Agreed on Assassinate being way too slow. By the time it's relevant, you should be nearing completion.

I use Backstab, personally. Great anti-Aggro, and sets up Eviscerate and Ferryman if needed.

Second Preparation is absolutely NOT optional, cannot stress that enough.

Also unsure on Coldlights, but I can't say I've tested them either. Seemed too pricy for normal Quest operations. If they work for you, though, keep them.

May want to consider losing the Fan and the Hallucinates too. I don't believe either are commonly run in Quest Rogue. Backstab got taken out some time ago, but as Pirates/Aggro Druid have gained popularity it's made a return.

If you're just getting flattened by aggro, Tar Creeper has been making it way into some more defensive versions. Glacial Shard is also pretty much mandatory, it's such a powerful tool for pinning aggressive decks while you get your quest completed. Bilefin Tidehunter is another powerful card I would recommend - late game it's 2 5/5 minions for 2 mana, one of which has taunt. And the original can be Shadowstepped back to generate more minions.

Speaking of, you need those too. It's two more bounce effects and is far superior to the bounce minions since you can replay cards for 0 mana. If you want turn 4/turn 5 quest completion, that's how you get it.

I agree with this assessment 100%. Further cards to consider are Hungry Crab and Golakka Crawler, if you're seeing Murlocs or Pirates respectively. The changes/cuts I would make:

-2 Eviscerate
-2 Fan of Knives
-1/0 Mimic Pod
-2 Assassinate
-2 Coldlight Oracle

+2 Glacial Shard
+2 Bilefin Tidehunter
+2 Southsea Deckhand
+1/2 Tar Creeper AND/OR +1/2 Golakka Crawler/Hungry Crab

And then save up to get +1 Preparation. If you're serious about optimizing the deck, you could also save up for +1 Patches. It is a powerful include for the deck, giving you another 5/5 charger in the lategame and a 1/1 charger to help manage the early game.

If the issue is needing cheap viable decks, patches is like 60% of the dust in pirate warrior, so is hardly an awful choice regardless.


Also seconding bilefin for quest rogue, I've seen that one card singlehandedly turn around a game against aggro just by bouncing it a few times after quest is played.

I've not played my Quest Rogue deck for a while, but I was doing fairly well with it. I think it's a bit different from most.

My absolute god opener I got once was going second: 2 Wisps and Ferryman in opening hand, then drawing Shadowstep, then drawing Prep. T1 - Quest. T2 - Wisp, Wisp, Ferryman to bounce one, Wisp, Shadowstep, Wisp. T3 - Prep, Quest, lotsa 5/5s.

Since I only really do quests via Brawl whenever possible, I always empty my log on Sunday and let it recharge over Mon-Tue-Wed. So this works out nice for me.

Oh, good advice. As far as the pack, I just ran an aggro mage and ignored Ragnaros. For getting the emote, I think 1-drop Hunter works pretty well, and adding in Grim Patron seems like it would work well.

For anyone who was curious, don't fill up your board and give Mini-Rag in the brawl nowhere to go. The previous co-op brawls nuked your board if you filled up. This one is worse, he simply doesnt switch and nukes you two turns in a row.

You can temporarily kill the rag by devolving him, just in case anyone wanted to try going that way.

Having a hilarious time finishing quests with a Quest Hunter. Without the real need to deal with enemy fields, my deck consists of Tol'vir, Quick Shot, Quest, and 25 1-drops.

Huh. Don't know that that's worth playing the Brawl more than once, honestly. It's not particularly interesting or fun, IMO. Better than the RNG-fests I suppose, but not appealing to me in any way.

I tried secret paladin. I won, but it was very close, so I don't think the deck is especially good. Going to try quest hunter.

Quest Hunter too slow, Grim Patron too likely to fill your board. Token Paladin seems to be the way to go, with a bunch of the dethrattle eggs.
