Re: My Little Pony XCVII: Cheerilee's Lonely Hearts Club
Nah, I'm usually too busy being drowned when every body of water in the world repeatedly floods the world!
Seriously.
Every. Time. On holiday at the seaside, whatever... Unrelated, entirely, dream ends with the water level rising to flood the world.
(And you wonder why I a) have an aversion to water and b) jumped ship to a non-breathing form as soon as I could!)Last edited by Aotrs Commander; 2017-09-27 at 08:31 PM.

Re: My Little Pony XCVII: Cheerilee's Lonely Hearts Club
Actually, I think this is the first time you've mentioned that since I joined this thread.
Regardless, I suggest enfusing yourself with primal elemental energy from the plane of water to the point of saturation and holding it in until your body internalizes it and you metamorphose into a form that is both adapted to water but has a potent affinity for water magics.
I know a guy who knows a guy who over came his fear of the dark the same way.(Do'nt try doing it with more than one element. Bad things happen when you try.)
So I found out that Eddie Brock is Venom again in Marvel's main continuity. It kind of pisses me off.SpoilerSpoiler: Bonus Image just becuaseI also answer to Bookmark and Shadow Claw.

Yikes. Did not notice that.
Spoiler: Health of Information
So, are they going to bring that minotaur to flatten the forest now? Or at least this area?
Also, it kind of looks like the trees around Hayseed Swamp:

My first thought when they arrived there was: "Oh, no. This place is abandoned because the plague wiped out everyone!"
Now I'm thinking with ponies!

Re: My Little Pony XCVII: Cheerilee's Lonely Hearts Club
What would happen if you used the honey from S7E20 on someone that already turned into a tree?
If the pony was cocooned in the tree and put in stasis, then they might come back. This could be an explanation for a person returning from the past without having to involve time travel shenanigans.
Spoiler: Speculation on future episodeAlthough I highly doubt it, this could be how Starswirl shows up in the finale.
Alternately, the pony is already dead, consumed for food by the tree. In that case, the honey either does nothing or kills the tree.

Spoiler: Heath of InfoWell, maybe not abandoned, if those trees were formerly ponies. :x
Rather than flatten the Everfree, perhaps just get a hazmat team to chop the specific offensive tree(s) so no one else gets sick from them.
Gonna have to agree with that being my least fav too.
Spoiler: Health of InfoI'm thinking once they pass a certain point, the pony dies and is consumed by the sprouting tree. The honey will probably do nothing.Last edited by DigoDragon; 2017-09-28 at 05:04 PM.

Re: My Little Pony XCVII: Cheerilee's Lonely Hearts Club
How much is the possibility of an Equestria Girls series? I don't know, but at this point, I think I'd prefer it over more MLP. I think that goes to me watching a lot of anime lately, but it feels like the world could use a lot of fleshing out. There is magic now, and each of the girls has a unique super power to go along with it. You could easily mix slice of life stuff with adventure things, and we already saw a bit of this with the three episodes that were released.

Re: My Little Pony XCVII: Cheerilee's Lonely Hearts Club
CMC Forever!!
Spoiler: New CMC Episode*pounds fist on table* I want to go to Cutie Mark Camp!
I liked this episode! It did a pretty good job teaching the fillies and colts about what cutie marks are. And it can be relatable to us here in boring old human world--Like for me, I totally fit with Kettlecorn there. I probably would get a cutie mark in customer service. I'm a people person, I'm organized, and I help other out pretty well. I'm good at it. But what I really like to do is draw art and cartoons. Not my best skillset, but it's fun, and just cause I'm really good at customer service, it doesn't mean I can't do other things.
Good job crusaders. 9/10, would attend camp.
Other notes:
- Not the voice I imagined Thunderlane with, but it's fine. Glad he helped his little brother out cause colt, I was gonna nail him with a sack of apples.
- Angry Sweetie Belle is too cute to take seriously. Also her derp face when she explained the sitch to Thunderlane. XD
- Rumble's song was pretty good. I liked the beat.

Re: My Little Pony XCVII: Cheerilee's Lonely Hearts Club
Spoiler: Marks and RecreationYeah, I was watching how many people were betting that Rumble was gonna get his cutie mark by the end of the episode. Heh, could have made a killing taking that bet.
Maybe they could still work it out if he did, but I think not getting it was the better move. And again, hurrah for Thunderlane being a good big bro and helping Rumble see the big picture.

Re: My Little Pony XCVII: Cheerilee's Lonely Hearts Club
Spoiler: Marks and RecreationOh, it's the Rumble one. I had totally forgot about ... whatever preview we saw earlier.
Not sure about Thunderlane's new voice.
Haiku-slash-circle pone is cute. I'mma call her Archimedes.
*
Not a bad episode, but maybe I wasn't quite in the mood tonight. Sweetie arguing got a smile from me, though.
*
Crusaders: "Everyone has to have a job! Don't be a slacker sitting around painting circles all day."
Archimedes: "But ... I like painting circles. And--"
C: "Painting circles doesn't contribute anything. You need a *Job*."
A: "But ..."
C: "What else can you do?"
A: "I ... can write hai--"
C: "Perfect! The world craves clickbait titles nowadays, so we need writers to write more of them! No experience or talent required, it's perfect! You can start immediately by putting five thousand inane articles on my desk by morning. Chop chop! You can draw circles in your free time, or whatever. Not that you'll have any."
A: "But ..." *Despondent sigh* "I'd better get to work. I guess these articles have meaning ... or value ... or something. Otherwise surely I wouldn't be writing so many of them. Much more important than drawing circles ... I guess."
I never realized before, but this analogy is quite accurate.

Re: My Little Pony XCVII: Cheerilee's Lonely Hearts Club
Spoiler: Marks and recreationWell, foals staring at the camera with excited anticipation should be referred to the Geneva Convention for dangerous levels of weaponised cuteness.
Not sure as to Rumble's song; it grew on me a bit as it went on but something about it grated. One thing we know; Rumble ain't getting a treble clef cutie mark.
Enjoyable ep though, nice analysis and minor criticism of cutie marks and their perception, though Haiku-pony wasn't really helping the CMC's case that marks don't take you over (possible headcanon: due to a famous poem, a stylised Sun is the Zebrican symbol for couplets ).
And is it just me who's starting to wonder if there are any adult pegasi who HAVEN'T joined the Wonderbolts at this rate? Also thinking if Thunderlane's callsign is "Pukeboiler" or something equally incentivising to Git Gud :D

Re: My Little Pony XCVII: Cheerilee's Lonely Hearts Club
The movie will be released next week. Everyone prepare.
Let's watch this weekend's new MLP episode, S7 E21.
Spoiler: S7 E21S7 E21 Marks and recreation.
I'm quite spoiled about this one, because I watched the early preview two weeks ago. Basically the Cutie mark crusaders run a camp for fillies about how to get a cutie mark, but a filly called Rumble takes too much initiative and hijacks the camp to spread his views about why you shouldn't get a cutie mark and remain a blankflank forever. From the preview alone, this seemed rude to me not because of what he says, but because he abuses the camp for this, disrespecting its organizers. I recalled S5 E4 Bloom and gloom, in which the crusaders had trouble with the same notion, so eventually Princess Luna intervened personally to explain the basic lesson about what cutie marks are. I said I was hoping that maybe two seasons later we're ready to learn one of the advanced lessons about being an adult.
So now, I'll watch the episode, with thoughts written as I watch.
- Circle painting must be useful for Equestria, because half of the ponies have a circular head.
- (Scootaloo says some nonsense to the painter pony.) Scootaloo is talking unintelligibly again, I had to read her words in the transcript. Ah, I see. The Crusaders will botch up the camp on their own, so Rumble won't have to do much. That's how this episode is going to go. I didn't think of that, but it's obvious in hindsight that it has to happen.
- "Camp Friendship"? Seriously? Can't they just go to Camp Everfree instead? That seemed like a nice place. "Camp Friendship" just sounds bad already. The problem is that both "camp" and "friendship" were words abused in the communist regime to name things that weren't at all like their name. The two words separately came up a lot in MLP, but putting the two together just has bad vibes, as if it was a name for a KISZ építőtábor for extracting free labor from the fillies or worse.
- Ah, and Rumble will be sent into the camp against his will. Great setup for an antagonist. I told you he won't be just a stupid bully.
- Hopefully Rumble's brother (called Thunderlane according to the transcript) will get some karmic punishment for being so manipulative with his brother.
- By the way, for the very first time, Tornado Bolt has a legitimate excuse for not being in this episode. She's one of those background ponies who have a clone living in all cities at the same time, but she has a tornado cutie mark, so she won't come into a camp for blankflanks.
- Rumble will get her cutie mark in musicals. He starts to sing, and there's immediately accompanying music in the background and all the other ponies come to him and join singing.
- Ah good. I must have seen this scene wrong in the previews. Rumble only takes one of the three paddles from the three canoeing earth ponies, they then throw away the other two paddles on their own for no reason. That's not as nasty bullying and abusing her flight as I thought.
- (Rumble leaves with the other ponies.) I'm not sure what to think. Maybe they're still enjoy the camp without the crusaders. It's not wrong for them to have a free day or two from searching for cutie marks. It's not like the Crusaders are so good at organizing a camp that whatever Rumble suggests will be worse. In fact, it might turn out to be better.
- (Scootaloo has an idea.) Oh! They won't call in Luna, but they will call for help when they're stuck. Way to go, Scootaloo.
- No! Not Rumble's brother! I thought they'd call in someone competent. Or… at least someone popular, like Rainbow Dash. Or something.
- They call in Thunderlane just to be there with the fillies? I guess that does actually make sense. In this strange situation they got themselves into, I mean.
- Well that was an. I'm lost for words. An interesting episode, but I couldn't make much sense of it. Needs more time to settle down. I'll have to read what you say and react to that. All I'm sure about is that this was very different from what I expected, even though I don't know what I expected. Good thing the gamp is saved and the situation diffused at least, although I still don't know if the Crusaders are good at leading such a daycare camp really.
Replies to your comments about the new episode.
Spoiler: S7 E21Oh no! That's what I said too. If everyone says that, then there'll be nothing to bounce off.
Spoiler: S7 E21Yeah, I was a bit afraid of that. But then, we know from Luna that she can only get a cutie mark for something she already knows she likes to do, so it would have been pretty much impossible anyway.
Spoiler: S7 E21I dunno. I mean, sure, it's nice that Thunderlane helped to fix what he broke, but I'm not sure if that was the best way to fix the camp.
Spoiler: S7 E21Haha, nice name. And funny sketch.
Spoiler: S7 E21Yes. We've seen a lot of pegasus in Cloudsdale working in the weather factory, and I suspect that many of them do it full time. And there's Fluttershy too. But yeah, being a Wonderbolt and fixing weather might be about the only big carrier options for pegasuses. That must suck.Last edited by b_jonas; 2017-09-30 at 05:46 PM.

Re: My Little Pony XCVII: Cheerilee's Lonely Hearts Club
Is it already time for new pony? Time drifts away so quickly. When's the season finale again?
Spoiler: Episode 21
Well.
Well well well well well well....
Now this episode is troubling.
- Is applebloom losing her accent? She doen't sound very "southern" in this episode.
- So now "blank flank" is used proudly by ponies? Guess it's not a curse word any more.
- Thunderlane speaks! And he sounds way too "bro" for my tastes. Maybe he'll get along with Shining Armor.
- Congratulations Rumble, you're the new winner of the "Diamond Tiara Award for Most Terrible Young Pony"! Please report to the nearest glue factory for your prize.
- A cutie mark in Haiku? That's unusual... Guess it takes all sorts. Those circle drawings and haikus make me want to play Okami again...
- So now she speaks in haikus? Remind me of that one Avatar episode. "Too many syllables, bub".
- Yeah, the CMC have totally stopped doing things other than discovering cutie marks. Like how Scootaloo never zooms around on her scooter any more, or how
Sweetie Belle never sings. Applebloom, you silly, silly pony.
+ Actually, the ending kind of made sense. Rumble just wanted to emulate his brother, and was afraid the way would be closed after discovering a talent for something else. I can identify with that problem. But still, he went about it in a very wrong way.
Not one of the better CMC episodes, in my opinion.
Now I'm thinking with ponies!

Re: My Little Pony XCVII: Cheerilee's Lonely Hearts Club
Or for 2-4 weeks in a lot of places, including the UK and Australia, unless, for some reason, you live in Italy, in which case, you inexplicably have the better part of two months to wait.
Spoiler: s7e21Jolly good, we've not forgotten the CMC exist...
They are actually really good at their jobs.
Apparently, though stupidity starts early in ponies. Small ponies, you are ignoring the triple-marked experts who some one you know extremely well (Pip) and whose special talent at least some of you SAW MANIFEST, in favour of a miserable, sulky idiot why, exactly?
Sweetie is so Rarity's sister and I love it when that resemblence comes up.
(Are we SURE that Rumble isn't the mind of the Decepticon in explicably in the body of a pony?)
Thunderlane, at least, apparently isn't quite as daft as he sounds.
I actually though his good social skills in dealng with the kids were a nice touch nd makes a lot of sense; as a Wonderbolt, this is the sort of thing you'd expect them to be good at. (And why Lightning Dust would likely never have made it...!)
Not a bad episode - though the full brunt of the message is perhaps lost on humans, the reminder that few people indeed are completely just about one thing. Even I occasionally have a second dimension...!
Right, back through thread...
Spoiler: s7e21Was that the first time Thunderlane had a speaking part? If it was, it didn't register.
Spoiler: s7e21I dunno, I was really hoping he got his cutie mark in singing or manipulation or something during that musical number (which I wasn't very struck by, to be honest) on the basis that would have served the little bugger right. The expression of existential horror on his face would have been PRICELESS. I'd have laughed so hard...!
And, on that note, I fear I shall have to cut this short, since I was a bit late having finished the AoE3 native American campaign (thank badness, I am fed-up of not having walls or fortifications and I'd like my mortars back, please) and spent too long on the first Japanese one.Last edited by Aotrs Commander; 2017-09-30 at 09:24 PM.

Re: My Little Pony XCVII: Cheerilee's Lonely Hearts Club
Spoiler: S7 E21Yeah, I should have looked at the credits yesterday. Thunderlane is voiced by Trevor Devall, the actor who voiced Hoity Toity, Fancy Pants, and Iron Will. Rumble was voiced by Vincent Tong, the actor who voiced Prince Blueblood, Flash Sentry, Donut Joe, and Garble.
Spoiler: S7 E21I don't think they've seen enough to really understand the Crusaders' story. Were they even there to witness all that interaction with Diamond Tiara at least? I don't think so, because Diamond Tiara wouldn't have sang all those things aloud for everypony to hear. Nor were they there in all the previous Crusaders episodes, and they definitely weren't there when Luna gave them some basic instructions about cutie marks. I think the fillies, even Pip, just don't know enough to understand them.
Yes, but that's simply not how cutie marks work.
They don't have walls? But the native americans in my Karl May book have pretty nice walls made of wooden posts with sharp ends. No mortar, but they don't need it.

Re: My Little Pony XCVII: Cheerilee's Lonely Hearts Club
No, apparently in the mystical world of Age of Empires 3, the wall is some magic European invention. (I realised after quitting the game that Japan also does not appear to have walls.) It's frustrating, since the entire point of walls is so that you don't have to split your very limited defences (in the case of the Native Americans, it's your infantry-producing building) and capped number of troops every freaking where and instead funnel them to an entrance point. I mean, when the GAME MAP ITSELF has to wall you in with cliffs to narrow your defensive frontage, I think there's something wrong.
Japan, at least, has castles and an upgrade doofer for More Castles (since otherwise, you can only build five). Building defences are just woefully inadequate, though, compared to AoE 2 for reasons which might perhap have some histrocial basis in the age of gunpowder, but really have not helped the gameplay.

Re: My Little Pony XCVII: Cheerilee's Lonely Hearts Club
And this isn't only in campaign mode, but also in versus mode, right? I mean, it can make sense to make walls off-limit in campaign mode, partly for story reasons, and partly because the artificial unintelligence of the enemy can't deal with walls properly, as in, it doesn't know when and where to destroy your walls.

Re: My Little Pony XCVII: Cheerilee's Lonely Hearts Club
What also floats in water?
Spoiler: A duck!!
Spoiler: Marks & RecI think her name is Kettlecorn, but I guess if you wanna call her Archimedes you could.
She seems to buck the trend that ponies tend to have names that relate to their talents too.
Bluh. :/
I'm broke, doubt I'll be catching it in theaters unless I hit a windfall.
Spoiler: Marks & RecHaha, nope! Thunderlane ends up being the big help to fix the issue at the end.
I think what you might have missed is the context Thunderlane explained to the cmc--Rumble has been like that moody self for quite some time. As a big brother he was concerned that Rumble was shunning off everything else to just be like Thunder, and that's not how life is.Everyone has to find their own path.
Spoiler: Marks & REcFirst time I remember him speaking. I think Rumble spoke once before in Hurricane Fluttershy, but I don't remember if he sounded the same then.
