Re: Halloween movehs!
A bunch of these names sound familiar, but I've only actually seen three (which means I have some homework to do!) Of those:
Wendigo - I remember enjoying this one, though I don't remember what I did or did not like it. So I guess, sort of forgettable, but a fun watch.
Pin - Buy this one. It's a really weird one, but it's brilliant.
Toad Road - this is a tough one. It's not well made, and definitely not a traditional horror movie. The first third is annoying teenagers with a camera clearly trying to be "edgy". But the ending of the movie is eerie in a way that's hard to describe. Ultimately, I really liked it, even though I wouldn't call it a good movie.

Re: Halloween movehs!
I absolutely loved Tales of Halloween last year, specifically The Night Billy Raised Hell. I watched it with my niece last Halloween and while I wouldn't call it an instant classic or anything like that, it was definitely entertaining enough that I intend to rematch it with her again this year.

An artist desperate to lose his virginity becomes entangled with a hooker the Starry Wisdom Cult claims is destined to bear Cthulhu's child. I'm told it's a 'so bad its good" movie.

Re: Halloween movehs!
Very obscure collection you've got there. I love horror movies, and have seen a lot of them, but I haven't seen any of these really besides Dig Two Graves and The Windmill.
Dig Two Graves is a slow burn, and quite frankly, bore-fest. that said, it's a beautifully shot movie but has a real lack of substance.
The Windmill is a complete dumpster fire. It's an unimaginative, easily forgettable, interchangeable slasher flick. This one I had to watch over three sittings because I just kept turning it off and doing something else.Last edited by Pit of Shades; 2017-10-06 at 12:41 PM.

Re: Halloween movehs!
I Am the Pretty Thing That Lives in the House (2017) is on Netflix, so I wouldn't bother buying it. It was alright, very slow burn, but had a few decent scares.
Couple of Netflix recommendations for you if you haven't watched them yet:
Patchwork - Felt very much like an homage to Re-animator to me, with some slasher bits thrown in for good measure. Delightful amounts of ham, and manages a fair bit of black comedy that is actually comedic and not just bleak.
Little Evil - A humorous take on The Omen, not much in the way of laugh out loud funny (for me anyways), but very amusing and light hearted. Comes very close to a feel good movie by the end of it. If you've ever read Good Omens, it very much has a similar feel to that.

Re: Halloween movehs!
Crom's Devils, but do you have a lot of B-movies there, Bhu.
I recall seeing Wendigo, which was quite slow and kinda boring. I'd give it a pass, personally.
I actually watched Tales of Halloween on Oct. 31 a couple years ago. As with most anthologies, it's a mixed bag, with stories ranging from bad to OK to great. The best story is The Ransom of Rusty Rex, a classic "you bit off WAY more than you could chew" story involving a pair of kidnappers.
I haven't personally seen The Lure, but I do recall hearing from a girl at work who's of east European descent that she wanted to see it. The trailer looked good.
I started watching Mexico Barbaro one night but never finished it. Again, it's another anthology.Last edited by Giggling Ghast; 2017-10-11 at 03:36 PM.

Re: Halloween movehs!
If anyone wants to see Babysitter (on Netflix currently), I recommend trying to avoid any spoilers. Even reading the little summary on Netflix ruins a big mid-movie reveal.
On the other hand, it seemed pretty mediocre. Some of the aesthetic reminded of Scott Pilgrim (showing items he gathers, like inventory names) but just done a lot more poorly. Still, kinda cool.
