the hones necessary to take him out, he still had about 20% hp left and I was entirely out of summons(to see what I had, see my post near the end of the previous page, that's what I took), and I can't hone them any higher as I have no gil in order to do so. I guess this fight will have to be put off into the future when I can hone my guys a bit more. Might have to egg Eiko and Garnet up to 80 as well so they have a bit more HP to survive attacks

Didn't help that my SG wore off and I ate two AoE attacks back to back before I got it re-applied, basically killing my entire party, and Eiko's Flame of Rebirth does not bring you back with buffs ><. Sucks too, because the yellow barrier spawned several times, which I know is needed for a medal requirement.

I mean, I could possibly spend a mythril or two, and hope that I get a +2 to ability use, which would certainly be all that I needed.

What would be better is if I had people with SB's that dealt SMN damage besides just Garnet. I mean, Terra has her BSB, and Ashe has her's, but I'm pretty sure that would incur a massive retaliation from Valimwhatever that would wipe me out immediately, AND cost me medals even if I survived, otherwise things would be a little bit easier.

Still, if anyone has any suggestions for this, that amounts to more then "Farm gil and hone stuff higher", I'm all ears, LOL. Are there any particular RW's that would be more useful then Onion Knights?

Vali is the one with the weirdo barrier things, right? You may not meed more hones; if you time the right summon to hit just when both barriers change to the same color, you'll spawn bonus doodads that drop ethers/turboethers. Definitely read up on the reddit for that one - I faceplanted on it a few times, then read up on the mechanics and pretty much rolled it.

mmm, me and timing just really don't mix, I honestly don't think I'll be able to do anything more then brute-force this fight. I saw how fast those barriers were changing, and my tablet isn't very sensitive to FFRK commands for some reason, I have to hit buttons 2 or 3 times for **** to get inputted, sooo, yeah :-(. Otherwise I'd totally try the non brute-force way.

I have only one imperil, so "elemental teams" are so far Holy only. Regardless, it's a good one.

    Spoiler: Team Holy
    Show
Celes: Maria's Song grants EnHoly, an attack boost and holy burst commands. She also got Knight 5 and White 4.
    T.G.Cid: OSBs for days.
Ramza: Shout, Fullbreak, Wrath, Unsung Hero.
Aerith: Healer BSB with entry holy damage.
Leo: Shock provides an Imperil Holy effect. It's... all he provides for now, but it's still vital.

In better news, I beat Meltdown nightmare with ease. Only got one of the weakness hitting medals, but won so quickly that I still got complete Mastery. Then I brute-forced the Curada Nightmare with Alphinaud being Alphinaud. The other nightmares still have prep dungeons that need to be completed, so I'll save those for when I'm done with Orb hunting.

Also, since I got Evoker's Doublet, I got so many great things I want from Banner 4 it's def no longer worth pulling. But I still didn't get Refia's sick burst, and I want Relm's awesome BSB, so I am considering another Banner 3 pull. Not sure yet tho.

I did my LD. Not very good, just 1/11. Penelo's Holy Rod, a SSB relic. Since I already have her BSB, it didn't improve her by much, and even if it offers +Holy damage, I already have good stat sticks for most realms, so it's of very limited use. I remember pulling hard once for this relic, back when SSBs were a novelty, so at least I finally got it.

I'd consider not, but Refia gets only one relic on the upcoming FFIII event's Banner 1, and it's not her BSB, so...

Anyways - there's only two items you're interested, which are the Shura Gloves and Relm's Burst Medica. You're facing against a dupe (I recall you got the GILGINATA, don't you?), an absurdly good Burst (Raines), and a handful of so-so SSBs (Sabin's, Noel's, Laguna's). There's also Krile's Sheepsong, and Golbez' Magi-Tanking BSB. Now, consider - are you willing to pull even if it's possible you get disappointed once again? It's not like I can do what I did on the Realm LD, since I don't plan to pull again on Banner 3 (I'm still holding up to see if there's a last-minute surprise on 13th, but if I can scrounge up about 17 Mythril before that, I might make a pull at Banner 4 and see if the THUNDER GOD SWORD lands, which would save me about 50 Mythril on the upcoming FFT Banner 2. I really shouldn't pull in Banner 4, as it has a good amount of dupes, but I'm really risking it. I'm fully accepting that my luck has gone for the worse, even though there's a few gems dropping here and there (Golbez' Burst, Papy's Burst, Vanille's Burst Medica, Gaffy's Burst, WoL's Burst, Gordon's Burst...pretty much odd-ball Bursts, to be honest).

Also, a word of advice - IF you haven't done the Daily Dungeons, make sure you spend the next week doing so. The Daily Dungeons are meant to reset on April 19th (if Reddit or Red Fel haven't told you already), and they'll bring less Mythril this time, though there'll be a Summoning Dungeon and two XP dungeons this time.

I might take a break from or fearing to try the new FFT torment fight. At first glance it looks like my Recently strengthened holy team is exactly what the doctor ordered but I haven't checked mastery requriements for the odd status requirement.

I can see that I'll need AoE damage to help clear those archeodemons quickly. Agrias' burst entry should help there, as will P.Cecil's burst and command 2. Penelo's dancer access will allow me to throw out some all purpose debuff to lessen the initial damage while her command 1 will help rush down the adds.

Wow that was by far the easiest torment dungeon that I have ever dealt with. I am tempted to try and CM it though I don't know if I will be able to pimp out enoigh damagr with Orlandu alone... I will definitely try 250 with the Team I just used since I managed to take him out in 6 turns with no medals lost.

The thing about Banner 3 is that to me there are no duds. Only dupes. And it's tempting to pull because unlike regular banners, Anniversary banners guarantee that I actually get the 5* on the banner, and not some offbanner shared relic. As for the relics themselves...

Apocalypse: Four different elements makes this a very useful OSB for me who doesn't have a single water, earth, fire or air OSB.
    Gil's Naginata: Dupe.
Cid claws: Best mage BSB and boosts dark damage.
Zeromus shard: Best summonstrike BSB. Dupe, but still something that boosts dark damage.
Shura gloves: Best monk BSB. Attached to a fire damage boosting weapon.
    Magical Brush: Best healer BSB.

The supers are... always disappointing, no matter where you pull when you can get BSBs. But the only bad one is Noel, who is a bad character in general. And Fire Lash, but only for me since I already got a 6* Fire Lash.

Maryring- I don't think there is such a guarantee for Aniversary Banners. I know that Reddit had threads with people drawing Sephiroth's OSB on banner 2. Now that isn't a dud pull (unless you are Oskar) but it is off banner.

Also Reifa's bsb is a bracer (armor) depending on your gear that might be nicer since a fire mage and fire attacker can both get great use from it.

On my side D200 Torment is down. I'll be trying D250 later but I am less confident about a CM. Yes I have Agrias and Orlandeu's BSBs and Ramza's tailwind but Titan does a metric ton of damage and I'm not sure my T team has the sustain to take him down.

Well I somehow beat the 200 Torment dungeon with a Holy Team. I tried an FFT team and didn't do too badly, but not having any kind of SB for Delita really hurt. SO I swapped him and Ovelia for Y'shtola and Pencil (Whom I recently got Paladin Force for) and egged them all to 99. That worked out, only lost two medals, and Agrias died right before the end, but I still mastered it.

And after much labor in the Orbfest mines, I have managed to level every named character to at least 80. Phew! Now I'm working on getting my last batch of pre-99 RMs (Reynn, Spellblade, Dark Knight), and on leveling some characters to 99 (probably starting with Faris for SUP damage++ and Balthier for gun damage++).

'Tis a never-ending travail to which one sets oneself.

And then tomorrow night, the game will go and ruin it by introducing a new character. So let's talk III event!

The new event is Destroyer of Light and Dark, the III event which debuts the Cloud of Darkness, a fairly standard DRK-Sage (BLK 5, WHT 4, DRK 5, uses mage weapons and whips). The event also includes Luneth, Arc, Ingus, Desch, and OK (but not Refia, which is a crime), MCs for all six, and MC2s for everyone except Ingus, because nuts to that guy. There's also the 5-star DRK ability Dire Heal (basically a turbo-charged Drain), and a free MC3 for the Cloud of Darkness, because why not. The event also features exp Enigma dungeons; the nice thing about them is that they inevitably involve only one enemy per wave (three waves per battle, three battles per dungeon as usual), meaning that you're less at risk of dying horribly. However, their best results are synergy-based, so if your III team is maxed, your results probably won't be quite Sundaily level.

The first banner features Luneth's OSB, BSBs for Luneth, Arc, and the CoDfish, and SSBs for Arc, Ingus, the CoDfish, and Refia (oh there you are!). The second banner features OSB, BSB, and both SSBs for OK, BSBs for Desch and Ingus, Arc's other SSB, and Desch's SSB. Basically, if you plan to use the CoDfish, roll on the first banner; if you want OK gear, roll on the second. Or roll on neither; our next event is the FFXI event with basically an entire cast, and after that is the FFT event with Rafah and Malak, so if either of those interests you, save it.

Alternatively, sometime in June, we're expecting the "EXTREME Fest," which is - you guessed it - another batch of five high-powered banners. Here's a preview of what JP got. If nothing thrills you, just hold out for this. And yes, it's expected to run alongside an Orbfest.

I hate III so much. I finally egged Luneth to 99 for the RM3 and I never want to see him again. Refia does seem to be the only not-lame character around.

I want more FFT. Beowulf and Reis maybe? Worker 8?

Thank as always for your run down Fel.

Likely to pull on III-2 for onion burst. I have more than enough in the war chest and it's a solid banner for my needs.

Tonight my Burst lucky result netted me 2 major black orbs. Back then I was satisfied with my 1/11 Maria BSB. Today she helped clear the Mote Red Soul CM. I RW'd Raines burst and had Emperor using the witch hat. Between all then stacking I could manage she was hitting 5x5000 with command 1 of her burst (after Raines burst wore off she was two meteor's away from her own.

Welp the same team I posted before whooped the D250 torment.... First time to beat it so huzzah. Tempted to try and run a CM team but the lack of any BSB wants to day nope to that lol

My III Realm synergy is pretty damn swell as it is and if were to pull it would be on banner 1 since the only dupr I have is Arc's SSB robe while the other banner is all dupes aside from Desch's and OK's BSB which is really bad odds.

Or I can try to pull on Malak banner I which leaves me torn. It's a top ranked BSB but I dislike the character...

Our Extreme fest will probably come after Awakening Cloud, which everyone will probably want to draw on. Even if you don't hit the jackpot on Cloud's USB, Zack's limit chain grants a critical damage boost and shout-level attack boost, and wind's a fairly common chaining element. Cloud's BSB2 is good, and Cait Sith's BSB is Hand of the Emperor plus a critical chance boost, along with stacking debuff commands. The downbanner stuff's not great, but the top-shelf stuff is excellent, and so far, Cloud's USB has not recurred, as DeNA seems to have realized what a mistake it was to create it.

But yeah, Extreme Fest is pretty great. The new USBs aren't groundbreaking (Terra's is nice), but the banners are so deep with quality bursts, and there's no legend materia duds.

The ultimates for this FFIII event are not going to be pleasant. The U can be cleared with Raines, but the U+ halves everything but dark, and the U++ is Garuda, master of instagibbing. Multiplayer's Hyne, who counters every physical attack with confuse. Enjoy your random PUGs!

    Re-Multi Synergy:

It would be really neat if they could have special events where certain characters (like Gilgamesh) get synergy in another game that the showed up in. As an example, a future XII event in which the Gilgamesh and Enkidu boss fight occurs, give Gilgamesh synergy there. In the same way have a T event where Balthier and Cloud get synergy since they appeared in War of the Lions.

I don't think I'd give them permanent synergy because that defeats part of the "team building" part of the game. Still having a dungeon in a far future DU which is the battle where you meet Balthier and he has T synergy in that specific dungeon would be a really nice touch.

Ultimately I think it might be too much work on the coding side for too small a benefit, that and too much work on the art side indicating who has "cross-over" synergy.

    Re: Cloud's USB

I know this is herasy but I'm not likely to pull for it at this time. My VII team got rather nicely updated recently to the point where an upgrade for Yuffie and a support are the only things really worth pulling for. LDs and fests will likely cover those nicely so I'm not currently hunting VII.

Re: Extreme fest - I know its way too early to by hyping. Still, looking at JPs banners.

Banner 1 is nice looking but I have all the burst but Ingus' now and non of the 6*s jump out as must haves to me.

Banner 2 This would almost certainly get a pull. The supers contain items I'd legit like, the bursts are all new and a few would be very useful and the 6*s contain some loved characters.

Banner 3 If this was available now it would probably get all my mythril. One dupe and 4 serious chase items for me on the banner. This could wind up becoming like Anniversary 4 for me though If I get seriously lucky on T or XI banners since a lot of my most wanted stuff is from there.

Banner 4 3 dupes and 3 brand-new and super awesome looking 6*s. I will pull hard for Cecil's USB while sending all my best wishes to Oskar for his Terra USB. Terra's looks awesome and I'd be jazzed to get it, but Cecil is the one I'm pulling for. The lower banner is okay for me, I'd be really happy to see it switched up a bit.

Banner 5 would probably be an easy skip. 3/4 bursts would be dupes only 1 super excites and the OSB/USBs would be nice but also don't excite too much.

Re Leveling: I used this fest to get anyone with a BSB+ to 99, I've not yet succeeded but WoL and Faris are ~95 and Minfilla (LD addition) is about 85 when she used to be 65. Certainly not bad. I've a massive egg stock pile for getting people to 65+ right now but tend to level 80-99 via exp dungeons. I have started egging some people 65-80 if their MC2 has dropped and I want to give them a MC3 because of a recent windfall.

    RE: Extreme Fest

It's a weird one. I was updating my spreadsheets with the banners i was looking forward to (Specifically Rafa/malak's Orlandeau overdose banner 2, Squall's BSB2 and Cloud USB)

Extremefest will be dropping sometimes around the FFV Gogo event or our first FFXV event, which means right between Squall and Cloud. Noting that Squall's BSB2 is actually pretty darn good and Cloud USB is the meta-maker.

Assuming we get the same 80 mythril JP got around that time (25 for the orbfest, 11 for the Zenith of Chaos event that went alongside the fest, 44 for christmas/newyears... ok we'll call this the "happy summer funtime" or something mythril) I'm having a hard time planning my mythril.

Looking over the banners I see a few dupes

Banner 1 - Maria and Priche items are really nice. 1 dupe, Ingus shield
Banner 2 - Kuja, Quistis, Raines & Edge stuff look promising. 1 dupe, Quistis armour
Banner 3 - Shantotto, Garnet, Desh & Rafa... ugh... i wants. 2 dupes, both Ashe.
Banner 4 - Fujin's the grand prize, but Terra & Greg are good too. 3 dupes though...
Banner 5 - Hope and... Cloud of Darkness? 1 dupe (Minfilia), 1 equivalent (Agrias BSB, i have Beatrix BSB)

They're really good banners and any of the medicas, be they BSB or stuff like Rosa's USB Faerie's Bow, I would not be adverse to, but I'm not particularly looking for medicas at this point so they're happy consolation prizes. Banner 2 & 3 seem to have the most good stuff for me.

But it's that mythril allocation, man.

I need to look at the Squall BSB-2 banner. That relic has me wondering when I should let myself pull for "stacked" realms which have "aging" RS rather than realms with next to nothing.

I am unlikely to pull on the future FFI-Möbius event despite my RS there being limited to WoL's OSB and a 4 hit drain strike SSB for Garland.

I'm unlikely to pull on II banners despite having only one relic (Maria BSB) for II.

On the other hand I am almost certain to pull on Ceodore II for Cecil, Edge, Palom, and Porom. I'm IV I have Cecil's bsb and SSB, Ice whip+, bloodbspear, D. Cecil's 2 hit boostga, Tellah's polymorph rod, edge's water katana+, a 5* hat, both 4* robes evolved, a shared SB bracer and a 5*+ stat bracer, and a 4* evolved light armor and dagger. It's a strong synergy realm but it is getting out-dated for SBs and lacks a medica.

in VIII I have a pretty potent set of SSBs but no bsbs or better yet. I'd be wise to go mage meta with my relics. Squalls bsb2 fits my VIII meta well right now too so it is very tempting, depending on the rest of the banner.

So yeah - the last bits of the Anniversary end tomorrow, and thus, everything will return to a sense of normalcy, in a way. At 146 Mythril, that means I *could* afford that last Banner 4 pull and hope for THUNDER GOD SWORD, but I recognize it'll be a dupe. That said, if the pull is right, I basically get the refund of not pulling on FFT Banner 2, which is a plus. Then again, if BOTH fail, there's still Extremefest Banner 3, which has all the Lightnings. All of them.

But of course, I'm in for Banner 4 anyways. And if the stars align, the Overstrike Lucky Draw. That is, if the Gift Bag pulls through - there's supposed to be a rehash of the Curaga Medica/En-Element/BSB Lucky Draws, so prepare to turn all that Mythril into salt, anyways, if that's to happen. With Terra at level 98, that OSBLD could unleash her true full potential, particularly if that Apocalypse happens to land as well - between Scorching Flames and...whatever the name ends up being (unless it actually gets called "Omen")...

But yeah. 146 Mythril. Plus the two from tomorrow and two more Elite Dungeons, I can comfortably get the 150 Mythril I want before the III event, do the Banner 4 pull (unless, again, we get a "surprise!" return of Player's Choice - I mean, it *could* happen...), then hunt for Onionverstrike (or get rewarded with salt).
