The end of what Son? The story? There is no end. There's just the point where the storytellers stop talking.

Re: Erfworld Thread X: A Series of Unfortunate Cliffhangers
I'd just like to point out that the stop/hammertime thing is a book one joke. I do hope it loses, I'd feel like a lying liar who lies posting in an Erfian thread with that name. :(
Also, there's been an update strangely enough. Transylvito I'm afraid.Last edited by Whispri; 2018-07-20 at 11:10 PM.

Re: Erfworld Thread X: A Series of Unfortunate Cliffhangers
In my opinion, at least, it's better to have a somewhat-stale joke about the comic rather than a meta-commentary about problems with the comic. Especially given the current circumstances regarding the update schedule. While I agree that it's certainly not the best title, it's at least one with relevance to the contents. Just my two cents, anyways.

Re: Erfworld Thread X: A Series of Unfortunate Cliffhangers
First update of the month appears and...
I know it's a common thing to say "nothing happens" but, holy god, NOTHING HAPPENS. I hope you like fillier, cause Rob has whipped up a big dose of it, just for you. Other than a bit of talk about the Tower's signamancy, the words it uses, and it costs 27 smuckers to make that big tablet of demands, everything talked about has already happened. There are no new thoughts. There is nothing here.
I think Rob is worried that we forgot what's going on so he did a rehash update.
There is one thing I don't get though, how on earth can you tell who is commanding a scouting bat?

Re: Erfworld Thread X: A Series of Unfortunate Cliffhangers
An update is an update.
SpoilerI found it rather frustrating. The first part was good, we learn what Shirley demands, we learn that Huehue respects authority, and we get to know about about Ben and TV. The second part is not so good. We get the implication that Appletini is important, but the overuse of unintelligible words makes the reading annoying, and at the end I have no idea what he means. It looks like the small plot of Appletini and Cheri gets expanded. To my dismay, since I'd rather see the story concluded than the resolution postponed further.

Re: Erfworld Thread X: A Series of Unfortunate Cliffhangers
Spoiler
we learn what Shirley demands- Nope, we already had all the demands listed in an earlier update.
we learn that Huehue respects authority-No, we knew that because he asked for Bill's help in an earlier update. edit, oh, you mean with the asking to spend money for the tablet thing. Okay, fair point.
and we get to know about about Ben and TV- kinda. I admitted to this much. Just some fluff info.
We get the implication that Appletini is important- which we already knew by Charlie wanting her turned in his demands.
the overuse of unintelligible words makes the reading annoying-Agree.
at the end I have no idea what he means.- Yea.
I'd rather see the story concluded than the resolution postponed further.- I think this update should have started with Skyy meeting Bill.Last edited by tomaO2; 2018-07-21 at 04:23 AM.

Re: Erfworld Thread X: A Series of Unfortunate Cliffhangers
Spoiler
I doubt it, we have no evidence Erfworld has a built in system for downgrading warlords into knights, and it wouldn't be worth the trouble to figure out a caster link for it.
Maybe Appletini has a fate, and he wants to perform brain surgery on her like Jillian. Or perhaps he's getting ready to break his no warlords rule, and thinks her Signamancy indicates she has powerful potential.

Re: Erfworld Thread X: A Series of Unfortunate Cliffhangers
3 posts of spoilers?
SpoilerMy idea: Since the Moneymancer is there, AND the head/ranking warlady, who happens to have a crown and has been called a queen, the Moneymancer declares a threat to the side, authorizes promoting Sky to Heir, and they then go off with Caeser just disregarded as "dead already", and Queen Sky becomes in charge of the new TV.
Unfortunately, The other character is "Cheri", not "Lucy".
After the battle, we could have had "Lucy and Queen Sky, with Diamonds" :-).
Not "fire at". I never used the word "at"

Re: Erfworld Thread X: A Series of Unfortunate Cliffhangers
Spoiler
It's cute how the author wants to create tension by making the characters finding rules loopholes when the author himself blatantly changed the rules midstory to create this situation in the first place.
And the current plan makes no sense whatsoever, since even if team Tee Vee can fool their own tower, what matters is intent and the towers will be the ones signing the deal so whatever cunning lies/misdirection they create will still not get through as per the story's own words.

Re: Erfworld Thread X: A Series of Unfortunate Cliffhangers
SpoilerExactly. It will be the intent of the towers. HueHue will believe exactly what he is saying and will not lie and it is HueHue that will sign. So why can't those that don't sign have different intentions?Last edited by Lizard Lord; 2018-08-01 at 02:11 PM.

Put me down for "Is this the real art? Is this just signmancy?"
It probably won't win, but I like it.

Re: Erfworld Thread X: A Series of Unfortunate Cliffhangers
That strikes me as a very Charlie thing to say. He's not talking about ethics or morals, he's talking about money - the guiding star of Charlescomm.
Edit: Even when the context of the word doesn't agree with it. Principles are abhorrent, Principal is divine. Or, maybe, Rob is just really distracted right now.Last edited by Calemyr; 2018-08-08 at 08:06 AM.

Re: Erfworld Thread X: A Series of Unfortunate Cliffhangers
Someone was listening, it's changed now.
I'm not sure enfilade is the correct word though, that referred to the files of old time armies that moved in wide but thin formations so if you caught them by surprise from the side you could hit a lot of targets in a narrow stream of fire. Interlocking fields of fire is more modern. The end of what Son? The story? There is no end. There's just the point where the storytellers stop talking.
