Default What do half fiends look like?

The pathfinder site is less than...verbose when it comes to telling us how the half-fiend is supposed to look. There's not even the mention of wings, just that they fly with good maneuverability.

You know how spikey & dungeon-punky a default Pathfinder character looks?

    Double that.

    Add bat wings and a palette of raven-dark / bone-pale / sinister-green / blood-red / despair-blue / lemure-yellow / etc.

Basically, just like a normal person except that add them being goth, copy paste some demonic wings, make their skin have a deep blood purplish red tone and add some claws and fangs. Optionally have them have horns about the suze of their hand.

Depends on which half. Sometimes they're a torso, other times just a pair of legs (maybe a tail).

But seriously, take a tiefling and make them a bit more fiendish.

Half-fiend is a pretty generic term, so I would look to the type of fiend contributing the half and use that as a description template for your half-fiend. Demons Revisited gives slightly more detail for half-demons of each of the standard varieties, including some changes to the template for each type that can be used as a guideline for your own creations. However, I like to feel that the ultimate decision comes to what the player wants and what the DM allows that doesn't become mechanically problematic outside of the stuff they normally get.

I'd say just as how a Tiefling's parentage determines their appearance. Or else just go nuts with it. I've always thought that demons(who don't physically reproduce or rear young, they are really just congealed souls) shouldn't have offspring that just take stereotypical demon features and staple them on a white-bread human. They should look absolutely hideous. Like, This + This
    does not make This

Go to the alternative physical features table and take like 2 features from each category. Emacieted body, Forked Tongue, Antennae, blunted metallic teeth, aquatic tail, slimy translucent skin, backward-bending legs, webbed toes, animated hair, insect mandibles instead of lips, a single glowing cyclopean eye, holes instead of ears, draconic claws with an extra digit on the hands, and elbow spurs.
    Should be largely horrifying.

They have to sell the books/pdfs somehow, and artwork is one of the things not covered by the OGL. So if you truly need to jumpstart your imagination, pony up.

For your specific question, the sample one in the Bestiary (a half-fiend minotaur) has big bat wings.

The 3.5 SRD still has images as part of OGL.
    Half-Fiend
Nale is no more, he has ceased to be, his hit points have dropped to negative ten, all he was is now dust in the wind, he is not Daniel Jackson dead, he is not Kenny dead, he is final dead, he will not pass through death's revolving door, his fate will not be undone because the executives renewed his show for another season. His time had run out, his string of fate has been cut, the blood on the knife has been wiped. He is an Ex-Nale! Now can we please resume watching the Order save the world.

    Half-Fiend
Those aren't actually OGL, WotC just released galleries of their art on their website that the SRD folks included links to. The actual SRD document itself has no images in it at all.

But yeah, in most cases PF took a 3.5 image and touched it up, so you can use those too.

The forms of half fiends will be as varied as the many fiends themselves, if not more so. There isn't a universal description because there's so many factors in play that can change it. What type of fiend's blood is involved, how many generations back it is, how the demonic blood interact with your normal genetics, how your lifestyle might affects it...

The flight is probably from bat-like wings though.

Probably, but black feathered wings also work nicely. Pazuzu has brown wings but I am not sure he has sex with mortals so brown wings seem unlikely and I can think of no fiend with angelic or celestial looking wings.

Aren't Erinyes described as "angelic looking" or some such? I believe the fluff behind them is that they are fallen angels and some retain a sliver of their celestial good looks, which may include white feathered wings... although unlikely, but you never know, since devils do use deceit a lot.

Erinyes have wings that can go either way.

Vrocks and Nalfeshnes both have feathery wings.

    Palrethee have weird skeletal wings.

Really you can do as you like. Just add enough spikes, paint some ominous coloration, then sprinkle with brimstone & sin.

Aren’t those found in MM2? Never used them, but I recall they tried to become Balors, failed the test, and as punishment their wings are always on fire. Can’t recall if the wings are usable or not, but it’s no slouch for a mid level party to face.

They are indeed from the MM2.

As this captured surveillance image shows, though, their wings are not on fire -- it's their everything else that's on fire.

(They're the ones on the far left.)

Oh and the white one in the back also has feathery wings, so that's one more data point in favor of "whatever you like".

My post was meant to emphasize the "wings" moreso than the "bat-like." Obviously there can be multiple flavors of wing, but the OP seemed unsure if half-fiends had them at all.
