Oh, no, that's the former thread you are thinking of. In this one, we do not even attempt to make it look like as if we would like the comic as is. No, no, you have entered the realm of never-ending mocking, where rivers of satire flow and we have scorn instead of acorn trees. No veils, no attempts at sugarcoating our words lie between the comic and our scathing laughter about its pathetic, poorly written, awfully drawn ways.

Wow, that last panel looks horrendous. Seriously, it's like he decided that he was too good actually drawing even his already terrible style.
My thought? He might as well have had this:

Instead of what he drew. It would have been more humorous, and it is about the same in terms of artistic quality.

...Wow. That actually is better, and not just from an ironic standpoint. Think about it. What's creepier: Yet another cliched villian slaughtering random people and wearing a concealing cloak, or a villian slaughtering random people and wearing a yellow "Have a Nice Day" smiley mask? It jumps the comic up from "This guy is evil" to "This guy is disturbed and twisted in a large number of ways."

Well, how else do you expect Mookie to introduce the next arc?

I'd far prefer a single day of Talking Heads than two or three weeks of 'action shots' showing TIM doing nothing but be a bloodthirsty berserker.
May you get EXACTLY what you wish for.

Or neither, if this whole mess goes the Oracle Hunter's (the comic character's, not the poster's) and Huk Thak's way.

    Really? Poor guy.
I was thinking all this stuff about how he used to be Miranda's and Donovan's friend was some start of his redemption arc, but considering Mookie already stated that the government is a bunch of criminals, and I suspect this kinda reflects his general naive world view, Karnak becoming a politician doomed him to Fourth Caste without any further chances.

I don't really care how much attention this guy gets, more power to him, or not, whatever. I was just amazed that people who have access to the winnitude of OOTS could bear to read that stuff or even enjoy it. But since this a mock-thread, it seems a bit more understandable.

Ah, but you must read the thread to appreciate the totality of our design!

To say we are a mock thread is the equivalent of going to a single wing of the Smithsonian and saying 'these are good paintings'.

We do not merely 'mock' DD here, good sir! Many genres are our playthings when we desire to find some enjoyment out of DD in some fashion...

I like how Karnak refers to his court in the third person. I bet he refers to himself in the third person, but only when he's alone.

Oh TIM, what is under that cloak. Is it another dumb mask? Or something ridiculously easy to draw?

You know, in another 50 or so strips, it'll just be day after day of spandex-clad characters wailing on each other inside of a confusing panel structure. I remember when there used be be "plot" between action sequences...

By the way, when that day does come, I call dibs on renaming it "Deegan Ball Z"

If he's not careful, he's going to be voiced by William Shatner.

    ...

That would actually be pretty neat, the Lord of Hell voiced by William Shatner.

It may make this arc bearable.

Man, if DD were animated or something, then I could finally play "Dominic Deegan: The Drinking Game." As it is, I just check DD in the morning, and chase it with a double shot of bourbon.

It's not very much fun, but it gets me through the day

Chug a glass every time someone randomly shouts to respect the bolding from the strip? I think everybody would die from alcohol overdose during the next talking head strip.

(Though we do have a few Eastern European snarkers. They may have the training to survive this ordeal.)
