Re: 101 plots for superhero rpgs
295. An alien vessel crash lands on earth, just outside the city. The crew has died, but the AI has survived, sending out drones to collect materials to help repair the ship. But when the drones go far as to tearing cars and trucks apart as well as stealing from stores, it is up to the heroes to bring order to the chaos.

Re: 101 plots for superhero rpgs
296: A secret society of communists have completed an AI that perfectly emulates the personality of Joseph Stalin. They convince another villain to mind-control the US military and orchestrate a violent overthrow of the government, placing AI-Stalin in charge. The mind-control is then transferred to the AI, and a new Great Purge begins across America that the heroes are now targets of.
297: Meanwhile, a nazi society has recovered the body of Hitler and by means of magic has placed his soul into a giant mecha. Seeking revenge for WW2, Hitler sets out to destroy the communist Amerika and end AI-Stalin. The heroes now have to fight mecha-Hitler as well.

Re: 101 plots for superhero rpgs
298.) Ragnarok is happening. Worse still, most of the world's leaders are adamantly denying this fact in order to pander to religious special interests (as these generally tend to be non-odinist in nature).
299.) A local organic farm is being propped up by a malevolent agricultural cult like the ones in The Wicker Man and Children of the Corn
EDIT:
300.) The farm-cult from 299 eventually gets into a war with another evil farm of opposite approach to technology. This second farm is run by a Monsanto-like company developing a strain of genetically engineered killer nazi cabbages with which to take over the world.Last edited by Bohandas; 2017-05-25 at 08:08 PM.

Re: 101 plots for superhero rpgs
312. The heroes find themselves in some sort of game show in another dimension, where they'll have to compete against other heroes and villains in hazardous challenges to win fabulous prizes (such as a new headquarters, a new vehicle, gain a level or two). And the losers will be erased from existence forever!
313. There is an underground supervillain race where the villain's compete for a grand prize. And the race usually causes a lot of collateral damage throughout the city. Can the heroes put this supervillain racing events to a complete stop?
314. The high-tech suit of a superhero malfunctions, causing it to go out of control! Can the heroes stop the suit before it can do too much damage?
315. An alien ship has crashed landed onto earth, and the slaves try to flee while their captors aren't too far behind. Can the heroes protect the alien slaves from the alien slavers?
316. A peaceful protest turns chaotic when it turns out that one of the protesters has superpowers, and uses those powers to take aggressive action against what was being protested against.

322. There is a new super villain in town! But he's really bad at being a villain. What will the heroes do with him?
323. The city is being destroyed by a giant flying eye that shoots lasers!
324. A supervillain is holding a hospital/laboratory hostage, saying that he'll kill everyone there unless he gets a cure for his condition.
325. A hidden civilization of superpowered people (not humans, but related) has been uncovered, which provokes the superpowered race to declare war on the human race! Will the heroes fight them off, or talk them into calling off the war?
326. An extraterrestrial lifeform has landed on earth, and it is slowly growing. Can the heroes find the lifeform before it becomes big enough to destroy the entire city?

Re: 101 plots for superhero rpgs
328. A Von Neumann machine (an artificial interstellar spaceship with onboard factory for making a number if copies of itself and fuel to power them, in this case alien in origin) has landed in some semi-remote but resource rich part of the world, like Ferghana valley, or Norway, or downtown Houston/Detroit, and started strip mining the place for anything of value. This includes fresh organics.

331.) The heroes' resident Captain America expy gains an archnemesis in the form of The Cargo Cult Patriot, a villain who worships the symbols of America (the flag, the founding fathers, the national anthem, the words "freedom" and "democracy" {but not the concepts that those words denote}, etc.) almost like gods, but espouses an ideology of authoritarian fascism and religious establishmentarianism

Re: 101 plots for superhero rpgs
It's tempting to make a politics joke, but I'm not stupid. It's also tempting to make a Hydra Captain America joke, but I don't know enough about the comics for that. So I'll just post my own thing.
332.) One of the superpowered gangs in the city recently recruited a powerful superhuman, and are leveraging the recruit's power to force large numbers of people to work for them, take over swathes of territory, etc. Heroes and villains alike need to work together against this gang, who will be pulling out all the stops once the full force of every superhuman in the city is against them.

You want us to fight a clown? No? Ah, two clowns. Listen gramps, clowns ain't cool no more. That may have worked in your day but we fight real villains. I have more to do, come back when you have something worth my time. Back your days? Well, why don't you take him on yourself then? I thought so, you don't just dress like some sort of flying rodent, you act like one as well. Come on boys, let's get out of here.

Re: 101 plots for superhero rpgs
Well, the endgame plan of that plot could be a number of things. Like building a new civilization (or world order) with themselves in charge, getting rid of all the humans so that aliens can colonize earth, or even saving the entire human race from the end of the world.
342) An evil computer virus takes control of the heroes' headquarters, turning their base of operations into a death trap!

Re: 101 plots for superhero rpgs
344. An ancient fae queen has awakened and is attempting to reassert her reign over the land by magically overrunning the city with a massive, monster-infested forest domain.
345. The team's home country declares war on another, requiring that all heroes of both countries be conscripted into the military to fight their nation's battles. Can the heroes end the conflict prematurely before the bloodshed begins?
346. Enormous monsters begin surfacing all over the world and attacking major locales, and it's up to the heroes to rally their world's defenders to repel this massive threat.
347. An artificial intelligence gone rogue is targeting the president, taking control of anything technological it can find in an effort to eliminate the nation's top executive.
348. The new hero in town is revealed to have two conflicting personalities that swap at random: one is kind, benevolent, and heroic, while the other is a nihilistic vigilante who frequently employs excessive violence when taking down criminals. The heroes have to decide whether this new hero is too risky to stay on the streets.
349. Valuable artifacts all over the city are abruptly stolen over the course of one night- seemingly all by the same person. The team must catch the culprit before they escape with their prizes.
350. The apocalypse has come, and this time there's no stopping it. Can the heroes devise a desperate last-minute plan to save humanity by alternate means, or is it time to give up and say last goodbyes to their loved ones?
351. One of the heroes is attacked and possessed by an alien body-snatcher. The alien is benevolent and actually wants to be a hero, but it doesn't really understand what's wrong with suppressing the mind of another to get what it wants.
352. The team has just gained a new member; an ex-supervillain who seems to be making a genuine attempt at reforming. But will rough interactions with an unforgiving public, reunions with old contacts in the criminal underworld, and temptation to employ lethal force curb this crook's attempt at atonement? My Homebrew
