Let's see... I like to think there were no Alien vs Predator movies, and their only real crossover was that awesome Capcom arcade game from the 90's!

Re: What's your favorite headcanon?
In Star Wars, if Tarkin hadn't died in the Battle of Yavin henwould eventually have replaced Darth Vader as Palpatine's apprentice. Tarkin didn't have Vader's talent with force magic, but I feel he had a better understanding of ruthlessness and evil. The ability to conjure up lightning and choke someone out from across the room isn't the power of the dark side, the true power of the dark side is the viciousness to do whatever it takes - no matter how horrible - in order to achieve your goals; to kill a billion hostages to get one prisoner to talk, to destroy your own resources to eliminate a rival, and so forth

That's rediculous, Tarkin was old. The emperor's been around for 20 years and Tarkin's been an officer of rank for all those. He's a lord of considerable territories. The man is neither interested in or capable of using the force.
Tarkin and Vader get along because they worked together in republic days, and they recognize eachother as competent.

Re: What's your favorite headcanon?
Pokémon master is a title similar to Master of Science and Master of Arts. Ash is building a resumé to get him into a good University. And that's why he seeks so much advice from a professor.
(Even though it's my headcanon that Pokémon professors don't exist, they're dressed up relatives that hand out starters to kids that don't live near enough a gym to get a starter from them, which is why the "official" starters are so super rare. I'm not sure how to completely allow these head canons to coexist yet.)The Hindsight Awards, results: See the best movies of 1999!

Re: What's your favorite headcanon?
Easy. Professor Oak actually is a professor, just of... I dunno, biology or something. The fact that he had close ties to the community was a happy coincidence and made him a natural choice, and explaining him as a Pokémon Professor is easier than explaining the study of biology to a 10 year old.

Oak is in academic disgrace because of his habit of handing out half-feral wild monsters to preteen children, hence his isolated life in Pallet Town.

Re: What's your favorite headcanon?
I look on "Pokemon Master" as a sort of general mastery of the fields. Like, a general practitioner instead of a specialist though not quite the same. There are so many fields of pokemon study, from trainers, to breeders, to contests, to research. Ash is seeking to be considered an authority in all the areas. He doesnt just want to be the best pokemon trainer to ever exist (though its clear thats his primary focus) he wants to be an expert in any field related to pokemon.

I swear I used the search function before posting that, but I'm getting a pretty strong deja vu from this discussion, so I might have posted that theory before.

Re: What's your favorite headcanon?
I like the Game Theory idea that Pokemon Go is the first game chronologically and at some point in the future Team Valor will war against Teams Instinct and Mystic. Valor will ultimately lose which is why we do not see any Gym Leaders or Professors with Valor's mindset in the later games. And that this will be the great war that Lt Surge refers to in Pokemon Red and Blue.
If you find yourself watching Power Rangers and wonder how some characters got their powers and zords back for an anniversary episode, just assume they were restored off screen. They have 20+ seasons of team geniuses to call on.

Re: What's your favorite headcanon?
But nobody else in their world has any problem with treating ten year olds as if they were actually sixteen or seventeen years old.
It reminds me a little of the insane politician from the movie Bananas: "...and furthermore all children under sixteen years old are now sixteen years old"Last edited by Bohandas; 2019-01-28 at 04:44 AM.

Sauron/Saruman were progressive visionaries trying to better middle earth, but are made to appear evil when filtered through the regressive lenses of Tolkien.

Re: What's your favorite headcanon?
I'm kind of amazed that we are policing the concept of headcanons now. "No that piece of unintended interpretation doesn't obey the rules!"
The whole concept of a headcanon is on par with old fashioned lit theory where we try to dissect the curtain colors for freudian analysis. It is for fun.
