I recall being up at my dad's house in Washington one summer, and the yard next to his was literally one giant blackberry bramble. Some hired landscapers (I assume) literally took machetes to the thing to get rid of it.

Yeah. It's the warm weather, and general sub-tropical Penwith weather. But Yorkshire has Yorkshire Pudding, the moors and so many cool things.
And while Penwith is the most haunted place in the UK Yorkshire is the second most haunted place so you have ghosts and so much cool stuff.

And QI is an amazing show. Alan Davies always loses. And it's funny!

As for crime in the Uk, Im from Liverpool. I dont know how high the crime rates are but Im sure we're in the top five

We talking berries here, huh? (I'm not doing the backlog reading anymore, people :p I'm in forum rehab)

When I was a kid, close to our house there were lots of trees and forests, so we used to go play there. It was safe, no horror tales. But there were lots of berry bushes. There's many berry types in english, so I don't know what they're called (I probably should). They were the black or red variety, those that are made up from a lot of little balls stuck together (yeah, that describes about 50 varieties :p).
We used to pick them up and eat them. Sometimes a lot of them. We were young and had better working digestive systems, I tell you :p Hmmm, even so, let's say that we learned that it wasn't good to have too many of those berries.
