Re: Pokémon Thread XXVIII: Get. In. The. BAG.
Have you found how you can train against the team leaders yet? It should be in there somewhere but I don't see it.

Not as of yet.
With my game glitching out I'm not sure it'd work for me anyway.

Ah, it's in nearby, with the wild Pokémon and the raids.
It's also super easy. And it hands out Sinnoh stones. The Hindsight Awards, results: See the best movies of 1999!

Re: Pokémon Thread XXVIII: Get. In. The. BAG.
What would be everyone's favourite Tier to play in?
OU? UU? CAP? Singles/Doubles? Ubers? I quite like CAP because I've been following for a while, but it's very different from OU given the 28 new Pokémon it has.

I mostly play Doubles Ubers. I used to also play AG sometimes, but I've kinda stopped.

Re: Pokémon Thread XXVIII: Get. In. The. BAG.
I often come up with teams of pretty mixed tiers, and then play in the highest one I have represented. Often this ends up being UU, so at least the weaklings on my team don't need to tackle the real powerhouses. I usually play singles as well. Doubles should be a thing I really like, lots of cool dynamics, but somehow I never really got into it. Also maybe because I like ground types a bit too much, so I always end up eartquaking myself...
For a for fun tournament I'm open to something like ubers as well, eveyone gets to use what they like.Last edited by Lvl 2 Expert; 2018-12-15 at 06:08 PM.

Re: Pokémon Thread XXVIII: Get. In. The. BAG.
Huh, was just referring a PoGo newbie here from another thread and noticed there are only three friend codes listed in the OP even though I know I have nearly a dozen GitP friends...
Perhaps we need another PoGo GitP friend code role call?

I reloaded PoGo in gleeful anticipation of my Roselia swarm evolving their prime member into Roserade, and I've discovered I need a Sunstone which is a rare pokestop item. Well, consider my spirits for the game dampened.

Re: Pokémon Thread XXVIII: Get. In. The. BAG.
Yeah, I also managed to lose once by now. I think I had some derpy mon of cp's for a league lower or so, but that still shouldn't have been enough without me not paying attention. Oops...
I also played and lost my first three matches against humans today. I had declared myself champion of the local great league, I lost that title in the first match and failed to become champion in the other two leagues in the next two matches. Wait, claiming to be the best and then utterly failing... I may be Ash.
The rules I introduced for the champion position are basically boxing style. You can challenge the current champion, if you beat them you're now the champion. The champion may only refuse the challenge if it's impossible to plan (like they're on vacation) or they already had a fight with that same person in that same league within the last week. Whether you failed to win the title or failed to defeat it, no instant rematches. The champion is not bound to any special rules for the battles themselves and can freely use different teams, mon and moves. The three leagues run completely separate from each other, matches and titles in one league mean nothing for the others.
Evolution items aren't that hard to get. They can be quest rewards and they even sometimes drop straight from pokéstops and gifts. I also thought they were a pretty common raid reward, but I'm not sure. I understand it's a bummer, but if you find other parts of the game you enjoy and keep playing you'll probably have the stone pretty soon. I currently have ten sun stones in my inventory, to give you an idea of their rarity, although granted I'm not a grass type fan.Last edited by Lvl 2 Expert; 2018-12-22 at 07:42 AM.

Re: Pokémon Thread XXVIII: Get. In. The. BAG.
So, I (a bit belatedly, and somewhat to my surprise) got OemgaRuby for Christmas. (Santa apparently missed it...)
I am thus starting to consdier what team I should assemble for it. I'm thinking (as I had one half-considered) a Rain Team... According to what I have scribbled down from aaaaages ago, Swampert, Swanna, Politoed (no duh) and Gastrodon, with a possibioity of Clauncher.
Any other interesting or useful suggestions would be welcome.

Re: Pokémon Thread XXVIII: Get. In. The. BAG.
Ehh, if you've already got a swiftswimmer (like Mega 'Pert, for example). I think that Rain Dish could be the better option. Having something able to come in and soak a few hits is always good, especially if you can use it to take out the thing that was threatening your sweeper. But, yes. Ludicolo would be a good addition. If you do want a second swiftswimmer, I'd probably go with Kingdra before Ludicolo, even.

Re: Pokémon Thread XXVIII: Get. In. The. BAG.
Well, I nicked a "Sinnoh Stone" from a 7 day chain of rewards, and Roserade is strong but weirdly enough still weaker than Espeon. I am a bit bummed still but there's enough to do. Caught a 1.400 CP Moltres which is of no use in combat but I am glad it was weaker so I could add it to the Pokedex.

Re: Pokémon Thread XXVIII: Get. In. The. BAG.
Kingdra is a massive pain to obtain, though. You need someone to trade with and then you need to go get a Horsea which you can only get near the end of the game in a kind of specific place while fishing. You also need to get a Dragon Scale, which I forget how to get in OR/AS so that might not be super hard.
On the other hand getting a Ludicolo in OR is pretty hard since I think it's a AS exclusive, so there's that.

Re: Pokémon Thread XXVIII: Get. In. The. BAG.
I will be (as per my usual) be breeding up said team before transferring them in (these days by Pokébank) - save possibly the starter - so obtaining stuff isn't too hard (especially since I have not moved by living Dex up to Gen VII yet).

I can't find info on what moveset Groudon starts with in OR, but if it has a damaging ground-type move... bring Pelliper.

Re: Pokémon Thread XXVIII: Get. In. The. BAG.
Primal Groudon has two Ground-type attacks when it's encountered (Earthquake and its signature Precipice Blades), but between Desolate Land and its Ground/Fire typing it has more than enough power on its Lava Plume to threaten Pelipper's mediocre defenses, in spite of the latter's type advantage.

Re: Pokémon Thread XXVIII: Get. In. The. BAG.
A full water team should have no problems with Groudon, despite hindering weather. It shouldn't be any harder than a regular story level legendary boss fight/catch. A full ground team VS Kyogre would be much more problematic.
