What to see in Glasgow
So, there's a work meeting in Glasgow that leaves one with an extra evening (work done around 15:00, plane leaving at around 22:00) to enjoy watching the sights, try the food, and just... generally enjoy the city. There's only one problem.
Wat do? I've no idea what one should try when you have one weekend in the city, and I find tourist sites can't really match the advice of locals. So... if anyone lives in or near Glasgow and has advice on what's enjoyable, I'd much appreciate such advice.
Thank you in advance.

Avoid the Glasgow kiss (headbut to the face).
The end of what Son? The story? There is no end. There's just the point where the storytellers stop talking.

Re: What to see in Glasgow
It was interesting but taste can differ. I had a week in Glasgow so basically had to go everywhere. My friend was feeling too fat and tired so I had to wander around it alone. I don't think one suffers by giving it a pass.
Yeah. No matter how much you get the urge. Don't tell the guides, "so I hear Willam Wallance looked like Mel Gibson". Even if *every* guide has to point out it's not so, making you start to think it has to be true cause they keep repeating Mel Gibson is Willam Wallace.

What sort of thing would you be looking for? Music/food/theatre/museums there's alot of stuff in Glasgow so knowing what you would like to do would help us.

Re: What to see in Glasgow
I'm on a train to Glasgow for work right now, as it happens! Unfortunately I've never spent any time in the city; I only ever go there to change trains...
The only thing in Glasgow I'm familiar with is the cathedral, but it is pretty impressive. I believe it's the only pre-Reformation church in Scotland that's still intact.Last edited by Ninja_Prawn; 2019-04-18 at 06:24 AM.

Re: What to see in Glasgow
Well there's the Glasgow Gallery of Modern art which is in the city centre, it's a nice Greek style building obviously containing an art gallery surrounded by restaurants of most types. It's also on queens street which if you follow North for a minute or so has George square which is basically an open park with a load of statues. If you go south on Queen street there's alot more restaurants.
The Gallery also connects onto Buchanan street which is the main shopping street of Glasgow.

Re: What to see in Glasgow
I'll keep that list in mind. We're in the first stages to plan a trip to Scotland (not only Glasgow) for summer next year (yeah, I know, it's quite in advance) and this is very nice to know what to do in Glasgow (we're probably going there a couple of days). Of course, I have the added difficulty of having to find things that are wheelchair accessible.
