Default Spell Storing Ring for Wizards

I have a Wizard who wants to be a crafter for himself and the group. An important item for his repertoire would be Spell Storing rings and other items.

Upon looking into this, I found that the spell that powers the rings is Cleric-only. The SRD entry on spell storing weapons fails to list the appropriate spell, so I'd assume it to be the same one.

What would be a good spell to replace this if a Wizard was crafting the ring? The best I can think of is Mnemonic Enhancer; it's a similar effect and the same level of spell.

Does anyone have any better suggestions?

Is this for a specific edition of D&D?

If so you might want to ask a Mod to move your thread to a sub-forum.
