Maximum damage paladin 10th level

Tonight came out a matter, one of the players said that there is a 10-th level build which arrives at his maximum damage at 3000 or so, with a paladin. Using only complete warrior and complete sage (the divine complete, not sure that's the name). Given everything, from critical to the creature being evil.


Now, it's probably impossible even because he listed items that are out of a 10th level character budget, but what is the absolute maximum of damage for such paladin?

Both with such restricted books and with all 3.5.

Not necessarily with things like punish evil, thought the critical could be inserted.

What I can think of is the knight lance and mounted charge, thought I don't know how much it gets (too lazy right now)

Uh, it's a build with stuff that doesn't really apply to a 10th level paladin. And he didn't remember the build.

Thought the question was what would be the maximum damage with an actual real 10 levels paladin build, not with that one

You mean Complete Divine or Complete Champion?

As to Max Damage: hard to suss out. 3000 sounds... unreasonably high. Ask to see the build.

yes I know you asked for max damage but calculating that is a PAIN... easier to see if there's something sketch.

In TO, the answer to how much damage he can do is "all of it," for a Pun-Pun build. With that out of the way, he's probably got a bunch of stuff from the A-Game Paladin. Also possible he's cheesing out a bunch of damage from mounted charging with a Valorous Lance, Shock Trooper, Leap Attack, and probably some other magic items that can make it absurd.

I am betting that that absolute max theoretical damage for a paladin using limited sources (just the completes) would just be some crazy charge build while smiting and power attacking. With a crit you could probably get, theoretically to around 400-500 damage. That's with spirited charge stacking multiplicatively with critting. You might be able tp push that higher, thats just off the top of my head.

Anyway, thanks everyone, it was as I guessed some kind of charge build, possibly mounted. Jeez, at 10th level I'd settle for 500 max damage on a charge every day. (And barbarians will probably laugh at that, but who cares)
